Good Morning Beakers

Had a low of minus 4 this morning, already up to +5 and heading for 16.  One more morning of negative on Fri. morning and then 3 days of 40s - not expecting any more precipt until late next week.

Tsk - after rereading Amy's blog - "T1 is located less than 100 yards from N1" - I think she is referring to one of the trees along the Hatchery drive that HM & HD use to guard the nest area - much like Decorah Mom used the "Maple" which is no longer there.  T1 designation is likely being used as an easy name that will not confuse anyone, as T1 is another Maple.

Time for another look back into music history...  The Collins Kids

Brother & Sister act that started out in 1954 - Larry was 10 and Lorrie was 13 - by 1955 they were a regular on Tex Ritter's Ranch Party - a local LA TV show
By that time Larry was writing much of their songs.  Lorrie was on the Ozzie & Harriet show in 1958 as Rickie's girlfriend - which was true off screen as well.  In 1959 the kids went on tour with Johnny Cash - where Lorrie fell in love with Johnny's manager Stu Carnal and eloped during the tour.  They were married for 20 years and had 2 kids - she started working with her brother again after the divorce.  Meanwhile Larry continued to write songs and work the west coast venues.  His guitar was a double-neck Mosrite guitar like his mentor, Joe Maphis.  Joe had it specially made and Larry got one just like it.  Joe played in the band with the Collins Kids for many years.
Lorrie died in 2018
Larry wrote 14 songs from 1957 to 1980  and then started writing songs for movies.

They are recognized as one of the founders of Rock-a-Billy music.  Much of the stage dancing by Chuck Berry was first done by Larry Collins.  The Collins kids were already rocking on the Town Hall Party in February, 1954 at ages 13 (Lorrie) and 11 (Larry), BEFORE Elvis released his first Sun Records recording in July, 1954 and before Chuck Berry's first recording released in May 1955. Buddy Holly's first recording wasn't released until May, 1957.  So the Collins Kids are rightfully and correctly considered original Rockabilly pioneers, as they had created a Rockabilly style all their own even before Bill Haley and the Comets released "Rock Around The Clock" in April 1954.  Their stage outfits were copied by many of the greats.

clynn - Glad to hear that you all are home, and all is well with Ed. When I went to Sam's yesterday I was looking for the breakfast bowl and the blueberry griddle cakes that Jimmy Dean makes, and they had neither.  Love the SWFL pic!

E4E - I agree with you.   :D

tsk - I know, I can't believe no impulse buying from me either!

Well, I found out today, that Bradley & Kelly are having a lil girl.    :D

Lisa    Congratulations on the baby's gender---now you know who to buy for and Kelley will know what colors and styles to crochet while she waits. So happy for everyone! Prayers for a healthy baby and safe delivery.

Tsk  T1 is the tree to the right of N1 closer to the bridge.  My understanding from the pics  posted by RRP. If  you go back to my post this AM of HM squeeing---she's in TI (Tree 1)  Here's a graphic from STL that explains it all.

From STL in Decorah thread today:
"Possible reference pic for the location of T1. This one is from New Year's Day, 2022.
Phyl, yours is almost the same view."

Phyl - Thank you!   :-*

tsk - I had to laugh at Mama when I called to tell her.  She was like...YES a girl, Im headed out now to buy some fancy clothes.  ::)  If you would know my son, he is not fancy, at all!  I like buying for girls too. It seems they never have cute stuff for boys.

Tig shucks about the chocolate bomb.  My laundry room is on 2nd floor in a cubby still adequate for w/d , steam presser and laundry rack/cart

Eagles very cute and cheery greeting this AM. Envy the Delorean, esp when restored  ;)

Clynn so glad you both are home and all is well! Tks for Barb Henry photo of
SWFL's  little wingers in their pin feathers!    Chocolate bombs---'they' make it look so easy.  Awesome vid of black racer snake and all.

Lisa over the years, I've seen some 'cute' clothes for baby and little boys. There was a line of childrens clothing, 'Geraminals' some really adorable things.

Behold one of the pictures that won Matjaz Krivic the title of Travel Photographer of the Year 2022. Captured in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Nanyuki, Kenya, the poignant shot shows Najin, one of the last two northern white rhinos left in the world, resting in the heat of the afternoon with her caretaker Zachary Mutai. Krivic explains: ‘The northern white rhino is all but extinct. The two last males died several years ago. The two females are still with us, but [they’re] too feeble to bear babies.’ The photographer explains that the rhinos' eggs are now being artificially fertilised by sperm from the late male northern white rhinos. This is done ‘in hopes that surrogate rhinos from another subspecies can carry the northern white back from the brink’
Taken from winning shots of the Photographer of the Year.

Clynn - Did Ed eat a good breakfast after the 'C'?  In any case, hope he rested today. :)

Tsk - Looks like we can all say we have a close friendship with the person who does our hair! ;D :)

Oldguy - Interesting reading about the brother and sister act - good story!!!

LisaG - Congrats on the upcoming birth of your  Granddaughter!!! :-*

Phyl - Hubby is enjoying restoring the Delorean - many times he is challenged, but being challenged is up his alley - loves everything about restoration!  I just have to say it feels like sitting on the road, as the seating is very low to the ground. ::)

Kb - Lol!!  Like the posting about complaining of a hot summer!   Good story of the white rhinos - although it is scary how rare they are - I really hope they save the species - thank you for the story - prayers for all the best.

Night Lani, Oldguy, Tig, Lori, T40, Puff, Blschue, Baz, Weasel, Pink, Lilbro, Peep, Jaspurr, Bggolden, Eburg, Emy, Ezee, Ssrl, Maxie, Nr, Ginger.

Everyone have a good evening and sleep well.
