BL - You know Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks?! I'm green with envy if you do. If you're "just" down with their music, I get you. No one I know is even aware of them. Lonely...

May not get on early tomorrow.  Off by 7:15 AM for an MRI.   Have been virtually incapacitated for the last week  - unable to stand longer than 2-3 min at a time before needing to sit.  Wait Wait Wait for test and appts.  Have a lot of pain back lying so don't know how this will go..Will be on later as I have PT after that if I can get there on time.

Tsk
so sorry to hear all this going on with you!  Knowing how you feel, I do hope that the MRI is informative. And docs can get to  and remedy the cause quickly
Gentle hugs. Praying you have a more restful night and all.

Rose Bowl, Part 2, My extra comments, questions answered, and additional observations:

Lani   For my being a snow person -- I found the rain wasn't that bad at all.  I was    soaked to the gills by 7pm, too.  But the memories are unforgetable and    unbelieveably fantastic.

Jasper    I was in the bleachers at the parade, row 3, not on a float.  But, I was        waving a virtual wave.  LOL

Good words from E4E, maybe I'll take up an offer for a SFO tour. I connect there sometimes, you never know when I might call.

This was a long-time want of mine.  It was everything I waited for, and everything I hoped for. It  is a new 2023 positive after one helluva year for me.

Thanks again group for all the best wishes and consolations.

Just heard local school bus drop off kids - and life goes on.

Flight back was in the one-of-a-kind category.   Very bumpy, huge dips, puffy clouds gray and white, thrown to and fro and bucked, no blue seen at all the last hour.  Landed 3 seeonds after finally spotting land.  Oh good, land!  Pilots really earned their keep today.

If you are taking I'm giving all my best to you all-- Happy NewYear.  Prayers for your 2023.

Even entertaining were the extra helpers marching in the parade.   For instance, THe squads of poop scoopers (with shovels) do routines and get roaring applause.

Did I mention?  It was me and my closest 94,000 fans at the game.   Same jets who did flyover at parade did it for the big crowd at the game.   Change of equipment after a problem earlier in December.   This year it was two B-1B Lancers from the Elsworth/Dyess AFB in South Dakota.  Loud, scary, and low.  Because there was open airspace (no tall buildings or hills) I guestimate 200 maybe even 100 foot altitude.  Too busy gawking to be certain.  They rumbled and rolled  and roared the area.  AND THEN they repeated the show before the football game at the stadium.  The rumble could have shattered that old building, don't know why it didn't.  So powerful!

Many, many dogs in CA.  and they go every where, are welcome everywhere. Trip actually started with 3 dogs on my flight out.  Are well-trained, never saw any problems, and always on leash.  No, never saw a cat being taken around.  They are home napping, dotcha know.

Tears came two times more than the midnight Olde Lang Syne-  Watching the many bands and opportunities for a honoring of the flag groups and the response aka roar of the parade fans, And, toward the end of the game I teared up because I had really done it!!!!!

P

Again, to all, I pray you have a truly remarkable and blissful year.

Good Morning Beakers!

Woohoo, 47 high for today!

On another note, Ed & Kelsey picked up Kay to bring her here for her Birthday Dinner (roast beef, mashed potatoes/gravy, fancy green beans, salad and brownies/ice cream), she was having trouble getting up the one step to the front door, fell down and was laying on our front sidewalk. Then we discovered that she had scraped her shin on the edge of the step when she went down and it had taken off a patch of skin about 5"x8" from her leg. It was bleeding, but not profusely. We had to call 911 because we could not get her up (she is very heavy). They bandaged her, she said the pain was about a 1 and they took her to the hospital. She was there about 4 hours, Ed & Kelsey picked her up and took her home. She got up her basement stairs slow but fine. Ed/Kelsey were behind her just in case. The firemen (yes, the huge firetruck came) and the Paramedics in their vehicle were both here and they were 5 of the nicest guys, they were so caring and gentle. So, I packed up dinner for her and sent it with Ed & Kelsey. We will go to her place sometime this week with her birthday presents...

