Yes, Lani  that is the bear I've been watching.  Wow, he doesn't look to be doing so well.  Hope it's just a bad day.

But then, who/what's the one they're showing with the big gash in the leg?  Got some info from the post that's on the right, scrolled down for Aug 17.

P

Good morning Puff, Sweet Otis is in his office still fishing, best spot at the falls and a coveted place of honor. I wish we could have some of that rain.... The other bears continue to respect his place in their hierarchy, but there will be battles to prove he's worthy. They have have gashes and bites from fighting for a coveted spot. I've seen terrible ones and its amazing how the cold waters help the healing. A few weeks ago a cub was killed by a male bear.  :'( That seldom happens but it does and I didn't watch for a while after that. And the mother bear took her other 2 cubs down to the lower river to fish. I've been down through the chat roll and found a pic of Walker #2 in the bear's standing, he has a small gash on his leg. And he's had worse, a bite taken off his face. I'm not sure if that's the bear you're talking about. But, I watched a challenge of youngster Bucky challenging Walker for his coveted spot below the falls. Bucky lost that challenge and he will learn he's not ready for the big boys/girls yet. I keep Brooks Fall streaming on our main room tv screen. Mike enjoys watching it with a bowl of popcorn.

{{{CLynn}}}- what wonderful news about {{{Honey}}}  :-*  I'm thrilled for her and you all. I think she just has some really off days.  Your
love will keep her going.  Glad you have one more day with Bella/Talon before school starts. The liftback pops open when you drive?!  :o

{{{KB}}}- thanks for 9Mile Creek report--the goats will be a big help with buckthorn. All I know is once the invasive flora gets a
foothold almost impossible to destroy and clear out. Hope the goats do the 'trick'. Sending my best for your dad's family
your cousin with HH.  I don't think our HOA would do that with back fees/penalties. But! They will attach a lien for that.
Right now our's is worthless as  most homeowners are no longer interested in attending meetings and these rental-buy out
companies are buying up houses like mad. So the quorum is impossible to achieve when voting, etc.

Tsk-this AM's breakfast-yummy ;  our Autumn won't throw hints till late Sept. That will begin the 'sitting outdoors all day/evening'  ;D

Lisa- happy to hear your mom is improving; pretty tulips

Lani-  I like Otis and wish him the best. Every living creature has the hardships/challenges of aging. All we and them , can do is our best. For  the fauna it's
a matter of survival, I know.

Hi Puff

I envy folks that know how to get the computer on their flat screen TVs.  Our's is computer capable and not even Xfinity will tell us how to get this. Time to
check  with Best Buy guys.   Guess Jim will inquire when he goes to replace our Blu-ray player---he tore it up two weeks ago getting out a  Redbox DVD that got
stuck. He was having such  'fun' as it was a Panasonic and gave us  fits . I didn't even balk. Rather enjoyed watching the destruction.  ;D

Cherry had her bed against the front door, and when the post dropped onto her head,
what could she do? Eat it of course,

TGIF Beakers!
Morning Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Tsk, Lisa, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eagles, Kb, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, Jilltosa, BL, Eburg, Weasel, Ezee, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Omasawyer, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

Lisa glad to hear your mom's is improving each day. Love your morning pic.

{{{Clynn}}} YAY more time with the munchkins before school!  awww {{{Honey}}} bless her, sending wishes and prayers to you and Honey.  :-* ... Brooks Fall Rangers note Otis was first sighted in 2001 as an older sub-adult, so he's probably 23 or 24 years old.... it is the most frustrating thing when repairmen and they are usually men do not listen, (apologies to BL, Oldguy, Lilbro  :) I do not mean our Beakers  ) or seem to be dismissive about our descriptions about what's going on with our car or appliances.  ::) ... this last time I sent our service repairman an youtube video of the exact sound our washer was making, because whatever he kept doing wasn't working. I hope the warranty company approves and you can get your car repaired.... I'm laughing at the text from your sister Cathy.  ;D .. safe travels for them... stunning photo of Iowa's sunflower fields, this is my favorite time of year and then everything slowly turns into autumn.... Bone Gap is the place to be this time of year!

Phyl, love today's pet shames!  ;D ;D ;D

Kb, the goats will do their job well.... our community is trying to replace our HOA. We're hopeful that will be successful... prayers for your cousin's family... we're watching the weather too. The storms over California will head our way. And it's been cloudy since we woke up. By the way, a young coyote surprised us on our morning walk. As we were returning home, and just two long blocks away. Sadie jumped and barked which caught me off guard a young coyote stepped out from a bush just 15 feet from us. What a shock! I squealed which I'm sure woke up the neighbors, as well as the dead. I had to drag Sadie away, she wanted to go after it. And the coyote was not alarmed, and just followed us for a block. We continued walking home and would you believe the coyote was waiting for us.  :o It was standing in front of our garage door. Not frightened, just letting us know, it knew where we lived. Well, that set Sadie off even more. The coyote slowly walked away and left to the right of our driveway down the rocks and toward the back of our home. I just wanted to get Sadie in the garage and shut the door. Brazen little thing. If you see one, two others are always nearby, they travel as a pack, never alone.

{{{Tsk}}} prayers for Lynn and husband... I'm so sorry  :-*

{{{Eagles}}} I pray your mom is comfortable and recovery is going well.  :-*

Milo is helping with typing this morning pressed buttons, before I finished...  :-\

Oh Lani. how terrifying...so glad Sadie didn't pull you to the ground...Ollie would have me...I do carry mace when I walk him for that reason and unreasonable biting dogs that are loose...

