TSK, somehow I had lost sight of how close Barb and Tom are to you and Tim. Nice to have them so near! Your leftovver salmon dish sounds so yummy! - right down my alley!  :D  Ditto what you said about Otis.  :-* :-* :-* It's hard for me to watch sometimes, knowing the struggles he has in those conditions and with his advanced age. Of course it's true of all, but seems harder with the ones we get to watch more and know better. (((OTIS))) I wish him successful salmon fishing and comfortable rests in his days ahead.

KB and PHYL, I hope all your family and friends in the impact areas from Hilary will be safe and not get property damage. I need to tune in to hear the latest update. The track does wiggle left and right some, and that can sometimes make a big difference in exactly who gets how much wind, rain, and flooding. Hoping for the best possible outcome from a dangerous storm.

Hi LORI! I can taste that coffee cake!  ;D It's right in my face!! LOLOL!  Mmmm...

some bounce
I need to be up early to move the car. The guys need to go through the garage to do the pour at 7 a.m. !
I hated any frilly, starchy, scratchy petticoats and dresses when I was young. But, that was a different time too.

KB   Cute shot of the deer in the bean field.  Do they eat beans?  ;)

TIG   Early in our marriage - Maybe the first Xmas - Tim bought me a white blouse with a frilly panel down the front.  Yikes - told him I was not a frill type since he hadn't noticed...LOL  I exchanged it.  Don't think he ever bought me clothes after that.   Set your alarm for tomorrow :o

[This is the pasta salad I cheated with for dinner that I made.

This has been on the market since the late 1980's---1988 to be exact. I first saw it on the shelves of Walmart---in Missouri  late 1980's.
As you all know---each supermarket chain has it's own buyers who listen to product reps promoting their products. And buy according the demands
of their areas.
This is part of  the 'Helper' line of  General Mills convenience foods .  'Suddenly'  is a part of that family of products.

Well here in Orange County, CA we have survived the first 13.5 hours of tropical storm Hillary. It has rained steadily for most of the day with only a couple short breaks. It’s odd for us to to have temps in the 70’s and this much rain. I keep thinking I should put on a sweater, but that would be crazy. It’s usually colder (by our standards anyway) and it’s just strange.  Our back yard has more water than I’d like but mostly due to the lack of gutters because of the construction of a covered patio cover we did earlier in the year and the house needs to be painted before the new gutters go up.

I’ve been surprised that we’ve not had as heavy rain as I thought we would. It’s been consistently steady. Still it’s a lot for us.  A bit of wind, but not what I expected so far. The good news is that it should held moisten the grasses  that grew profusely from all the rain we had in the winter and spring. It should help with lowering the fire danger levels locally. For those of you familiar with SoCal, I’m sure you understand.

The rain is expected through the night, ending about 5:00 a.m.

Sweet dreams to all.

Good Morning Beakers!

The Munchkins will be here around 7:30 so this will be a quick post! High will be 95 today, then 100, 102, 101 for the next 3 days.

Lani, those kitties look so cozy! Kelsey wanted to look at cats so Ed took her to the Animal Rescue League to look. We are not quite ready yet, but I guess she is... I am just not sure how Harley will react... Hope you get the rain you need but not too much!

weasel, nice to see you! Stay safe!

Ginger, I missed your birthday! Hope it was a happy one!

Lori, delicious looking coffee cake for Ginger, and a cute ginger fox card! Hoping you and yours are doing well...

Phyl, love the card you posted for Ginger!

tsk, I can't picture you in ruffles either!

Lisa, I so remember Sydney being the same way, especially 'no Barbie dolls'. Bella has probably 30+ Barbie dolls, Barbie Dream House, Camper, Car etc. And ruffles galore, she loves ruffles and lace. So just wait and see, things may change. Next spring anonymously mail this outfit to her, I bet she will wear it...  ;D ;D ;D

I wanted to share with you a picture of HD/Dude & Our Princess DH2 perched together on N1 ❤ In this picture Dh2 was already perched and HD/Dude flew in and landed on the same branch! HD/Dude is still feeding her! This happened many times you couldn't always see it because of all the leaves on the branches but you sure could hear it! 😉

Good Morning ...Happy Monday !

Currently 73 F sunny with    High  92F  mostly sunny,  Low 72F  clear skies.

{{{ Lahaina, Maui, HI }}}  🙏 's
{{{All those in the path of  tropical storm Hilary}}}  🙏 's

Hi Weasel- I'm originally from Riverside County the Mojave Desert part---I know that rain will come in  handy later.  ;)     So glad you popped in. Do take care.

{{{Lani Mike, Aly, The Boys, Sadie, Dewey/Kona}}}-relieved to know{{{ Shannon}}} will be 'fine' where she is.  Haven't been able to reach Dan.  I do know he will get some of the storm as Hil  passes up and over your way. Hope y'all will be okay.
Those kitties from last night---delightful

{{{Clynn, Ed, Kelsey and Harley}}} Went back and re-read your AM post. I don't think it's time for a replacement kitty for Honey.  I never replaced Mike when he died 10yrs ago. Also depends on which cat took the most attention during it's lifetime, who was the favorite. I would think Harley may feel slighted by new kitty right now.   That cute ruffled outfit might go over later on w/ Lisa's Sydney.  Mail anonymously  ;)   tks for sharing Sue's August 16, 2023 - Dad's & Daughters have a Special Bond.  Hope today's a really fun-filled day with Munchkins.

No Tsk, never pictured you  a ruffle wearing gal either.  ;)

{{{KB}}} 🙏 's for you family/friends too

Tks Bazi for Dan's good wishes

And, their new French Toast recipe .

Aprons Recipes

Praline French Toast
 4 servings
 25 minutes total
Ingredients
1 loaf Bakery Breakfast Bread
4 large eggs (or 1 cup egg substitute)
½ cup reduced-fat milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
½ cup pecan halves
2 tablespoons sugar
¾ cup maple syrup

Steps

1 Preheat oven to 200°F. Cut 8 (¾-inch-thick) slices from bread. Whisk eggs, milk, and vanilla in shallow bowl.
2 Preheat large, nonstick sauté pan on medium-high 2–3 minutes. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in pan. Dip 4 bread slices individually into egg mixture, coating both sides; remove and let excess drip off, then place in pan (wash hands). Cook 2–3 minutes on each side until golden. Arrange on baking sheet and place in oven to keep warm.
Repeat with 1 tablespoon butter and remaining 4 bread slices.
3 Add remaining 1 tablespoon butter and pecans to pan. Cook and stir 3 minutes or until lightly toasted. Increase heat to medium-high; add sugar and cook 2 more minutes, stirring continuously.
4 Remove pan from heat; stir in syrup. Serve praline sauce over french toast slices.

Morning all...a reddish sunrise this morning...bringing in heat all week.

Good news is that my cousin in Jamul and her horses are fine...she lives on a hill on the western flank of the Cleveland National Forest. We communicated throughout the day and evening.
I am aware of all the flooding areas elsewhere though...
Hope you are fine in AZ, Lani...
