Peace out.

Nestled in here as a epic Canada July fireplace now wow's us.

Pip just met, I know some peeps from the road for connection sake.

The glee in her eyes was so priceless as was the picking.

Good Morning ...Happy Sunday !

Today...a high of  93F  partly sunny, humid at 98% and  high pollen count.
Our nighttime low 69F  with clear skies

Clynn -thinking of Erin, Sidney, Talon and Bella.   :-* to Honey

{{{Tsk}}}

Lisa-less than two weeks 'til granddaughter's arrival-excitement builds. Although I don't think Bradley/ Kelley would let the kitties too close to baby. But , would be interesting,  if not cute to see the kitties reaction to her.

BL-thanks for the song. A new one for me; LOL 'Got the Spider" an internet staple that one

E4E tks for update on your sister-glad to hear she'd doing well; Bet the car show was fun

Good Morning Beakers!

Phyl, love the cat driving Miss Chicken!  We are 65 right now, 85 today. Looks like the weather is calming down, next week high 70's, low 80's. So far...  ;D  Honey is hanging on, she is still eating, sleeping and using the litter box. That's about it though.

E4E, I could easily imagine that Kris could spend the whole day at a car show! Glad to hear your sister is doing well, the raspiness will hopefully go away with time...

BL, you and Pip keeping cool up there in Canada...  :)

Lani, Just when I think good customer service is a thing of the past...I called AT&T yesterday to cancel Kay's cell phone and I got the nicest, most helpful person! I always gave good customer service when I worked in retail, not so much anymore, if you can even find someone to ask.  And then I read about the guy checking with Mike on the car, now that is a good person, and to go ahead and send money! We got a card in the mail yesterday, it was from the realtor who helped us find this house back in 1996. Ed contacted him and he got Kay's house sold for Debbie in less than two weeks. And in with the card, a $250 gift card. We will remember him again when we are ready to sell... Hope you and Mike are having a nice, restful weekend.

Erin sent me a picture, they went to the Drive-In in Newton last night (30 miles from DSM). It was a sold out double feature, Barbie & Spiderman. Quite a set-up don't you think? They have the regular old speakers, but you can also get the sound on your radio! The kids were so excited!

tsk, prayers that Amy's cancer has been caught in time... she sounds like she is the rock of the family. What a cool picture!

Lisa, you better go out and get a few more baby things today!  ;D ;D Just don't wander too far and keep that cell phone handy!

tig, glad to hear you have a nice neighbor! Even if they don't remove the bush they will probably make sure to keep it trimmed!

Good Morning Beakers

clynn - Now, that is how you go to the movies!  I hope the munchkins had a great time.  I have my phone by me at all times.  I am waiting for that call.   ;D

tsk - Yep, this week is the week.  I believe Bradley told me that Kelly's mom is supposed to be coming from Florida today, and not sure how long she is staying.  And, not sure if she is staying with them or if she is staying with the brother, SIL and other grandbaby.  Wow, that is some eagle place!  Glad to hear that Amy has a positive attitude.  Continued prayers for her, and the family.

Phyl - Cute morning greeting.  I think Kelly is hoping we have a baby this week and not next.  She is big, and hot with this heat.

Lani - Beautiful kitty in your good night pic.

E4E - Thank you  :-*  Hope you had a great time at the car show.  Glad to hear that your sis is doing well.

karen - I think the tables have turned, seems as tho Piper is the sweet one, and Daisy is the troublemaker/Dora the Explorer. That reminds me, need to email jaspurr back.  I was in the middle of doing it, and we lost internet for a bit.

BrokenLug - That was one impressive storm.  The lightning, thunder and wind...wild!  All ok, tho!

Good Morning!  Piper and I are in the orange section of the US map where it says, Heat Advisory!   Not to complain as I still remember walking in Chicago, just iff of Michigan Ave in January with the wind off the lake. Tunneling between the high rises!   Brrr!

Tsk, there have been a lot of advances in the treatment if ovarian ca over the years and Amys optimism is truly to be celebrated!  Prayers for all!

Tig, I think the bush in your picture might be a forsythia.  The leaves look like one.

Clynn, love the eagle apartment!  Talk about a roof ornament!   Did the kids listen to the movies with the speaker or thru the radio?   Guess you would haxe to keep the car turned on!    Great double header for them!

Lisa, will they induce Kelly if the baby doesn't come on the due date?   I had a car that lost ac in Mobile and none of the dealers repaired them.  You got referred to a place called Auto air of alabama!  They repaired/replaced all kinds.  Wonder if that is still the case.

Hi Beautiful Beakers!!!  These yummy Cheesecake Stuffed Baked Doughnuts feature a fluffy baked doughnut coated in cinnamon sugar, stuffed with sweetened cream cheese, and topped with a dollop of raspberry jam.

Good Morning all! We only lost power a couple hours friday night which was super scary because the power was out and you could hear debris hitting the windows and the roof top from the 70-80 mph winds that night.  I am pacing in the basement in the dark with a candle and Destini texting Clynn  ;D The sirens were going off and warning blaring on my cell. Bless her heart! ((Clynn))  :-* I am grateful the eagles have fledged already in Iowa, praying they are all OK. Love ya all, take care and hugs & prayers...

Lori. Sounds a little like living through s small category 1 hurricane.  Get yourself a few battery operated lamps and flash lights.  Safer than candles.

Lani, today is Peytons big race!  Hooe he does well!   Let us know.

New "ride sharing" company, LOL

Whew, I've mowed my back yard hill (very long grass), watered my line of limelight hydrangea as they are getting ready to pop with flowers, weed whipped....esp. hard for me for some reason ?....

