Good Afternoon Beakers

Have been out and about this morning getting a few things for Jeff.  He thinks he may have a kidney stone.   :-\

Puff - Glad that you and tsk had a nice afternoon.

tsk - I think the sit up thing is called a Boppy, don't quote me on that tho!  ;D  Cute morning greeting! I will need to win the Lotto to take the boat cruise on the Mighty Mississippi!

karen - My mama says the same thing about Sydney, that she looks older than she is.  She just turned 2 months old yesterday!

E4E - Thank you  :-*  I do not like getting my eyes dilated either.  I get a dull headache for a couple hours after.

BrokenLug - Sounds like you are having a great time.

Phyl - Yep, good eyeball appt.   :D  Loved Romper Room. I had a Mrs. Beasley doll.

Lani - Hope they can repair your glasses.  Thanks for the kind words on Sydney.

clynn - Sydney does look like she is reading the book.  Bradley had a video of her, and she was making cooing noises at it, too. Beautiful theater, and great pic from SueB.

kb - Beautiful kitties this morning.  Glad you are feeling somewhat better.

Lori - Love the October post and the yummy goodies!

Good morning Beakers!
Morning Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Tsk, Lisa, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eagles, Kb, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, Jilltosa, BL, Eburg, Weasel, Ezee, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Omasawyer, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

{{{Hi Lori and Destini!}}} Love your morning Halloween pups/kitties and of course Krispy Kremes!  ;D :-*

Eagles, Glad you had a nice day with your friend.... I'd love to tour Sherman House too.

Kb, "It's Howdy Doody Time!" LOL! ... nice that you had a good walk  ;D , maybe she could introduce another dog slowly to Ollie, as we do with Sadie, and then they can become pack buddies. On our daily walks we meet two owners with their dogs Molly and Dresdin, and sometimes Scottish Terriers Archie and Lillie join us.

Clynn, I'd love to tour the Hoyt Sherman place.... nice pic of Lady and M this morning.

Tsk, it was very tragic news about Anissa Jones death, so young. Some child actors struggle into their adulthood... just read your post to Kb, Hawaii only had one channel CBS for a few years. Lots of great westerns as we've discussed here before.... wow that's a little more than $727 per day on the Mississippi! But I bet the trip is fantastic, as well as the meals. What river boat?

Phyl, Thanks for childhood memories and Fat Bear voting continues, Grazer has a good shot at winning today's votes ... lovely nature vid, winter's coming.

Royal Albatross discussion thread today!
Some chatters think the video and photos may be from the location or area around Quarry 23, UQ and Manaaki's nests of today!  ;D
And they are wondering about the 33 chicks from this past season and are they direct descendants.

Puff just sent me some info she has gotten recently about river boat tours in USA as we were talking about it.  $ 16,000 to go bottom to top on the Mississippi in 22 days!!  :o :o :o

Ah ha - my mistake (second one this month, don't recall specifics of the first) Anyway
while talking she mentioned the new Mississippi market again.  Specifically, Viking.  When I got home after lunch, luck be told, I had a mail posting from Viking.  So I just forwarded to her.

Qualifying my incomplete info - That's like looking at the sticker sheet of a car in a showroom.  I think by the time we look at new cars and the sticker - we know it isn't for real, set in stone.  The price she highlighted above could be even more for the date alone.  Again, not mentioned, I don't know how much research she did, BUT. . .

Not mentioned:  Ship is 3 years old, carries less than 400 total psgrs, all staterooms are outside, none inside, 15 ports of call, 22 days long she mentioned, includes 16 tours, 3 weeks breakfast/lunch/dinner, r/t Airfare and transfers, stateroom location, entertainment in evenings, some drinks.

As I mentioned I will go someday, I'll see what specials are offered and advise my clients accordingly.  Yes, sometimes I get agent specials too.  Trust me, I will not be opting for that highest class.  Trust me I Do Get Free.  >:(    I hope to be able to do the top to bottom river cruise; I'll see.  (tsk - maybe for my 90th)

One other caveat - These cruises are very hard to get.  I know at this point I would not count on anything for the '23 holidays!  2024 is probably half sold. Next?  All the ships, all 3 cruise lines, start taking waitlists at the beginning of summer, let alone fall color dates, and holidays.

That's some of the factors not mentioned in the eflyer I sent to tsk.

Tsk Jim and I took a cruise down the Cumberland River afew years ago.  It was wonderful!!  The evenings lounging on the bow w/drinks and the nights drifting off to sleep w/ the river movements and sounds.  You have to go! Either with Tim or Puff...you have to go. ;)

BL I'm sure you have by now...but The Aurora Borealis  is fantastic. I never saw it enough!  Looking forward to your adventures and photos.

CLynn

Phyl - I keep telling him to call doctor, and he says, I will see how I feel tomorrow.  Men!  At the moment, he is in the bed with a heating pad wrapped around him.

tsk - Oh, Tim having kidney stones on a plane...yikes!

tig - Hope you got your mowing done.

Lani - Wow, the Royal have been around a long time.

Bounce
I got the front yard done but I'm resting before I do the back. But I have great news. I see little baby grasses coming up along the sidewalk! I'm glad the critters didn't get all the seeds.

tsk -   Last year when I went to eye doctor, and got new glasses I did not like the strength of the bifocal part.  I felt like I had to bring everything closer to me, and I had a hard time seeing what I was cooking on the stove.  I called her back and told her that, and she had to lower that strength.  I feel like I can still see pretty good out of the script from last year, even tho she said it slightly changed.

baz - Your lunch sounds delicious!

A Sydney pic, or two :D

Lisa, Sydney is a cutie pie Jack-O-Lantern goblin!  :D :-*

Hi Bazi  'Fat Bear Week' is really getting popular! How cool that TWC is covering it too.  ;)   Don't you just 'luv' that EVOO dressing!

...

Phyl, I don't have a working refrigerator, so vinaigrettes are the only kind of salad dressings I can use right now.

Des Moines Haunted Stories & Tours - Hoyt Sherman Place, Des Moines, Iowa.
Built in 1877, Hoyt Sherman Place was formerly the family home of Des Moines postmaster Hoyt Sherman. The house is attached to the theater.  https://hoytsherman.org/mansion/

Clynn, the Hoyt Sherman Place is pretty spectacular! I was hoping to see a picture of the outside of the house, so I went to your link, but only found interior shots. I also found this blurb there about Hoyt Sherman - https://hoytsherman.org/about/  He was the youngest of 11 children!! And he was from a well-known family. He sure gave a lot to Des Moines.

Sepia toning of photographs was used from the 1850s to 1920s as a means of adding color to a picture as well as doubling the life of the picture as it blocked harmful sun rays.
It cost more to make the pictures, but many chose it for the soft look as opposed to B & W
