Good Morning Beakers!

Phyl, love your cute little patriotic girl with her sparklers! Well, you made it through all that was going on yesterday. I hate it when the weather bombards the plants! Wow, that's a pretty long wait for the Geeks to come look at your pc!

Lani, looks like a good crowd at Green Valley Park, looks like entertainment in the shelter! I remember when we were young kids visiting Grandma and Grandpa in Bone Gap IL, every Saturday night there was a movie just off of the main street. Everyone came with their lawn chairs, and we kids had a blast (never watched the movie...). Did Mike make it home, I can't remember when he was coming back... Thanks for the Albatross update, I have never noticed that pretty black and white patch on their back between the wings! And the bears, time for salmon! Bet they are ready!

T40, thanks for all the good videos!

E4E, I have never liked fireworks, even when I was a kid. They were not allowed in our county until just a few years ago. Now they are everywhere, I hate those fireworks stands that pop up like  produce stands. Just always seemed like a waste of money... and I hate how it affects some people and animals.

baz, People don't land on their feet.' LOLOL

karen, sounds like you and Piper are getting along great, you are good for each other!

Lisa, so Misty is getting 'fixed' Monday, then she and Bandit can enjoy life snuggling.  If Raven isn't picked up Monday you are going to rescue him? So your uncle can pick him up from your house or will he be yours then? I know you want one of the kittens... ::) Saw this idea for you on FB:

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING BEAKERS

71 and hanging in there.  Some torrential downpours so far this AM.

KB  Somehow I missed the post of your very active sawing day and your noisy neighbors leaving for several days - YAY.  A blessed and peaceful 4th for you

PHYL    What an awful storm and now to wait "forever" for PC help to get functional again.  :(

LANI  That's a beautiful park in Payson.  :o   Look at that backround

KAREN  How is Piper with the fireworks?  Reading on I see OK

BAZI  Funny good night pic  ;D

CLYNN   LOLOL  black cat as the photo backround  ;D      Wild Heart - cute  ;D

Happy Sunday!

ugg, terribly hot and humid but I've already done the 3 W's...walked Ollie, watering, and wilting...
I'll move the sprinklers around all morning, do some hand watering where they don't reach and call it a day.

Tig - you and me both on the hope for rain....my weather app has varied widely the last few days...from 1 1/2 inch to now about a half an inch....means we won't know until Tuesday I guess.

My two love birds red tail hawks are sitting on the water tower....

Later.

Good Morning Beakers

T40 - Thanks for the Caturday vids!

tig - Jeff like peanut butter toast, and he puts butter on the bread first.  I have never had a PB&J with butter, tho.

tsk - Thank you  :-*  I don't know about all that brain-ful of knowledge, tho.  ;D  Stay safe with those rains!

oldguy - Hope the cards were good to you.

Phyl - Sorry about your Quicken. We had a 2010 Quicken program that used a CD.  Jeff made a back-up of the Quicken on a thumb-drive, just in case anything happens. I back up the thumb-drive once a week.   This past year we bought the newest Quicken program, which I think comes with online back-up too.  I hope you can get yours all sorted out.  :-* Cute 4th figurine.

kb - So glad you are having some peace.

karen - Oh no, on the fireworks starting already.  Glad to hear that things are going good with Piper.

E4E - Thank you!

baz - LOL, your "you were right"

Lani - Looks like a lovely evening to be sitting in your lawn chair in Green Valley Park.

clynn - I have to bring Misty up there, and let the vet look at her.  If they thing she is still too full of milk, she might have to wait a couple more weeks to get spayed.  Jeff's cousin who is saying she is adopting Raven, is in town at her Mom's house with her daughter who she is getting Raven for...wow, that was a mouthful!   ;D ;D mobile check background!

TIG    It has not stopped raining here.  Can't wait to see what is in my gauge. Hopefully this will bring us closer to getting out of the drought situation.

LISA  The thought of butter and peanut butter on the same piece of bread - impossible. :P

LANI  Love the AM pic.  Kitties enjoying the beach  :)  You win the prize for heat today!!

I'm waiting for the rain front to move through and rain to stop, tsk.  Stilll dripping here.  That was really a long-time downpour; at least no serious wind.

Haven't ventured out for newspaper.  No doubt soggy inside the plastic cuz my driveway is right next to street sewer, more than gets its share.  (Just made myself get my a$$ up to check instead of guess - Yep water still up to sidewalk line, couldn't even see plastic bag, no doubt paper has taken up snorkling.)

Yeah, sprinkler won't be needed tomorrow or next couple of days!

Good for you all getting rain! I'm only accomplishing 3 things on my list because it took longer than expected (almost 2 hours) to pick 30.5 ounces of black raspberries! Now sprinkling the garden and then recondition our leather love seat. I'll put other tasks off for another day. Time to get some more rest.

The haul, work area, close up, services berries in back (hot lips pink turtlehead plants ... late bloomers ... to left of windmill)

66 degrees and still raining.  I feel like sleeping today  LOL  Reading and crosswords on the porch listening to the rain.

The first eve NASCAR race is supposed to go on in the city today and tomorrow now I think as part has already been cancelled because of the heavy rain - a year to plan this thing and streets closed off in the city for days and some weeks making navigation a nightmare for so many.

I see where the Millers found DH2 perching regally at the back of the hatchery property in a pine tree early this AM

July 2, 2023 - DH2 Found … Safe and Sound
Any faithful Decorah Eagle follower would probably agree that fledge time can be one of the most worrisome times for us humans. After watching for the last 86 days or so we have seen this fledgling hatch, grow, thrive, and survive the challenges of everyday Eagle life to get to the point where she is now ... ready to take wing and explore beyond the confines of her nest tree. (We're not sure of the gender, its just our opinion that its a female but we could be wrong.) We have all been wondering and watching to see if she returns to the nest for some much needed feeding.
Well, the wait is over and we have good news to report. DH2 was located this morning at about 8:00 AM in the pine trees near the back of the hatchery property. We had been in Decorah all week waiting to see the fledge and, in spite being on site over 12 hours a day, missed the big event. So we have been searching ever since. This morning, at that hour, there was almost no human activity at the hatchery. At least one parent had been at the nest before we arrived and sounded a peal call for her. But she did not return to the nest and the parent eventually left. The only sounds were coming from a murder of crows in the back of the hatchery. That was a clue worth investigating. DH2 was found perched very regally in one of the pine trees there. The crows were squawking up a storm and they eventually chased her out of the tree. She flew westward, and amazingly well for a newbie. The crows seemed to give up the chase about half way to the cow pasture next door. DH2 appeared to land in the field just before a tree line near that property. She looks strong and obviously capable of moving about wherever she wants to go.

Good morning Phyll and bes, krtd!  Going for a second cuppa!  Piper had breakfast and will have to go out in a few minutes!  She was good with last nights fireworks!  BestI have had.  I had tobmedicate quite a few,  no amount of cuddling, loud tv, would help!  My male tzu, Bogey, wanted to sit in the car!   Poor things.   Sat out with Piper earlier and noticed the humidity seemed higher than yesterday,
Weather is hotter than usual!   Thankfully no derechos!

So glad you and Piper are doing well together.  Some animals do well w/fire works. My cats just either sleep in a chair or snooze underneath a bed. No meds used.
Pats to Piper from me and Purrs from Maggie.