Phyl, thanks for the blog, some great pictures!  Ooh, those dog shames!

Puff, it sounds like your trip was just what you needed and I think Ton helped in getting you to go! He is now smiling...

BL & T40, good music, thanks! Love the Playing for Change, one of my favorites:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHo1fNnXFVU

Lani, your sweet good night picture shows how much the shape of a kitten's head and face change as they grow up.

E4E, I hope you are safe from the flooding. I read that Lake Meade is slowly rising from the rain affecting tributaries that flow into it. That is good for CA!

tsk, so sorry to hear that the pain is back, hope the MRI will reveal something that they can deal with...

Lori, we want you to feel better!

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

Good Morning Beakers

Phyl - Love that puzzle you posted last night.  Great pics from RRP cams.  Love the alarm clock garden. Great doggie shames.

baz - Thanks for the pics from the Joan of Arc Krewe.

Lani - Love that good night pic of the kitties!

E4E - Thanks, and I do, too!  I wish I had as much as she does.  ;D  How are you enjoying retirement?

Puff - Part two, sounds just as good as the first.  I am glad you had a great time!

clynn - Your good morning snowman!  Is it gonna be that kinda day?  ;D  I am so sorry to hear about Kay's fall at your house.  I hope she enjoyed her wonderful birthday meal that you made for her.

tsk - Oh no, I am so sorry to hear you are still in so much pain.  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.  Prayers sent!

baz - Me and Mama at one of the weekend Mardi Gras parades in 2017.  We made the Uptown Messenger newspaper that day.  ::) See Mama's bag, it was already filled with beads.  That woman loves her parades!

Lisa Guy, left, and Irma Martin, right, cheer for beads from Okeanos’ “John Wayne” float on Sunday, Feb. 26. Okeanos rolled with the theme “Okeanos Salutes American Icons.” (Zach Brien, UptownMessenger.com)

Clynn Oh no!  You, Ed and Kelsey are quick thinkers and got Kay the help she needed--hospital and all. What a shame on her birthday.
Her dinner sounds great! And so kind and thoughtful of you to pack and take to her. Sending prayers her way for a speedy recovery.
LOL upside down snowman---'What the world needs now...Love sweet love'. We were singing it in the 70's as teenagers and still singing it today.
Great temps for you today.  :)

Lisa nice photo /memory of Mardi Gras 2017; I miss having my mom here to do things with /go places .   :'(

Puff Part 2 sounds as memorable as the first. It's not often one's able to close a bad year with a wonderful trip. So glad you could to do so.

Lani very sweet 'Good Night' photo, esp. showing how a cat's face morphs from kittenhood to adult. And, more.

Eagles did some checking on the weather situation in Calif as Dan's there up North.  Hope Dan's okay as not been able to reach by phone---just leaves an email. Also thinking of you---take care. Flooding possible.

BL - Love Derek Trucks and wife...I have several of their CD's moved to Ipod...
I was first introduced to him during Eric Clapton's Crossroad Guitar festivals....I think I've seen most if not all 4 of them.

I mentioned at least twice here I had a crush on Derek...shhhh ;)

Phyl - love the 3rd dog shame the best...LOL...dancing after pooping...reminds me Ollie gets the zoomies after pooping snow or grass.

Puff - very happy for you crossing that one off your bucket list....and your happiness shows.

Lisa - "Momma loves parades"....haha...you will need to find her one to go to when she's here this summer.....hmmm.....I'll put on my thinking cap.

Andrew did say he's removing snow from roofs this week....his tool won't reach but I advised him mine will with help....when he's not too busy he'll let me know and help me....I may have to poke him by the end of the week, but we shall see.

Warming temps this week might reveal more icicles forming with possible rain/mixed precip next week, will not help without flowing gutters....

It's green!
This might be visible with the naked eye...esp Jan 21st in the Northern Hemisphere.
It hasn't been this close to earth in 50,000 years!....wowzer

I don't know what's going on here in this pic....

Thinking of tsk today....
