Mickey Mouse Day
Celebrating the iconic character with round ears and a big smile — the symbol of a famous theme park and beloved cartoons.

Minnie Mouse’s Birthday
That iconic polka-dotted, bow-rocking character who's the perfect partner for some theme park fun and a dash of cartoon nostalgia.

Housing Day
Appreciating the simple comforts of a warm, safe shelter is a reminder of life's blessings and the importance of gratitude.

Good Morning Beakers! It's CATURDAY!

31 right now, high 62 today. Hight in the 40's after a 60 high tomorrow.

tsk, my folks said early on that they would never expect any of us girls to take care of them, this was after they saw what it did to my Grandmother when she tried to take care of her mother. It was really hard on her, it was then that Mom & Dad got long term care insurance. Mom has help three days a week right now and can get more as needed. She has the stairlifts but she isn't even using them yet (she does use then to send the laundry basket down to the washer, etc) and she just turned 89. We just go on like she's not getting older! We girls do try to space our visits out so we can be sure she is doing well.

Phyl, oh my, Bella would love those cat chairs! Oh the look on that cat's face with the opossum! I think Harley would be cat screaming and the hair on his back would be up full force!

oldguy, those dances wore me out! Loved the I want Crazy!

Lani, now I want to go to Home Goods again...but not until Monday! It is in the big bunch of stores around the Jordan Creek Town Center, which is a mall surrounded by many other stores! It's crazy out there, especially on the weekends!

Weasel, you will have a wonderful time on your fantastic trip! Hope to see pictures when you return!

baz, love the cat learning to make biscuits! And you had a good walk!

Got a call from nr yesterday, she was at the hospital close to me, a fractured toe and wrist from a fall in the parking lot of her apartment complex. I picked her up and drove her home, she has a boot and a lower arm brace!

Kitten update: The kittens we were going to get, well, they were stolen! The guy called Erin, said he was in the hospital and the gal that was renting his basement and helping him took the mother cat and kittens. Gone. So Erin found another batch, I think he is enjoying being the one that is in charge of the 'Siamese kitten search'! These won't be ready until around the first of the year at the earliest. And she doesn't know the color points yet, probably next week. Here is a picture of a couple of them. She sent videos but I don't know how to post!

Black Eagle Project Roodekrans

It's almost time for the Juvenile of 2023 to leave and begin a life of her own. We are never sure when we'll get the last photo, so here are a few, taken yesterday by BUSTER SHIPSTER.

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

Good Morning Beakers.....Happy Caturday!

Phyl - Thanks for Banana Nut Breakfast cookie recipe, 365, and DOTY.

baz -  I wish Misty would make me some biscuits!  ;D  Video is too cute!

tsk - I didn't think we were supposed to get any rain, but the front walk was wet when I went out this morning.  Jeff says, thanks!

karen - Sorry about the fence situation.  Thanks for kind words on morning pic.  :)

E4E - Love your cozy evening pic.

oldguy - Many thanks for the videos.

tig - Jeff says, thanks!

clynn - Oh no, sorry about the kittens, but at least Erin found some more for you.  Did you have to put a deposit down on the others already that were stolen?  Sorry to hear about nr, hope she has a speedy recovery!

Ta Da! - I fixed my hood over stove light!..by myself.
I happened to catch a "life hack" video this morning comprised of heating with a lighter the end of a plastic water bottle..stick it up there and turn. It turned!..then I could grab it with my needle nose plier and it's out and a new light bulb is in!...didn't tighten so hard this time either.

My thinking on my jacuzzi is to do a sorta scientific experiment. It's now empty, off, with lots of plastic covering it and a form of antifreeze protecting the parts. I'm supposed to buy like an outdoor couch cover over it next spring for more water protection and it will last turned off through more than one winter if I want. It's 57 dollars on amazon.

Then, the next year, I'll open it up in spring, use it and leave it running all winter at a lower temperature, no "winterizing" it at all.

Then I'll compare gas/electric bills for the two years and see if I don't mind not using it or want it on and it's not that expensive?

Of course next spring I could totally change my mind, LOL

Morning all....I'm just so excited about my own fix had to share.

Off to grocery shop now.

Bottom line: I get life hack twitter videos/feeds every day and they all are quite amazing actually. continue silly.

Need to look for next project life hack: fix the fan/light over dining room table that "lost it's pull chain"