I am wondering tig - about that "shrub" being some kind of willow tree?...if so, someone planted it awfully close to a house!.
Although I know there are newer versions of them and also different species.

Here is my forsythia, following spring flowering and a close up of the leaves of a branch...willow leaves are thinner...i used to have a huge willow tree in my back yard....I miss it except for of course the pick up after any wind or rain, teehee.

Hello Beakers

Friday night in this area was interesting... ::)  Here is a replay of a Cedar Rapids TV live coverage as the storm came through...
Destructive 100mph storm hits Cedar Rapids live on TV (KGAN-TV July 28, 2023)   -   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teuGESFcvjs
An estimate of crowd size at the main camp of Ragbrai in Coralville was 20,000 at the time the storm hit.  At 8:15 it was announced for all to seek shelter at a Jr. High School, Rec. Center, City Offices and a nearby church for use as emergency shelters - all within 2 blocks of the park where the riders had set up their tents and a concert was set to go on at 8:30.  The Rec Center was kept open overnight for those that had damaged tents.  When the winds came in the temps dropped 20 degrees in about 15 min.
On Sat. it was announced that 2 tornadoes occurred about 40 to 55 miles E. of Cedar Rapids.

The riders left town Sat. morning on a street just to our north, so I stayed busy at home... ::)

Happy Day, Beakers!  :)

Lani, I hope Peyton has his best run today! I'm excited for him!!  :D :-*  That car seller is a "good guy." I hope the fix won't take too long, or be real pricey.

Karen, I never saw a forsythia with leaves like that shrub near Tig's house. But lots of different species, for sure.

KB, I never saw a willow that looked like that shrub near Tig's house. But lots of different species, for sure.

Tig, I have no idea what that shrub is.  I haven't been able to ID it, but I tried.

Lori, are you in your basement during a siren-warned storm today?? Stay safe!

Lisa, glad your power is back. I wondered how bad that storm line was at your house yesterday. C'mon baby!!  ;) :D My niece and Littlest Greatniece and their family live in Alexandria, inside the beltway. There was an  84-mph wind gust in DC during those storms yesterday. She said it was pretty wild around their house, and they lost power, too, but I don't know for how long. Luckily, they have whole house backup generator, so it came on, of course. They need to always have power to run the pumps that feed the TPN and all the meds into my LGN's CVC line, else she would require emergency hospitalization in the event of not being able to use the pumps.

E4E, glad y'all enjoyed a day at the car show!

TSK, I hope your daughter-in-law, Amy, gets some additional encouraging info... her positive attitude is some very good medicine, too!! Hugs, and prayers continue, of course.

Clynn, very nice of that realtor! Love that table setting with the large vase of pretty flowers/roses. I could sit at that table (and think  ;)  ) for a long time.  My father was a sitter and thinker, LOL, and he used to love to jokingly say the silly-sounding phrase, "Sometimes I sits and thinks. And sometimes I just sits."  ;D

BL, enjoy! I assume you and Pip are in cooler lands... glad you found a spot in Canada that isn't on fire! - well, except in that fireplace.

Oldguy, yikes! Glad you, and the RAGBRAI riders were safe! Re. your night of cards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5hWWe-ts2s - Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad - Meat Loaf  ;)

Beakers, last Thursday I mentioned it was a "planes and trains and automobiles" day/scratch the "trains."  LOL. My car becoming not usable was the "automobiles" part of that story. It's supposed to get fixed tomorrow (Monday), fingers crossed. Yay!  :)  The "planes" part of that day was referenced because my LGN, and all her family, were bound, early that morning, from D.C. to Boston, for my LGN's clinic visit that same day with her panel of specialists at Children's Hospital there. While they were getting ready to board their flight in D.C., they saw the tail of their plane catch on fire. !!  !!  !!  Yep, they did.  They waited 2 more hours, till their flight was then cancelled. No mention of the fire was ever made to the passengers - just the long delay, followed by the cancellation. They went to baggage claim and waited a very long time, and their checked bags never arrived, because, as they learned, their 2 checked bags had been put on a different plane to Boston. Well, they were no longer going on to BOS on any other flight that day, because there would be no way to make their clinic visit, so there was no reason to go. The clinic visit, and the trip to BOS, are now re-scheduled for another day. One of their 2 checked bags has made its way back to them. I don't know if they've gotten the other bag back yet. The re-scheduled hospital clinic visit and trip to BOS will not be a family trip - only my LGN and her mom will go - it will be a long day of same-day round trip flights, with the clinic visit at the hospital... what our family calls "doing the Boston Marathon." Days off from work had been taken by both parents for the trip this past Thursday, that got canceled, and both little kids had a very long wait at the airport, only to end up driving back home. Thank goodness, all four of them are very resilient!!  :-* :-* :-* :-*
 Tomorrow is another day.

Waving to All the Beakers!  :D

karen - I had not thought to ask Bradley about the inducing question till you asked me.  He replied, and said, if she does not have baby this week they will induce on August 10th.  And, looked up Auto Air of Alabama, and it seems they are still in business!

Lori - The Cheesecake Stuffed Baked Doughnuts sound delicious!

Lani - Beautiful tweet, and sweet pup with the butterfly.

kb - New "ride sharing" company  ;D

oldguy - Thanks goodness the Ragbrai riders had some place to seek shelter in the storm.  Thanks for the videos, and for the info on the Q-Kids video.  Bellamy is growing up!

baz - I need to practice your Snoopy.  Bradley lives not too far from your niece and lgn, and he did say the winds were wild over there, too.  Hope the next Boston Marathon trip for Punkin goes smoothly.
