Around 2:21pm Darling attempted to perch on the dock and fell into the water.

A neighbor immediately came over and rescued Darling, and its at CROW for rehab.
Updating as we get them. - WRW post.

Nearby neighbor fished her out with a net.
CROW took blood sample.

He misssed platform, went to our LEFT, landed in that channel between the 2 docks.  A man on near dock with a net fished him out and boxed him and CROW picked him up.

FIRST FISH!
July 6, 2024  Captiva Island, FL
This young osprey caught her first fish July 6th.
Its only a little needlefish, but for a first - it'll do!

Mom! Its flapping! What do I do!? 🤣

Still no word from CROW on her sibling.
I expect its fine, just weak, hungery.

Darling died
July 8, 2024 my edit of fb post.
CROW Rehabilitation of Wildlife clinic
We received a call July 4 that a fledgling Osprey from  Captiva had fallen from its nest into the water. One of our volunteers responded immediately to rescue the bird and bring it to our clinic.

Upon examination, staff noted the Osprey had bruising on its keel (breastbone), had a wing droop on its left wing, and was thin and wet. Staff administered pain medication and fluids & was placed in a quiet cage to destress.

Unfortunately Darling died overnight.
It is unknown why.
