Good Morning Beakers

Morning oldguy, karen, Puff and all  :)

tsk - We must be getting some of your weather today.  Jeff forgot his electronic badge to get into the building this morning, and I had to drive over to bring it to him.  Not a drop of rain in the sky till I got off the bridge on the Annapolis side, then it was like a heavy down pour all the way to his work and back home.

Phyl - I remember reading that about Steve Buscemi.

Lani - Oh my gosh, the bee stings!  I hope you are feeling better, especially the one on your head.

kb and tig - Sorry about your teams  :(

E4E - I am surprised Lizzie/Ziva did not recognize us either, but both Jeff and I played with her too while we were there.  She is a friendly kitty.  Did your grandson win his game?

baz - Yes, this was Mama's first time seeing Sydney on FaceTime.  Bradley sends Mama pics of her when he sends them to me and Jeff, so she gets plenty of pics.

clynn - Glad to hear that your wrist is feeling better.

Early morning fog - sunny later - high of 71

Lani - So sorry to hear about those wasp bites you endured.  Hope you heal soon.  So glad Mike took care of them.

Tsk - Hubby had a great day at the car show; he won a plaque for best of show for '1980-present' (Delorean is a 1981).  He is a social guy and enjoys all the folks!

Tig - Congrats on your Bro's trophy win at the Ford car show!

Oldguy - Good info for wasp solution.   Thank you for Kilauea info & link.

Kb - Vikings  :(    It is amazing how Ollie is so alert & aware that if anything changes at all, he brings your attention to it! :)

Phyl - Good story on actor Steve Buscemi - thank you for sharing.

Clynn - I did enjoy my afternoon at our Grandson's fb game yesterday and they won!  Weather was perfect too (not too hot)!   Glad your wrist is better  :)

LisaG - Nice to know that Lizzie/Ziva is doing so well & happy - I'm sure you both love to see her! :-*   Wonderful that Bradley sends his Grandma pics of Sydney too!! ;D

Hi Puff, Karen, Lori  :)

Always remembering 9-11

some bounce

E4E - Congrats to your hubby! Awesome...

Ok... what the heck? Who is next? I've been in and out last night after dark and early this morning setting and moving the sprinkler. After coming inside one time this a.m. I made breakfast and then went to the bathroom. I heard a loud buzzing. I located the Large bumble bee and removed it. Yipes! Did he/she come in on my person? Or just fly in? Shivers...

Jim was still flying corporate during 911 --- FAA grounded all non essential flights. He was stuck in Joplin , Mo for a week. I got up late that morning as my habit back then turned on TV for The Today Show and lo and behold Matt Lauer was commenting on set and the picture was the first tower just as airliner struck. I was flabbergasted and stunned at the least.  One can only imagine what those people went through!

{{{Lani}}} I've been stung by wasps. And those hurt like H377 !  All I know is bees and wasps don't hang out together as wasps will kill bees practically on sight.   Especially at the hive entrance as wasps love honey and will kill bees for it.    Do take care esp on the 'ol noggin .  That really smarts. So sorry.  :(  Hope you're doing better today!

OG thanks for the proportions for the hornet lure/poison. ANd, the 'Rescue' info.  ;)     And appreciate the other links, read later.

CLynn tks for Sydney Sea Eagle update, luv the snaps

Lisa I rather doubted Lizzie would remember you as she was so young when you gave her up to AC.  One day you will bring Sydney's Great Grand Ma to meet her. What a joyous day.  ;)

E4E congrats to your grandson on his f/b game win

T40 enjoyed the 911 post

Tig never knew a bumble bee to attack ; I've had them light on my shoulder or hover in my face. I think the main thing is not to panic or bat /grab at them.
That way  they don't get defensive. Be my guess. Take care.

Love this picture...

Morning all, been very busy since early this morning.

Sorry Lani, sounds awful about the stings...and on your head!.....ugg, my one sting or two? on my finger has only just now stopped itching...8 days....the ice worked the best for me...
Saw several yellow jackets in the grass while I was watering this morning.

Also watched a cooper's hawk fly through my back yard, chase and I hope not catch a smaller bird....I was watching all the birds come in as I aimed the hose high to reach my lower hydrangea, they appreciated the water.....lots of warning calls too.

Later.

Good morning Beakers!
Morning Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Tsk, Lisa, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eagles, Kb, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, Jilltosa, BL, Eburg, Weasel, Ezee, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Omasawyer, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

{{{Phyl and Jim}}} Mike was to fly out of Wichita, KS for a trip to CA that September 11th afternoon... of course, I pleaded with him to cancel immediately, but that wasn't necessary. We'll never forget that day, or the day JFK was killed. There are some days that will live within each of us forever.  :'(

{{{Tig}}} ugh, a bee.... I understand... you take care  :)

Eagles, Congratulations Kris and to your grandson!!! A successful day for all!!  ;D

Lisa, Glad you arrived home safely after the rainstorm. Is it still raining?.... you know how cats are, very unforgiving when you leave them. Ziva was probably doing a fake ignore on you. LOL!  ;D ... Milo is the opposite, when I return home, he starts his demanding high pitch meow! over and over! I literally run and open a can for him before I do anything. He's got me trained. ::)

Oldguy, We followed your suggestion and ordered the "Rescue" trap which arrives Wednesday. I'm going to make the vinegar recipe this morning. Thanks  :)....  Shannon sent us a text about Kilauea after I posted in the Beak. Madam Pele is letting her feelings be known.

