some bounce

Yep... the whole pontoon thing is new to us. It is great for us for getting in and out. Not as great for fishing, but it is a trade-off. I'll need to get up earlier tomorrow and see what I can scare up.

Staying off the lake during midday while the "idiots" are screaming around making waves in all manner of fast craft.
Sat outside for a while with the lady from the next cabin and I saw a BE circling the next bay. I saw 2 trumpeter swan and 2 loon this morning. Also, a muskrat and a great blue heron.

LISA   Garden turned out beautiful for Memorial day  :)

KB  Do believe in a couple days we will officially be in a drought.  Boy, I used to do all that mulching myself but no longer. That's a back killer.  Take care.

TIG   Can't beat the nature you see if the fish aren't biting.  Tim's bro has a pontoon boat in Fla and has no problem fishing from it.  What don't you like about it?

Lisa nice cappa this AM; Mama Misty has it under control  ;)  I enjoy a Rum&Pepsi with South of the Border dishes. Potted Vincas are pretty.
Our Old  Glory will be flying at halt staff and a mouring ribbon too. as of after 12AM.  Pourch decor of Red. White, Blue firecracker blooms

KB  handsome Alaskan wolf.  Those we love never truly leave us.  ;)   🙏 's   I too fret about the wildlife at this time of year with all the pyrotechnics.

Hi {{{Puff}}}

CLynn  For me , time to get the walking shoes on and one in front of the other, commences this evening. Erin/Sydney will have a nice time on the cruise.  I may have missed this---Talon/Bella going  on the cruise ,too. Arent they? And, to the wedding?

Lani tks for the Bear Study from Dr. Rogers. Holly / Steele    Fire  :o :( :'(   So glad all are well. The bear  lineage is fantastic

Karen 🙏 's   ;     slowly and surely your 'place' is getting back up to 'snuff'.   If I recall---Ashville, NC is lovely.  Two Harbors and Sauces nests are my faves. Luv those BE families.

Tig
'idiots' on the lake. I get it. Whatever you 'scare up' will be yummie. Hope you two have lots of fun.

Hi Bazi nice Sunday

When I fished in a fishing boat I was sitting in the driver position and could react readily to conditions as I fished. And I was closer to the water which made it easier to land a fish. Now when I'm driving the pontoon it is so high up and of course there is the console. So... I sit in another seat but if I am not at anchor I have to get up and get in the driver's seat to react. So drifting and casting is not the best. I will get used to it. It will work better for stationary fishing with a bobber and live bait I guess. Or, I need to get up early when it is calm if I want to cast for bass. I did purchase a larger, longer net to assist.

Phyl - Thank you for all info & pics. :)  Cute pic of DH2.  Hopefully Jim gets to get off work early tomorrow?

LisaG - It doesn't sound easy to try and get the kittens to eat food - maybe as they watch Piper, they will get the idea. :)     Just saw your beautiful Vincas and, you truly are ready for Memorial Day - very nice!!

Kb - Like your morning pic!  I remember that you would share stuff about the BE's with Scott.  I know he loved & enjoyed them too. :)

Clynn - Wow the pic of the beautiful bush you took while visiting Willie is so gorgeous - sure hope it is still beautiful.  Cute pic of Talon & Bella at the graduation!

Karen - I am glad you told LisaG not to worry about the kittens not eating 'food' yet, because you are correct in that Misty will see to it that all the kittys start eating food.  I'm sure they will soon! :)

Kb - You sure have been busy in your yard - I bet it is so pretty out there! ;D

Puff - Have you been out in the yard? :)

Hi Baz!

Tig - I too, would stay off the lake while all the boating action is going on!  Wonderful that you got to see all those species!!  Fun!  8) ;D

Lani - Hope you are having a nice weekend  :)

Tsk - How was your walk today?  :)

Hi Oldguy - Do you have Memorial Day off work?

Lori - Thank you for all the pics!

Beakers have a good night. :)

I personally don't ever forget why we snap to the flag of the United States of America on this day.

We hoisted a really old family NAVY flag that is sacred, the respect of salute made me cry.

Yep, E4E still outside working on the yard.  Hope to finish before leaving for ATF.   :(  Old body with issues and all the wise advise from friends and drs makes for slow going.  Plus, there's a real issue of water.  Heard early this a.m. that it is the second driest May on record.  Still being aggrevated by sprinkler guy who has to open things up.

Lani still haven't found a decent left over sunpatient.  Really a hot item!
