view out my kitchen window....ash is almost done dropping...I have my work cut out for me once it dries out

Remember when a bald eagle, I assume Mr. Tower, perched on one of the lower curved branches of my ash?
I felt like we were staring at each other.
I made a naive mistake at that time and ran into the living room to get my digital camera...he had gone by that time...

It's a day to walk Ollie, but I'm not sure....so many large vehicles parked across the street...this is a picture of a smaller one left from last night on private property!....we shall see.
Let's just hope they don't "cut" another gas line today, LOL

Good news. Three weeks ago we were notified my Bro had thought his 8 ft. ladder had been stolen from our garage. We were worried. How could it have happened? I had a sneaking suspicion and my hopes were rewarded when I heard the news this a.m. He had loaned it to his B.I.L. early this summer and they both forgotten... partly because the B.I.L. had been out of state most of the summer. Phew.

Taking it easy this morning but I need to do some yard werk the next two days when it starts to dry out. It will be dry and warm this weekend. Perfect for puppies!  :o

Lani, I found a youtube documenting your ride home!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKDj6bWlBQY  I was a bit disappointed that it didn't show your sign, or maybe I missed it... Anyway, it is a beautiful drive!

Phyl, I am also happy with Windows 11!  ;D

tig, we acquired a 12' ladder! We had rented one when we were painting the house years ago. We called the rental company several times that they could come and pick it up, but they never did. I think they finally went out of business and I can see why...Anyway, Ed loaned it to a friend of his several years ago. A couple of years ago I asked him if he could ask the friend to return the ladder and he doesn't remember loaning it...  ::) I guess it's easy come, easy go...  ;D

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

Good morning Beakers!
Morning Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Tsk, Lisa, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eagles, Kb, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, Jilltosa, BL, Eburg, Weasel, Ezee, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Omasawyer, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

{{{Hugs Lisa}}}

Eagles, Sounds like a perfect day for you, Kris and friends! You both are really enjoying your retirement!  ;D

Phyl, would love to know what the owl was thinking when watching the Hazel grouse  ;D

Tsk, the 2008 Ford Explorer Mike bought has only 35,000 miles on it, driven to church only on Sundays and went through three divorces, in which sometime during the last divorce the car decor must have been given good whacking! LOL! ;D ... we bought it so it's new to us and he drives it everyday.  ;D

Kb, Thank you for letting us know how Vi is doing. Of course, I'll add her and Dennis to our prayer list. Bless her.... Very precious sighting of Albie Mom LOL checking on UQ. I bet UQ would have been thrilled to see her!  :-* ...gorgeous pic of the peregrine... glad you got some rain.... I don't see any rain for the nest ten days on our weather app. But, morning temps will drop to the 40's next week.  :)

Clynn, awww darling pic of Bella and mom Sydney!  ;D Here's another video Arizona State Route 87 | Beeline Highway | Mesa to Payson, AZ   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKDj6bWlBQY    Mesa to Payson. Shannon lives in Mesa, she takes a shortcut from Gilbert to the Beeline (SR87) or 87 Northbound as we call it per AZ511 app that we have on our iphone. Mike checks what's going on SR87 Southbound to the valley before he leaves for Gila Bend.   https://www.az511.gov/map. ...  I like the TV and Kite sharing a meal. LOL! ... I put a fresh DIY bait out for the yellowjackets/Wasps this morning. Since they are predators they love feasting on the chicken I place in the sugar water. During our early morning walks, we come upon poor dead frogs in the road. And they are covered with live wasps. UGH!

The video you posted was taken a bit closer to Payson, which is at a higher elevation.  Here is a pic of TNF. Above us is the Coconino National Forest, Flagstaff is located there, and that is where we got Sadie. Part of the Hopi reservation is in Coconino NF.

The Tonto National Forest, encompassing 2,873,200 acres (1,162,700 ha; 11,627 km2), is the largest of the six national forests in Arizona and is the ninth largest national forest in the United States.[1][2] The forest has diverse scenery, with elevations ranging from 1,400 feet (427 m) in the Sonoran Desert to 7,400 feet (2,256 m) in the ponderosa pine forests of the Mogollon Rim (pronounced MOH-gee-on, or MUH-gee-own). The Tonto National Forest is also the most visited "urban" forest in the United States.[3]

The boundaries of the Tonto National Forest are the Phoenix metropolitan area to the south, the Mogollon Rim to the north and the San Carlos and Fort Apache Indian Reservation to the east. The Tonto (Spanish for "dumb") is managed by the USDA Forest Service and its headquarters are in Phoenix. There are local ranger district offices in Globe, Mesa, Payson, Roosevelt, Scottsdale, and Young.[4]

On June 13, 2020, a wildfire ignited in the Tonto Basin area. The Bush Fire, as it was named, burned 193,455 acres, becoming Arizona's fifth largest fire on record. The fire was sufficiently contained by July 1, prompting the Incident Management Team to transition control to the Forest Service, which subsequently conducted a Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) assessment to begin rehabilitation efforts. Investigators determined the fire was human-caused.[5][6]

