Merry Christmas Beakers!     Wonderful greetings from all!   Rain here this morning but it seems to have stopped and the sun almost seems to be breaking through!
The two Christmas  Days I spent in Viet Nam were sunny and warm!  Lani probably experienced the same. Growing up!   The militarydid a great jon of providing Holiday food for staff and patients!  We, the r staff at the hospital made Christmas trees out of okd Readers Digests, folded and spray painted green!  Each patient had one on their bedside table!  We passed out red cloth ditty bags filled with soap in a plastic
box, a  red wash cloth, a paper back book  a greeting card  andother toiletries!   Some times little things mean a lot!
Tig,  at the army hospital in Colorado Sorings some of our volunteers ran a xandy kitchen!  They made fudge once a week!  Ambulatory patients would help or sit in our kitchen with a coffee and talk.  A little like home!   Anyway, try to melt your fudge a little and put it on Ice cream.  Iam sure the taste is wonderful.  A hot fudge sundae!    Bbl.  Going out to enjoy a bit of sun.

I just remembered... I started with the medium pan instead of the big one. I needed to keep lifting it a bit so it wouldn't boil over. Grr. Next time.

KAREN   I enjoy hearing about your times in the Red Cross.  You certainly got creative with what you had for the patients.
Like the Colorado Springs story about the candy kitchen - " little like home"

LISA   You both look great in the pic.  The best Christmas ever!!!   Sidney loves her grandma.  Sidney in the sack - precious!  How did all the food go?

Merry Christmas to All!  :)

Lisa, great pics of you and Sydney!!  I love your matching grins!  :D  And what a cute idea for the Santa sack!   :)  :-* :-*   I'm glad you all had a wonderful day.  :)  She likes you! She really likes you!!  ;) :D  (a la Sally Field at the Oscars... LOL!)

It sounds like everyone enjoyed their Christmas Eve and Day, and enjoyed some special treats, too.  :)

I didn't have any beignets, so I had pecan pie and cafe au lait for breakfast, LOL, the Christmas morning breakfast of champions.  ;)  I walked 41 minutes.  I walked to the big, wide-open tall-brown grassy marsh, and I got a major treat!!  I got there just in time to see an Osprey in mid-hover, down low, snaring a fish in the marsh, not very far in front of me! and then flying off with it!!  I watched to see where it went, in case I might discover its "home" tree, or such. But it flew waaay down to the far end of the marsh from where I was, and into, or past, a stand of trees in the distance there, and so I could not see where it landed, so far away.  I have seen an Osprey fish a few times in the retention pond next to my building before, but not in over a year now, so I was stoked to see that Osprey today! Just thrilled to see that on my walk today.

And family members loved it and asked for the recipe! LOL!!  ;D

Good Morning Beakers

Lani, baz, Phyl, tsk & karen - It was a great day with Sydney. She loved tearing the wrapping paper on the presents.  I do have to say, BL's drum kit suggestion was a big hit with Bradley and Sydney.  She loved watching Bradley beat the drums, but Kelly said, this gift needs to stay here.   ;D ;D  I was like no way, that is a prezzie for your house!  And, Sydney loved her car I got her!

tsk - Yummy on your prime rib dinner.  LOL, days of the week has been messed up for us, too!
