A Cattle Egret in pretty breeding plumage spends time at my retention pond almost every Spring.  :-* :-* It forages every day, and usually has a lot "to say."  ;) ;D   I've watched it build a nest, or at least start one, at least 3 of those years, but I never saw any sign of eggs, and it never stayed for a full breeding season. It is almost always by itself, and I have only ever seen it with another Cattle Egret on fewer than a handful of occasions, so I think it never attracted a breeding partner to the pond, and then left.

Interesting "Cool Facts" about Cattle Egrets, from "allaboutbirds" - the Cornell Lab of Ornithology:

TSK... Glad things are a bit better on your end. You've been busy. I had the cold this past week. Camper probably caught it from me. He slept on and off for 15 hours. I got him up for soup tonight.

Thanks very much for the birthday wishes and the cakes!

Before I found the forum, RRP facebook in the beginning was similar to chat. I spent quite a bit of time there.

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, thanks for the Royals update, 42 fertile eggs! and more to come! I didn't realize there were that many nests there! Wow! And a different view this season, nice! I plan to watch Grandma when I take a break this morning!

Phyl, missing you this morning, hope you are sleeping peacefully... see you later...

blschue, good to see you! Stop by more often if you can!

E4E, LOL, I don't worry about Ed reading the Beak! He doesn't even come in this room unless he needs to ask where something is or tell me something! And he never touches my computer!  His brain is very technical, but not about PCs, more about Servers and business applications etc. That's what he does at WF. I made good headway yesterday!

tig, you and camper, hope you feel better today!  More soup!

kb, are you wishing you had some snow to blow?  ;D  No snow in the forecast yet!

baz, I did notice when I looked up the cattle egret, that their breeding plumage was very pretty! Thanks for the article! And great peace sign in the snow!

Lisa, yay for the first time homeowners! Busy days ahead! Maybe you could watch Sydney while they tote stuff in!

tsk, glad to hear that Tim is back to normal, hope he stays that way! Did the episode scare him? It would have terrified me...

karen, good report from the doc!

BL, still chuckling over F.M.R.!!! Reminded me of the Matlock episode when he had to watch a client's parrot. The parrot kept saying 'your mother's a jackass' over and over...

Southwest Florida Eagle Cam - The Great Horned Owls spotted on the cams at night have found their home across the pasture in a nest started by Harriet & M a few years ago. GHO’s are not nest builders and frequently try to take over established or abandoned nests. Hopefully we see less of them bothering M & F as both raptor species incubate and hatch their next generation of young. 🙏🏻🦅🦉 Check in on our Eagle family here: https://dickpritchettrealestate.com/southwest-florida.../

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

some bounce
Camper was only up for 7 hours. Back to bed he went. I got some soup, toast, jello and liquids into him, and a couple Tylenol which broke his fever.
We had a dusting of snow overnight. Luckily, it will melt.

GOOD MORNNING BEAKERS

LISA   Good news.  They will be able to get the kitchen mostly set up and get some boxes in the right rooms before all the furniture comes.

BAZI  I'm so happy you are building on your walking.   I have not exercised in 3 days - I'm not a happy camper and hope to get back to my routine today.

TIG   Ding!  That's right - He got the cold from you.  Excuse my brain.. :P ::)

EAGLES  I think Lulu was a bit hesitant once sniffing Tim and all the new smells.  In fact she slept with me for about 4 hours last night - Never has done that before.

BISCHUE  Welcome - Hope you got all your b-day wishes  ;) ;D

CLYNN  Tim had his first episode with this back in April when we called paramedics at midnight.  HR at that time was twice as high as this one and he was really scared then.  I have a feeling this might not be the last.   SOOOOO many people deal with a-fib - and many do not even know it.   Gosh - I now remember that Matlock episode  LOLOL  Those owls are nesting far too close if you ask me..

PHYL   Take it easy.  Am sure Jim is happy to get back to work.  Will catch all your links later - Gotta go

Tig we had an inch plus with ice. Hennepin is advising poor travel conditions and I just shoveled drive and poured ice melt. Heads up unless much better up where you are. Not on my puter yet. Chris changing things, ugh. Security stuff but later when I have access.