Wildlife
Many wildlife species inhabit the forest including Colorado desert raccoons, bald eagles, New Mexico black bears, Mearns coyotes, Arizona skunks, bobcats, greater roadrunners, prairie falcons, Coues' white-tailed deer, long-eared owls, desert mule deer, Western red-tailed hawks, Great blue herons, North American cougars, North American barn owls, ring-tailed cats, American kestrels, pronghorns, javelinas, and Rocky Mountain elk.[citation needed]

Lakes, rivers and streams
The Tonto National Forest has six notable cold water reservoirs:

Bartlett Reservoir
Horseshoe Reservoir
The next four are created by the Salt River chain of dams:

Saguaro Lake
Canyon Lake
Apache Lake
Theodore Roosevelt Lake

Great info Lani - allows me to feel closer to ya!

I mowed up all the leaves in back.....whew....more to drop for sure, and the neighbor's ash as well, but a good first effort!

I'm now watching a human operate what's called a Ditch Witch across the street from me....I googled it and it's basically digging a trench in the property across from me.....it's loud, but what I read suggests they are at least across the street, laying fiber optic line outside of our gas lines with it's separate trench?...this one is leading up to my water tower with all that IT equipment on top of it.

I'm just a curious person...LOL

PHYL  Good to know on Windows 11.

KB  What is that slatted brown thingy on your deck?  Do you mulch the leaves as you mow?

TIG   So funny about the ladder  LOLOL  So you are puppy sitting this coming weekend?  We are predicted to have a great weekend here as well.

CLYNN  That was SOO Cool.  Now we know what it looks like when Lani comes home from Phoenix.  Beeline is a pretty route.   LOLOL  George Harrison.   I must have been unconscious when Windows 11 came out.

EAGLES  Enjoy the rest of your day with friends  ;D  Glad you like it

tsk it's a pergola that Scott built over the jacuzzi....remember when we re-stained it on top?..I said we would never do that again ourselves..LOL..I'll have to hire that out about next year. He built a portable roof for over the pergola for the winter jacuzzi time. I have re-used all that tin to fix my shed at the bottom of my hill. Have one more piece of said roof of tin to use up this year. That's one of Andrew's projects.
I now put my jacuzz "to bed" each winter so I don't need a slanted roof of tin over it. He also draped the sides with tarp so it was totally enclosed and quite cozy in the winter. He used the jacuzzi in winter several times a day. I just don't.

Yes, I have a mulching mower. The leaves are too thick to just mow over them when like this. I usually just mulch them in. And, i will have plenty of opportunity to do so yet.
My grass looks great btw after several years of repairing it.

BTW, I have to give a shout out to my husband Scott...He was the winner of the best landscaping for a commercial property several years in Minnetonka when he was the landscaper and operations manager for Environments Inc. The company that built all the cabinets/shelving etc. for companies like Disney and Sherwin Williams..It was a huge property. And now defunct. When we married he left and went to work for the city of Hopkins MN..in guess what?...parks and forestry of course, mowing all areas of city, streets repair, tree trimming, and snow plowing.

He taught me everything. Before that he built houses and also was in the Navy on a submarine Tender in Wietnam operating the boilers of our nuclear war heads.

Though I watched and learned from him, I am not physically able to do everything he did but nonetheless I know more than most about landscaping just from him.

In return, I took care of him as a specialist..think it worked out, LOL

So, I bagged my leaves today...heavy as wet so drying in back in garbage cans till they can be pulled up my hill.

Egg On My Face :-[

Not sure if I don't know my numbers or if I don't know how to type (key).

Your answer to my post Lani didn't sound familiar or make sense.   ???

My fault totally - NOT  87 but  89 / 89A

Starts out at the boarder and passes some great areas, great parks.  Finishes off up at the north border (Mexico, AZ, Sedona, Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon, UT, WY, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Montana, Canada.

Not a one week trip!  Not only one trip either.   ;D  Remember I'm a mountain girl.  Spent a lot  of time discovering the West

Senality setting in???

A hairy or downy woodpecker got stuck inside my screened in porch.

I successfully rescued it after it was dumbfounded for far too long...

I safely used a broom to guide it outside...it was happy. So was Ollie man.

Peregrin falcon dive.
The peregrine falcon is the fastest diving bird in the world and the fastest animal on the planet. According to Guinness World Records, in 2005 one was recorded diving at speeds of more than 380 km/h.

KB, a PEFA in a stoop, like in that gorgeous photo, is one of the most beautiful things to see... Nature's perfect design! Aeronautical engineers watch and weep.  Thank you Bob Anderson and Company for doing the research and hard work that brought them back to successfully nesting once again in the Midwest!!  :-*
