STL -- I think it was a muskrat.  They do have white claws.  Raccoons have black claws.

The Norths spent the night on Love Branches.  This morning, time for more grasses and some interesting perching spots.

DNF brought a gray squirrel carcass to the nest early afternoon. She's not sharing, but MrN came to observe, hang around, and deliver grasses, just in case.  Great closeups of this gorgeous pair.  You can watch the defurring and consuming on the rewind.

The Norths are back at work on the nest this morning, and a woodpecker was foraging in the branches nearby while they were gone.

Anybody know the source of DNF's bloody head feathers?

Snow and cold this morning. Minimal eagle activity about 10:30.  Pretty views when we don't have to be out in it.

Afternoon, DNF brought grasses and tested the bowl fit by digging with her feet. Then she perched on the Perching Branch for a short while.

Wintery time at DNN.  DNF huddled in the Love Branches about 8:00 this morning, then flew to the creek trees, maybe more out of the wind.

Decorah North, Decorah, and the Flyway!
Happy Fri-Yay, everyone! We have news and NestFlix from Decorah, Decorah North, and the Flyway! I loved all of these videos, but I especially enjoyed seeing DNF working on the North nest and watching and listening to duetting eagles on the Flyway. Thanks so much to our dedicated camera operators and videomakers for bringing us such amazing sights and sounds, and to you for watching, sharing, learning, and especially for caring.

Shep, the nestflix comments and videos are soooo enjoyable.

It's a wintery day at the Norths, not a lot going on.  Cardinal and woodpecker pics, MrN briefly on the nest, around 11:00 this morning. Cam ops found interesting tracks in the snow, deer probably [no pic].

Three coyotes at the bottom of the live feed screen on the rewind this morning.  But I've lost them for the time.  Photo if I can find them again.

I was watching the live feed in full screen this morning, and you could see that one of the Hatchery's was on the fishing perch, and the other was perched to the right in a tree.  Not sure who, but there seemed to be lots of vocals today, and caught a pair soaring near bluffs.
