Good Morning Beakers!

tsk, 22 here, high 47 today! And it looks like nothing below for the next 15 days!  61 for Friday and Sunday!  I use the K-Cups but haven't tried the hot chocolate! Last year the Keurig was acting up, I thought it was about ready to quit, but I found a youtube video and fixed it! In the meantime I bought a unit that does the K-Cups and you can also make a pot of brewed coffee. It's still in the box, the Keurig is still going... I love the Woodwick Fraiser Fir and Yankee Balsam Cedar candles for the holidays! The Woodwicks have the crackling fire sound when they burn.

kb, a bit colder down here in Central Iowa! Well, they got the darn thing started!

Phyl, graceful cranes in France, beautiful! Cinnamon Day, I love cinnamon! And scented candles too! Is that your porch? If it is, you did a beautiful job decorating!

Lani, we used to have such fun on Halloween! When I worked for the mortgage company in the late 80s, early 90s, before we were bought out by bigger and bigger companies, we looked forward to Halloween! Everyone dressed up and then the president of the company (always in costume) would judge each department. The winner got a pizza party. My department was the Beverly Hillbillies one year, Gangsters, Punk Accountants, Clowns in other years. We had such fun back then!

oldguy, my favorite video was the Purrbie House, wow, a lot of work went into that and it really got the cats attention! And now at work you get to do away with all the Halloween stuff and get the Christmas stuff totally out!

baz, your walks are so interesting, love the wildlife person's response to your report. 'well, they live there'!

This is a FB post between two of the gals in Springfield that I worked and partied with 30 years ago, still having Halloween fun!

Vicky Kelly
Another fun Halloween in the books. Just over 40 trick or treaters braved the cold to knock on our door and show off their fun costumes. One very young warrior even asked if he could come and see what was inside our house😂🤭. In addition to candy, I gave away one fuzzy jacket (to a cold ghost) and 5 sets of hand warmers. (You know it's cold when kids pick hand warmers over candy!!! I threw them in there on a whim and glad I did!)  Hope everyone enjoyed one of my favorite holidays! 🎃

Wow! That's awesome!
My ghost buster crew came back early and cold. I had food and hot, chocolate waiting for them.
Vicky Kelly
Rose K Turner That's what it's all about. I remember you doing the same for my little boy!

eagles4 - good questions regarding Ollie...
Ollie could care less about the temp or icy or whatever....I'm the one who MAKES him put on a coat as he is a one coated dog, not 2....he thinks that's a game now. A game to avoid putting on a coat.

and, I'm the one only who chooses to walk or not to walk....Yesterday was way too icy....I made an executive decision it was too dangerous.

Today is fine, but cold....another executive decision by me not to today.....just cause. I don't feel like it and am going grocery shopping etc....LOL

Good Morning Beakers.....Happy November!

We got a record breaking 21 trick-or-treater's last night.

oldguy - Thanks for the Q-Kids video, and the Barbie Dream house for kitties.

Phyl - LOL, I don't think Jeff would be scared!  Thanks for the DOTY, and the 365.

baz - I agree with your comment on trying to get warm.  Yikes on the coyotes on your walk!

Lani - When Jeff makes the cocoa in k-Cups he likes to two 2 smalls to make it taste extra chocolatey.  Your dinner sounds good.

kb - Aww, kitty and bunny.

tsk - Brrrr, is right!

E4E - Hope you all get some rain soon.

clynn - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your Mom!

LOL, the big Cheerios!

Lots of pain today (the weather?) But I made myself go to the pool. The water was not too cold and I worked hard. I made some oatmeal with peanut butter and vitamin powder and my coffee.
I hope to watch Gauff v Swiatek today ?
Thanx re the Rangers. I have a feeling D Backs will rally tonight ??

Happy November, Beakers!  :)

LOL, it's easy to tell who reads for content, and who scans.... LOLOL!  Just to set the record "scrait," LOL...I did not see the coyotes on my 31-minute lunchtime walk yesterday!!  ;D  I drove past them on my way home from running errands about 3:15 yesterday afternoon, when I took a driving shortcut home through the neighborhood across the street from my neighborhood;D ;D ;D  There's going to be a pop quiz!   ;) ;D ;D ;D 8)

Oh, and I found out it wasn't a wildlife officer I talked to yesterday, it was someone from the county's sheriff's department. When people call about potential problem, or scary, wild critters here, like alligators and coyotes and such, he's the guy that comes out and checks out the situation, and he determines if it's something that needs a for-real "gummint" wildlife officer's attention.  ;)  That's to avoid over-taxing the 2 local wildlife officers on duty here with calls that they aren't really needed to handle, so they can go about doing what they are really needed to do.  This will be an extra credit bonus question on the pop quiz.
   ;D 8)

Meanwhile... on more important matters...  :D :D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CLYNN'S MOM!!!  Have a beautiful day, and let the good times roll!!  :D

