BAZI  Good news to hear you were at the low end of all those rain fall reports.  That is one heck of a lot of rain.  I'd be thrilled with just 1 inch of it  LOL

PHYL   Open invitation to bake something for Eddie!!!  Our neighbor at our back yard reached a bakery box over to Tim while he was working out there this afternoon.  Two individual strawberry shortcakes of 4 that he will toss unless we eat them - His dtr who lives with him isn't home this weekend.  They are really nice people who currently rent but I think would like to buy.

LORI  You were really busy baking today  ;D ;D

LISA  Gosh If I lived next door I could have loaned you my tent!!!  You did a good cut and paste job to keep them contained tho.  ;) ;)   The days are taking forever and having to be so uncomfortable is not fun.

CLYNN  You are so funny.  Puzzle it is!   Yes  I have 3 knock-out roses I have had for 14 yrs or so and yes if you see the Asian beetles on them you know you have grubs in your lawn.  I got after Tim to get the first application of Grub-X down after the lilacs were done and in another week or so he will do another dose.  You can pick them off and drown them and then spray the roses.  If you keep up with grub ex in your lawn, in my experience you don't get the beetles and if you do - just drop them in water ( which I keep right next to them)
Rosie and Richmond with more attractive decoration in their nest  ;D

KB  Only one year I had Asian beetles of the 14.  Rabbits have never touched them and we have a lot of rabbits.  But you have many more roses and different types that obviously the rabbits in your neighborhood love .

EAGLES  Can you imagine the quick job Dad had to do to get that toilet hooked up  LOL esp with little kids  :o

clynn - Ya like that fancy playpen, huh?  I am still looking for my pot of Vinca's.  I have stopped at Home Depot twice and they did not have them yet.  What are Knock Out roses?

kb - Sorry about your climbing roses.  They sure were pretty.

tig - Yay on your honest estimator!

E4E - Thanks...we were getting tired of having to run in the room every 10 minutes to see if one of them was out of the pool.

tsk - Awww, you are too sweet to offer tent, if you lived next door.  I really thought the playpen I ordered would have been here already, but it says, Tuesday from Amazon.  I also ordered one from Chewy...fingers crossed it will be here tomorrow! Agree with your statement....The days are taking forever and having to be so uncomfortable is not fun.

Have a good night, everyone!

No, we just have hundreds of rabbits on my street alone....people must be feeding them.
so many they starve when we have 90 inches of snow in the winter with ice and attack everything...many people lost lots of landscape this year...they ate all the bark on my 3 climbing roses, smokebush, and rhododendrum to name a few...that kills them.

Also, Asian beetles love Linden trees and other trees as well..there is a linden tree 2 houses down from me that is huge...I think Tig got hers taken down?

The problem is they have migrated from the east to west...The UofM Extension service has written about them for years with updates...some people in my neighborhood also bought those awful bags that killed them but actually increased the numbers in the neighborhood...shouldn't be sold.

I have used grubex every year but for the year Scott died, and paid for it in my lawn..now mostly recovered. Their cycle is app. 3 years then milder and then another round of 3.

Many new homeowners in the neighborhood didn't do anything preventative with their lawns and the whole neighborhood paid for it....bottom line though. Asian beetles are always around to some degree and one must be vigilant....esp. if you want roses.

so, so many people in my community complaining they have totally destroyed yards this spring. I'm not sure how much of it is from them not watering during our 2 year drought, and how much is grubs.
Probably both.
Luckily I have emerald green grass this year..

Very informative info and many more posts on same link.

Okay after reading everyone's replies I knew I missed somethings.

Lisa The 'Knock Out' rose is a low-maintenance flower that is relatively pest-and-disease-resistant. It features one-and-a-half inch in diameter flowers in coral, yellow, pink, and white varieties. The rose is a shrub that grows up to six feet tall and can spread four feet wide. Knock Out roses are among the most popular roses in North America. The rose was created by Will Radler, who cross-bred roses to create a new disease-resistant rose.

