Monument Valley, AZ

The landscape photography awards out. Impossible for me to pick a favorite of the following 18 winners although I also love the Chile volcano pic.

Morning all and yes it will be hard not to think of today as Monday..

Lisa - cute pictures esp for me the Santa Sack one.

Raining lightly still but should end today after around 2 1/2 days of very needed rain here so that makes me happy..

A little worried when I think of Rutt hanging out in the NW are of MN with a 2 day ice storm event.
Ice isn't good for any living thing, plant or animal. And, to the west of that a true blizzard.

Tired this Tuesday. Camper's family Christmas gathering of 5 hours last night included authentic homemade tacos and 21 folks exchanging and strategizing white elephant gifts. Camper and I returned home and exchanged gifts that, unbeknownst to each other, had a red cardinal theme. A very merry Christmas with family and music and blessings.
Yay for rain instead of snow.... another blessing.

Our Gophers play in a bowl game this afternoon....

Good Morning Beakers!   Not only Tuesday but Boxing Day in all places in the united Kingdom!   Time to box up and return the presents that do not fit or suit you for other reasons!   Be sure to keep the receipts!
Cloudy but our last warm day for a while!  Will be 71 this afternoon and then a gradual cool down!
Tsk have cooked a prime rib fir Christmas a few times and also made Yorkshire pudding with it.  Love that dinner! Have half of my steak in the refrigerator along with potatoes  au gratin and green beans!  So good and fattening!   Have plans to make Chili for  New Year’s Eve and Day!   Enough about food as I have gained about 4-5  pounds since Thanksgiving!
Lisa, Sydney looks much older than she is and is so tuned in to things!   So cute!
Baz, good on seeing the osprey!  Nice walk!
Where is old guy?

With folks chatting about their Christmas dinners---We had potatoes  au gratin and green bean casserole with our ham steaks, garden salad yesterday ---then there's the Razzleberry pie w/ ReddiWhipp topping.  ;D

KB have been to the breathtaking Monument Valley in my childhood. The entries in the contest I'll say , for me, a tie between Joshua Tree National Park, California and  Zion National Park, Utah  Tks for sharing.   I've been wondering about Rutt too.  WERD, freezing temps aren't good for any living thing.

Tig your day sounds fun. I hope  you'll enjoy the MN Golden Gophers game today

Karen 71F is a very nice temp for this time of year. Your Christmas dinner sounds yummy---

I only mentioned .christmas in the jungle to say tgat Christmas spirit prevails akl over the world for celebrants and that snow is not prevalent in many places!   I will admit that on some of tge hottest days of tge year there and here in .south Georgia. A little snow to take the edge off of the heat would be very welcome!  Lol

Lani, speaking of melted things, I once made Christmas dinner for friends and had the same stuff you make for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.   Instead of cranberry sauce from a can I made a cranberry jello salad  using the can of whole berry sauce and pineapple!   To be fancy I used fresh pineapple, forgetting that would not gel!   Anyway, I needed something red and a tad tart so I poured it into a silver bowl and put a ladle in it!   One of the guests, a husband of a friend was putting this on everything and raving about it!   This guy was a world traveller and he was married to a good cook!  I just said it was a cranberry  mixture!    How could I say it was melted jello!   Too funny!

Karen, Thank you for Boxing Day explanation. I've always wondered!!  ;D ... Oldguy is probably busy at work with the after Christmas sales!  :o ... Love your Cranberry Sauce story!  ;D  I bet that is how great recipes are created! You never know!!  8)

Tig, Sounds like a fun family Christmas! Rest, enjoy the peace and tranquility of your home, and put your feet up. That's what I'm doing, I'm exhausted! LOL!  Good luck to the Gophers!

Kb, It must have been hard to choose a winner amongst all the stunning photos. I think I see a lone horse by the stream in #8 photo.

Phyl, sweet Tawny Owl just loving the falling snow!

Lisa, awww, Sydney's ready for NASCAR!  8) .... "Kelly wanted drums kept at grandma's home." LOLOLOL!!!  ;D .. How do they like their new home? Lots of room to play in.  ;D

Tsk, Yummy Prime Rib! ....  tonight it's leftover turkey/dressing for me! Shannon gave Mike two tickets to tonight's KU vs UNLV Bowl game in Phoenix, with parking spot close to arena! I'm staying home and watching from the comfort of our cozy warm home. Mike and Aly will go. Though Mike didn't tell Shannon it may be uncomfortable sitting on those hard seats. And I'm worried about the walking and josling about for him....  But, he's so excited. ;D Aly will drive home after the game. It'll be a two hour drive to and from the valley. Our furry family and I will keep the lights burning for their return. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!!!   8) ... Enjoy your lunch with the girls... Will Barb/Tom sell their Naples home after this trip? You mentioned they were considering it.

Mike's in the kitchen having a little bowl of turkey/tators/gravy/jellied cranberry!
And I'm still typing this! I am pooped!LOL!  ;D
Have a good and restful day!

{{{Clynn}}} I can't stop thinking of you. You were in our dinner prayers last night.  :-*

HAPPY DAY AFTER! AND BOXING DAY, BEAKERS!!   :D

Lani, nice gift of the game tickets for Mike. Maybe he can take a small cushion that will fit his seat, to sit on at the game? You can relax and watch from home tonight.  :)

(((CLYNN))), thinking of you!!   :-*

Lisa, Sydney has her driver learner's permit! She's way ahead of her time!  ;) :D  So cute!!  :-*

Karen, I agree, most people never know snow at Christmas, and still have just as much Christmas spirit, all the same.  :)  LOLOL on the jello cranberry pineapple salad that didn't jell, but turned out to be a surprise hit with one of your foodie dinner guests!!  ;D

Tig, yummm!  And... a big, fun family crowd! ... Name tags, please!!   ;) :D :D

TSK, I cooked a ribeye steak for Christmas, too!  Like you, my steak leftovers will make 2 more meals, but my leftovers are in the freezer!! LOL. It was yummy, but way big!  :D

Waving to All the Beakers!!  :D

Phyl - Thanks for the 365, and RRP post.  Your Christmas dinner and dessert sounded delicious.

kb - Thank you!  I think that is my favorite pic of Sydney, too.  Monument Valley, AZ, just gorgeous!

tig - Sounds like a fun Christmas, and yum on the tacos!

karen - Thank you!  She was very aware of how to rip the wrapping paper.

tsk - I am glad the drum set made it home too, after the way Bradley was beating it.  ;D ::)

Lani - They are loving their new home, and so is the kitties.  Bradley said, they are not on top of each other all the time now, and have room to play, too.  Mike's  little bowl of turkey/tators/gravy/jellied cranberry sounds deeeeelish!

baz - Thank you  :-*

((clynn)) - Thinking and praying for you!

No bounce

I just received a card from the family of a lady who I met and traveled with in Alaska in 1980. She and her husband, another couple and I were on the same itinerary. Camper and I were blessed to visit their home in California in 2018. The husband passed soon after and she has been in memory care for a couple of years. They had a good life.
I'm sad.