I bought some more wolf urine to spray my property with every 2 weeks going forward....I have no idea or not if it helps other than to say I haven't seen one walk up my driveway since I started doing it..

I saw that the storm will trend into your area and Nevada as well..some of my relatives did also move to the suburbs of Vegas...

Reminds me while flying as a flight attendant in my early 737 days, Las Vegas got hit with a snow storm...they were brooming off the runway....LOL....they didn't have snow removal equipment in those days!..this would have been the mid 70's.....deserts aren't built for flooding nor snow!

Well I feel pretty lazy today and after watering this morning and planning on finishing my painting outside project I feel nah....doing nothing the rest of the day and that makes me feel a titch guilty...

(((CLYNN + HONEY + CATHY AND HUBBY)))  I love the pics of the Munchkins! You get a Bonus Day with them! I want some of that yummy Bone Gap chowder!!  Oh, you're about to get me started on the "deaf" men at the dealership Service Dept. There are some advantages to getting to a certain age. I am now the "mother from h-e-l-l" to them when I think it is required, and do not mind saying things like, "Let me repeat that, because you weren't even looking at me while I was talking to you, so I'm not sure you were really listening, and the details matter!" Don't get me started!!

(((TSK + LYNN + BILL)))

E4E, good news for your ((Mom's)) successful procedure!  Watch out for any heavy rains that may be coming your way in a few more days, from Hilary.

LISA, I'm so glad to hear your ((Mom)) is doing better!! For myself, at my age, and if I had a positive Covid dx, I would've changed doctors if I had gotten the same advice she did from the doctor.  :o

LANI, I'm glad you and Sadie got home safely! Sly coyote! Nerve-wracking, following you that way, and then looping around to "greet" you at home, like the Welcome Party!  Oh my... two shakes of a wet noodle at Milo!!  ;) :D :-*  (((OTIS)))  :-* :-*

I'm off to the store - shopping for me and my neighbor, who is in her mid-70s and has been ill for a month, and who also endured a late night in the ER last night, due to a very scary situation, that turned out to be a side effect (per the ER doc... ) from the dye with contrast scans she had yesterday morning to try to get to the bottom of why she isn't getting better over the past month of treatment. This morning, at home, she is showing a tiny bit of sign of that maybe starting to dissipate, thankfully... but it's a wait-and-see. She's never had any ill effects from dye with contrast for scans in the past, and neither have I, but I know I've always been advised of the possible significant side effects of that.

Waving to All the Beakers!

kb - You should rest, and not feel guilty.  You are constantly busy.

Lani - Adorable morning pic. Yikes, a coyote!  I can't believe it was standing in front of your garage door.

Phyl - Great pet shames!

baz - Thanks, just got off phone with Mama and she is sounding so much better.  How nice of you to look out for neighbor friend, and shop for her.   :-*

LANI   Thanks for the update on who's who at Brooks Falls.   The bigger the mammals get the harder to watch killing of their own.  :'(
A Youtube video of the sound of the washing machine- What a great idea  :o    I agree with you about the "essence" of fall on the horizon.  :)   WHAT a coyote story.  I would have been so afraid it would have gone for Sadie.  I forget - Do you carry something with you?.  Pepper spray?  And the fact that it was waiting for you  :o :o :o

PHYL   We had the BEST homeowners assoc in Door county ( maybe different than your HOAs)  when we owned there.  It was made up of the owners many of who had expertise in the areas needed to run the community.   Whole community was really invested in keeping it in the black and those that chose to rent their units had tons of regulations to follow.  Well run consistently with a very responsible board of directors.  Once a year meetings very well attended.  I think there were 74 units and less than 10% lived there year round.  Funny shames  ;) ;)

BAZI   Bet you do have some stories  ;D ;D ;D    Hugs to your neighbor and she's lucky to have you as a neighbor taking time to do the shopping.  I'm sure she really appreciates that.

We've got the yards (ours and Sadia's) all caught up.   willow tree shrubs all trimmed and cleaned out around.  Land's scaping trimmed/weeded and all.
They each  look impressive.   I used mom's cane and cleaned out nesting box #1. Checked on nesting box #2 and did a refresher. Now the BBs have a home for the winter again. We've had as many  6 adult BBs in each for the winter. I hope Jim turns #2 box around to slightly  face #1  instead of looking away toward Sadia's.

Our longtime neighbor across from us has told us he's gonna sell.  Says the house and all is too much.  Looking for an appt.  And, thinks we should follow suit.   Dunno.
We'll miss the BBs and they us.
Sooooo. Will interesting to see who buys.

...always carry pepper spray that goes for the two legged  as well.  ;)

KB- you put in the time in your garden and all. And, it shows! Certainly deserve some time out. I wish some folk here,  were more like you. Hope you're feeling better.

Lisa- tks for update on your mom. I know zinc is very beneficial for  colds and flu---so why not CoVid?

Lani- LOL Milo on the keyboard and poodle with wine. Tks for  more on Otis

Tsk- prayer candle lit for Lynn/hubby

Thanks everyone for your ongoing prayers for my friend Lynn and Bill.  Have not heard from her today and am wondering.

Was a gorgeous day here today.  We are picking about 20 Roma tomatoes every day for a week now  LOL  About ready to set up a little stand on the front parkway.  We're passing them out to everyone we know and my various groups at church are benefiting as well.  Think I may drop some at a food pantry too!!