Re: your surgery time on Monday, at least you'll have some little bit of nourishment in your tummy.
Luv the photo of Ms. Misty and her kid-os.

KB I should post a photo of my roses--some little black  coating on the blooms and leaves. I thought it was a fungus and bought a fungicide spary.
After your posts I bet its those beetles  eating the two alive.!  Roses aren't out a month and feast time.

Lori Devil'f Food cake day--- ;D  You got me with the cakes!

Eagles yep! That's what they're called. ;D

tsk Just because it was mentioned twice.  None here either.  We had about 1/2 hour of gentle rain.  When I went out to water plants the guage had so little I only got a couple drips when I turned it over.  None on the program for the next few days either.

Clynn thanks for the Crow up date on the armadillo  pup.  Getting darker coloring---growing into it's ears.
Great photo of Rosie and Richmond at SF Bay. That's one determined  looking pair
LOL story about your friend not going camping anymore.

Tig refreshing that there are honest tradespeople around.

{{{KB}}} Still no relief with that smoke from Canada---hope you get some soon!  Will remember Neem Oil. That was an awesome rose bush! I have wild rabbits that use our yard as a restaurant --we have wild clover and strawberries. So I guess that's why they don't munch my roses. On the other hand , LOL, mine aren't as lovely and healthy nor desireous as yours.

Lani nice for you this is the last meeting for a while.  You can come up for 'air'.   Will you have an assistant or are you  transfering the positon to someonelse?

Bazi Friday poster,  ;)  I re read your post about the rain . Glad you were on the low flood end of the storm. But, sounds like more on the way for you. Let's
hope your ground isn't too satsurated from the past days. 🙏's

Tsk
LOL Eddie and his open invite to bake for him. I'll do that sometime   esp when he helps Jim w/ mowing. I was telling him about the Explorer.org and their live African cams. And, how  wrapped up in them I've become. He even complimented me on pronouncation of
the African names. But,  I think it was how I rolled the 'R's"
Said his youngest daughter would love  seeing the cams. So I gave him the Explorer link and all.
Wow strawberry short cake from a bakery---yummie. Pretty cool being married to one's doc.  Come to think of it, some rental agreements come with an option to buy, applying the rent to the mortgage. Not the situation, I suppose?
I can't find Maggie's pedicure scissors  ::)  Bet they're in  the last place I'll ever look  ;) LOL

Puff no rain for you either? Shucks. Be glad to share with Beakers  if we get any.   ;)

Well, guess I'm caught up---who knows?

Just want to clarify....rabbits don't eat my roses in the summer....only in our drastic winters....
they now eat the grass and I pretty much have made sure I don't have too many perennials anymore they like to eat..they did eat my tulips though...

You will see me when Ollie alerts me running out and saying shoo though!... ;D ;D...I have to get pretty close to them to see them scamper out of my garden.

Sure post a pic Phyl....It may just be black spot like you thought...hopefully anyway.

Kb - That is sad about your roses.

Tsk - In later years, my Dad always cautioned us to flush the toilet before renting or buying! ;) ;D

LisaG - I recently went to Lowe's and bought flowers and looked for Vincas, but didn't find any.  I didn't ask if they had any, i just looked all over and didn't see any.

Puff - At least you got a couple of drops of rain  :)

Beakers have a good night & sleep well.

Good Morning ...and Happy Caturday !

Currently   69F  with a   High 73F rain. And, Low 53F  clear skies.

Sending   ...🙏 's .

Lisa the reason we have 'fake' shrubs up front is most of the originals died from 'something' that was in the soil bed. We kept replacing them and endedup spending hundreds evey year. I got tired of OHH HOA 'rules' and the issue in general . I finally threw caution to the wind and bought the faux boxwoods.

Lani  camouflage

KB gonna rain but will take a snap of rose bush later/post. Thank you.

Hi BL wet tootsies from /on the outer banks.