{{{Clynn}}} I think the compression gloves will help, I'd use them. Mike uses c socks now and it makes a difference  :).... I hope your wrist continues healing, I think the  yep, if Hellgate chatters say it's Iris, then it is. There are at least 40+ that keep a close watch from the dead tree, owl pole, nest, and you remember how she would go to the stadium lights at night sometimes. As long as I see the fencing up around her nest, I know she's still there and watching over her territory. Bless her.... Sea Eaglets  :-* ....  22 years since 9-11, it doesn't seem possible. In some ways it feels like yesterday.  :'(

Phyl, wonderful story of Steve Buscemi, so many unsung heros of that tragic day. Thanks for posting.

Tsk, Bees are still active, I'm going to try Oldguy's recipe. I didn't sleep well last night, the bite on my head has a sore area. Like I had been hit by a board or something. I'll call pest control if the vinegar/sugar/water doesn't work.... oh my 9-11 porsche.  :)

TIG   Thanks - quite an honor!  Does he have a trophy case?  ;)   Oh no - Bee in the house.   :o :o   How did you get it out?

CLYNN   Wrist is better - Yay.    Did some errand driving today and 911was the focus of WGN talk.  Every time this story is reviewed I hear about different sad experiences.

OLDGUY   Gee what is going on with the Hawaiian Is. ???   Raining here all day so will check my gauge later   Very interesting piece by Lesley.  I would have flunked that quiz hands down!!   ;D ;D    That "Rescue" product looks very interesting BUT it seems you would need to buy a whole new unit each time you emptied the dead insects - UNLESS they sell the fluid attractants separately?

LISA  I believe that you don't have to drive far  to see such a difference in weather.  Jeff needs to keep his badge in the car?  LOLOL

EAGLES   WOW  congrats to Kris - Have we ever seen a pic of this car?  Hope this bodes well for my bro at the end of the month with 2 bros already winning prizes  LOL

T40   beautiful.

KB    (((whale)))

LANI   Gee, didn't think 911 til you posted it that way . ???

((Clynn)), I hope your wrist keeps getting better faster. Take care. Hugs.  Oh, I did not get to watch the tennis... it was blacked out on TV for Charter/Spectrum cable TV subscribers!!  >:(  I don't know why you and Tsk thought I got to watch them... LOL!  Because I went on and on (and on! LOL) about finding a radio broadcast so I could listen to the finals this weekend.  The radio did not let me watch them!  ;) ;D

((Lani))  OUCH!!! That's awful! I hope those bites get better fast - especially the one on your head!!  Love your post and pic today of Manaaki!  :-* :-*

Today has been a really straaange day around my house! Well, this morning was...  ???  Stuff in my neighborhood, LOL, not inside my house, thankfully.  ;)  I'm going to stay inside the rest of the day!!  8)  ;)

Wishing a Happy Day for All the Beakers!  :)

My niece and her family all got home last night from Alberta, Canada, and today was my Littlest Greatniece's 1st day of Kindergarten!  :) :-*

Lori - Wonderful 9/11 post and pics.  Jeff and I would love drive to Shanksville, PA, and visit the Flight 93 memorial.

tsk - I do not know how he forgot that badge this morning.  It was right on the dresser next to his wallet.  He didn't forget that.   ::)

Lani - Thanks for the Royal video.  The rain had stopped about an hour after I arrived back home.  LOL, Milo!

kb - Love that picture, too.

Phyl - If Mama doesn't come here, I am sure we will go down there and visit her.  She is thinking about spreading my Dad's ashes this coming April, so we might all make the trip for that.

tig - Yikes, on the bee!

T40 - Good 9/11 post.

E4E - Mama enjoys getting pics of Sydney from Bradley.

Lisa, oh lawww... you had to get Jeff's badge!  There was very tight security where I used to work. If we forgot out badge, even if the security guard on duty at the door knew us, we still couldn't get in, of course. The main entrance security guard desk had a list of the senior management, and their phone numbers, who were allowed to sign in people who had forgotten their badges. The guard would call one to come down to the main entrance to sign in the person who didn't have their badge. Embarrassing! LOL. Then we had to wear a stick-on paper Visitor Badge all day, or till we got our regular badge. That meant we didn't have a way to open the secure doors between whichever depts that our badges normally would've been coded to let us in. A real pain in the you know what, but at least we could get in after a person with those privileges came down to sign us in.