P.S. Lori, I want some of those Key Lime Cupcakes!!  :D

Waving to All the Beakers!  :D

Hello November!
Morning Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Tsk, Lisa, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eagles, Kb, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, Jilltosa, BL, Eburg, Weasel, Ezee, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Omasawyer, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

Baz hmmm Pop Quiz ... I never did well on them.  :-[

{{{Hugs Tig}}} My right knee bothers me these cold mornings, so I understand. The pool waters will help you  :-* ... that's why I make myself walk everyday no matter what. I had to close my eyes the last two innings. :-\ ... I think it'll be TX Rangers this year! Oh well, the Boys of Summer had a good run!  ;D

Lisa, 21 for Halloween night is pretty good. Shannon had to work last night, so she left a large old fashion pot filled with candy. A neighbor kept a distant eye on it. And every child took just one. Shannon told her neighbor to take what was left when everyone was shutting down for the night. She loves her Mormon neighborhood.  ;D I think she had 200+ .. Her Ring door  cam kept track.

Lori, darling birthday gifts for Clynn's mom! Yummy too!

Clynn, I remember it was the same in Salina. No matter where you shopped, the employees were dress up and baskets of goodies or hot cinnamon tea or cocoa was available to customers. I loved going to our Phillips gas station, the attendants were in costume and they still provided full service up to when we moved in 2002. Even our town hospital nurses and doctors were in costume. Those were the days!  8)... your FB friends are awesome for giving what was needed the most!  :) .... LOL Big Cheerios!.... {{{Hey, Hey, we're the Monkees  ;D}}}

Eagles, WOW 300+!!! Shannon's neighborhood had a lot of kids too! We had another frosty morning and we need rain too. I was hoping some of the clouds from Hurricane Otis would head up this way. But, alas.  :(

Tsk, I've got the pumpkin candle burning.

Kb  Geniuses!  8)

Phyl, Potato soup is Mike's favorite.... one of the many special fall moments is watching the bird migration fly over, thanks for nature video.... Cinnamon day yum!

Lani, LOL, my post was tongue-in-cheek. I hope people know me well enough by now to know.  ;) :D I just wanted to let everyone know I didn't actually walk past those 3 coyotes yesterday. That would've been a little more excitement than I would want - they were very close to one of my walking paths, so I'm glad I was in the car, and not on foot, when I saw them!  :D  I know you can relate... I would freak if I took one of your wonderful walks in nature and encountered a javelina!!  Potato soup sounds so good right now!!  :) Wow on All the honest little goblins at Shannon's house last night! Good to hear that!  :) :-*

OK just to join the survey --  My doorbell rang twice; first one he didn't give me enough time.  When I reached the door he was already half way down the driveway.  Second one was a younger teen, fully costumed and looking witchy.  Gave her two fists of whatever.  It is sad the tradition changed.  We had more fun with it.

And, to start the traffic results of the coming of winter. . .

They actually had three major expressways in the area this morning until about 7 and 8.  Problems started about 2 a.m. is what I heard.  Started with the intermittent bands of light snow.  tsk's area had measurable; I had some flakes.  What fell was melting for a while, making surfaces looked like it rained.  However, Mother Nature won when the temp dropped enough for the "wet" to turn to black ice.  So many accidents that at that crucial time "rushhour" turned into hours and many multiple car accidents.  Three interstates, you know that was a BAD way to start the day/the season.  Did it make the national news shows anywhere??

Good Afternoon, Beakers!
Good posts on a chilly day!  We are above freezing and have a bright sunnu day with wind out of tge north!  Maybe down in the thirties tonight.  The thermostat showed that it is 73 degrees in here but I switched it
To  heat!   Keep it at 72 as I think electric heat is colder than gas!  Lol, how can that be!   Think the problem is that this heat come out of ducts in the ceilings !  Since heat rises .i think it would be toastup there!   My feet are cold!  System works great for air!
Weather ap says there is a warning trend for all beginning tomorrow.  We will see it the next day!  At least there will be a snow and ice melt and a return of warmer temps!

Let me add my wishes to Clynns Mom for a wonderful Birthday today!  I am sharing the wonderful sweets posted for her by all!  Yummy!   You will all have to begin making plans for a great 90th celebration!
When did you say you were going to see the kitties?

Thanks for posting the cute Halloween update on the eagles of Deborah!   Read a clecer version of tge like by Vicki on M15 and F23.

There were a lot  of ghosts and goblins out last night and Putter monitored the action for a bit out of the dining room window!   One foot on the window sill and a few low woof, woofs!  I was the witch with the lights out so I am not sure how many were!  Parents drive car loads here and watch them so there were a lot .  Usually over a hundred.

baz, you might begin to carry dog biscuits in your pockets on your walks!
You could become the coyote lady! Or, spread a lot of kibble on the ground!  Keep them busy searching and eating!
