Royal Albatross - 9/6
Only lightweight chicks were weighed yesterday. Six chicks, including UQ (Upper Quarry) chick were supplementary fed.
Manaaki is 229 days old today. At 221 days old he weighed 10.4 kg.

Early evening quiet time, last night with Manaaki.  :-*
Enjoy your day.

Kb, so your plant is a cutting from ssrl, good job, a very special plant indeed! I only watch my subscriptions channels too.

Tsk, I was very surprised to see one of the names of Lucy's cubs.  I had North American Bear Center on my Amazon Smile Charity list for many years, when that stopped, I started sending monthly food donations. This month I sent 5 lb bag of dried apricots. I don't know if they did chose my name, but I'm delighted.  ;D

Tig, overall not a bad day, especially the drive.  ;)

Eagles, I know how you feel when your post goes POOF!  :( ... I didn't know your son was in the USMC was stationed in Norway. How blessed we are for his service.  :).  Aly lived there three years, in one of the small fishing villages. She was an art teacher, love the people and the area. She brought back her dog Luna, a beautiful, sweet Portuguese Water dog.

SED Baz :)

Good night!

PUFF  I think you may be getting heavier rain than I am this AM

EAGLES  Gosh bummer on the lost post  :(

LANI   Albatross weigh a lot compared to an eagle  :o  Nice that you help with the food donations for NABC.   Using the wish list makes it easy.  :)
I know you've mentioned it before but of course I've forgotten.  What an experience for Aly to live in Norway for 3 years - a long time.  I bet she still corresponds with friends she made there.  Didn't realize Luna had come from there.

PHYL  Funny AM photo  ;D   That pup sure knew the drill  LOLOL  Even closed his eye when the scissors got close .

Good Morning Beakers!

tsk, I am also amazed at how huge an Albatross is compared to our eagles! On the weather channel it looks like you got some good rain this morning! We sure could use some, maybe this weekend.

karen, stay cool today!  Spaghetti strands! I agree, Lee looks like it may be mostly over the ocean, although anything is possible this far away...

Lisa, crossing the bridge again!

BL, here we go again...  :o

Phyl, can't believe how that dog cooperates with the groomer! He must love looking so dapper! Thanks for Amy's Blog on migration, traffic will be heavy on the Flyway today!  Our high today is 79! Windows will be open!

Lani, lovely video of Manaaki! I see up close that he still has some down, such a handsome boy.  Are they shutting down the cams today? I see it says last night with Manaaki... I am always saddened when they leave but happy that they made it! Our cooler weather starts today, looks like you will be cooling down by Monday... We can't wait for Autumn!

E4E, they need to come up with something like automatic saving! Then we wouldn't lose posts unless we wanted to delete them!  Thank you to your son for his service! Ed would say Oorah!

ezee, so good to see you and know that you are still among us! Whenever you get a few spare minutes, please drop in! I do hope you will be able to sneak some time next year to get some pictures, you loved it so much!

Saw a break in the grey clouds tsk so I went to check the guage, showing 1 1/4 inches.  South of me was worse - they were predicting 3-4 inch.  Last night most were saying it wasn't really thought we'd get anything.  Well. . . . .

How about you?  Whole different day  for tomorrow??

high of 73 today

Hi Bazi!

Lani - Loved the evening quiet time of Manaaki - cute!!  My son was stationed for about a month in Norway - he loved it there!  How wonderful that Aly was an Art Teacher there for 3 years - what wonderful memories I bet she has!!   I remember her precious Luna - didn't realize Luna came from Norway!    So nice of you to send food/donations to the North American Bear Center. :)

Kb - Gorgeous Anthurium plant - so special that it has grown from a cutting of SSRL's :)

Tsk - Yesterday, I had a butterfly on my yellow mums in my front yard, and a butterfly on my yellow roses in the back. :)

Bl - Thank you for 'Lee' info.

Phyl - My son would say thank you to you too!   Re; RRP, Great article on Migration!!

LisaG - Have a safe trip to Annapolis - stay cool. :)

Karen - Enjoy a nice evening - your temps look good!

Clynn - How is it for you on Wednesdays now that Bella is in school?!    Liked that Ed would say Oorah! Was Ed in the USMC?   Love your pics today; sweet duck & pup, and the 70's throwback  :)

Puff - We would like some of your rain over here!

Beakers have a nice day.

A quick pop in here:

I'm definitely multi-tasking this morning:
walked Ollie, started sprinklers, 2 loads of laundry, mowed, weed whipped the front, now hand watering.

I've gotten darn good at this actually with my timing..

No rain landed here last night...dumped to the east of us.....dang it....hence, watering.
Much cooler however which I'm grateful for.

Eagles4, that's so cool your son was in Norway for awhile....my ancestors are all from the Telemark area...both sides of my parents came over in and around 1865....and all landed permanently in Minnesota.
What does your son do these days?....if you said I've forgotten.

Later.

E4E  We did have a nice rain.  Just enough for yard to say AAAAAH.

But, careful what you wish for. . .You could be the nest Burning Man!  Funny note I read about the "festival".  They haven't had a recordable rainfall in 20 years, 2003.  Doesn't take much in a desert.
