Lisa - Ha, NOT yet..
The freezing rain stopped around 11:45 so I went to shovel it off my driveway in order to get to the garbage.

I watched my neighbor to the north earlier, uphil from that is, deliberately make a channel in the snow out in the street so all the water would head downhill into my driveway...
It scared me as our driveways are incorrectly graded to the house, not the street.
The ice has been freezing for many nights on the south side of my driveway so it wouldn't go on down the hill.

Ha, I met the mailman who likes me and is a doll, while I was out there, and showed him the channel.
His words: "That's a very sh--ty thing to do".......Yup.

Spent an hour pushing/brooming/shoveling the gallons and gallons of water downhill after I made a bit of a high channel into the street.

Will take days..but that's another NONO from my neighbor....they have 4 young adult males there who can do better....and yes, I've spoken to her too many times to count about their destruction....I sense a real "victomhood" mentality over there.

Resting now, LOL

E4E, sounds like it was a great time with your grandson over the weekend! How young is he? And, WOWOWOWOW!!! lucky you and hubby! Vacation in Hawaii on the horizon for you two!! How fun!!  :D

BL, welcome home! Sounds like a massively fun double birthday celebration weekend for you and Pip. LOL on the sloppy kiss welcome home reunion with all the critters at your abode.  ;) :D  Loved hearing about the flautist sunrise serenade and songbird response.  :-*

During our "monsoons" this AM  3 gals made it to our monthly shawl meeting  LOL  Never time wasted.

KB  If he was my rescurer I wouldn't leave his side either!!!!  ::) ::) ;D

OLDGUY  Looks like Maru had to make a few adjustments to the Hina doll display  ;)

EAGLES  My great niece just turned 14.  She is the one active in the theater arts.  Tim's grandson is 13.  I always have to look up ages.  LOL Have often thought I would like to return to Kauai and spend more time there. It was so beautiful.  You will have a great time.

LANI  Thanks for the research on the Shepherdstown nest.  Seems to ring a bell.

LISA  Rain stopped late AM.  Occasional glimpses only of the sun.  Hope to get the rain total on night news.  Glad you like the no streak cloth.

Lisa, what a gorgeous Christening gown! Great shot - the detail showed very well when I clicked the picture and enlarged it. Just beautiful! Did your mom take a lot of pictures in NOLA at the parades? I wondered if she dressed up in Mardi Gras style... maybe she has a picture to share - I'm glad it was such a fun trip! I forgot to mention earlier how much I like the wedding photo of Bradley and Kelly on the steps. The photographer did a nice job - all 4 wedding pics you posted are so nice. A wonderful day for the families. I bet you're all still on a wedding "high."  :)

((Tsk)), "neither rain, no sleet, nor snow!"  Wow on the shawl ladies making it through the monsoon for that monthly meeting. I saw some of the weather forecast for your general area, and had wondered if you were getting any ice. It will be interesting to hear how much rain you officially got. Is your surgery this week?

Lori, thanks for the gifs from the Decorah North and Hatchery Eagles... looks like the stream is running very fast!

Thanks to all for all the great nest updates!  :) :-*

Happy Day, Beakers!  :)

BAZI  Just heard the first weather report on the nightly news and it appears we had two tornado touchdowns in the area SW of me.  Too warm for icing.   Those kids just bring a smile to my face  One is missing a hand   ::) ::) ;) ;)

OLDGUY   Seeing all that snow would make me want to close the drapes and go to bed for a month!

LORI  Beautiful clear shots of Savannah

Savanna is a real cutie and must find it hard to believe she found such a beautiful place. Sounds like she hatched on top of the tallest building in Fargo, a bank, and found her way to the cliffs above the mighty Mississippi. You go,girl! :-*

tsk - Yikes on the tornadoes.  Love the cloths, even told Mama and Bradley about them and both are getting them.

Lori - Wonderful pics and gifs today!

oldguy - Oh my, all that snow!  Thanks for the videos.

baz - Thanks for the kind words on Christening gown, and on wedding pics.  I took that pic with my cell, but the wedding photographer is the one that placed them.  He was awesome, and I can't wait to see the pics he took.  No, Mama didn't take pics at Mardi Gras, and doesn't dress up in costume, but she will wear her purple, green and gold Mardi Gras shirt.   :D  Adorable pic of the great-twins in their plaid shirts, so cute!

kb - Glad to hear you are resting now.   :)

Have a good night, everyone!

Hi Tsk - Okay, it looks like I was remembering Tim's Grandson (sorry I thought nephew).  I just remember the age between him & my Grandson was about a year. :)   Your GN is the very talented one in the Plays!

Lani - Yes! I am sure we will very much enjoy Kauai - we wanted to go to a different island this time (although we had a blast in Maui years ago).  I will think of you while I am over there, as I know HI is your family 'roots' place.

LisaG - Thank you so much - should be lots of fun, especially rest & relaxation.   So happy that your Mom has a great time at Mardi Gras  ;D

Lori - Love the Decorah vids!  Thank you for all the Falcons.

Baz - You are so sweet & kind  :)   To answer your Q:  our grandson is 12 yrs old.

Kb - Wish your neighbor really 'listened' to you, and would try to make a difference.  Just not fair that you have to put up with your neighbors snow packs and even the post man agreed with you!

Oldguy - Wow, clicked on the Mammoth vid - crazy weather.  Yosemite just had to close due to weather.

Hi Puff  :)

All have a good night.  :)

Hi Beakers,

Oldguy,  I was in Mammoth this weekend. The video is a good representation of how much snow has fallen. We arrived on on Thursday afternoon from Orange County. Chains were put on the Jeep (2WD) just out of town proper.  The snow started in the evening , but the roads were  not completely cleared and the temps were 25 or less all weekend. It didn’t stop until early Sunday morning. The parking lots and walkways at our condo were being cleared ever 2 to 3 hours. We dug out our vehicles, and cleared the snow off of them at least 3 o 4 times.

The snow was very different from the usual “Sierra Cement”, which is a very wet heavy snow.  This weekend’s snow was so dry I couldn’t even make a snow ball. Even though there is a lot of snow it will not bring as much runoff to fill the reservoirs as some might think.

The trip home on Sunday morning was another adventure.  We woke up to blue sky’s and sunshine, had a good breakfast, packed up and headed out, or so we thought.  We got to the road that takes us out to the main highway, 395, and traffic stopped. After an hour or so in line, we finally had our CHP escort service in place. It was a slow slog down Sherwin grade into Bishop.  Chains finally off.  There were a lot  of Caltrans crews still plowing the highway.  The drive south was magnificent. The entire ranges of mountains on both sides of the valley were white. Parts of the valley’s were too.

The people who are clearing the roads and parking lots are amazing. It’s hard work and there are always obstacles.  Thanks so much for sharing the video. Also, Mammoth Mountain has live webcams all over the mountain so you can get a an idea of the snow and wind.
