Hello Beakers

Still no magma in Iceland  -  but there has been a lot of ground movement - authorities believe that the earthquakes have destroy a lot of the utility info structure to the point that the town will never be reopened even if it is not in the path of any lava.  SO2 was detected in dangerous levels today.

Kb, Keep us updated on the mystery bright light.... dinner sounds delicious.

Tig, thanks for suggestion. I love Paul Giamatti.

BL, Oldguy, Thanks for your expertise and information for Phyl and Karen... You both are always ready to help others in need.  :)

Eagles, I've left washer or dryer on and left the house too. It's so easy to do when you're on a tight time schedule, sometimes do it without thinking. I'm glad nothing happened while I was gone. So, you're not alone in this  :-*

Lisa,  Aly made a gluten-free pumpkin pie, it was okay.  I found a lot of recipes for Sugar Free Pumpkin Pie, interesting.

SED Phyl, karen, Puff

Lani thank you.    ;D

The last time I wore camouflage on leaving suddenly I had a cat on my lap named B.

Apparently B & I are still under a significant NDA.

Good Morning Everyone !

Currently 50F cloudy   High  69F,partly sunny  Low 47F

I had started my comments for yesterday's last post  . But, we got a jump on today and shifted furniture  and moved the stuff off the landing. Cleared out the laundry room of the clothes organizer and wall mount  caddy for ironing board  and steam presser(yes I still do some ironing, mainly use the steam presser) so the deliver guys would have some room to work. It's all stored in the guest room . The house is all torn-up.

CLynn great quilt and so true 'The Circle of Life'
What a riot the Hen in pumps/hand bag... so true keep smiling   ;)   Even if they catch the 'culprits' pilfering the Albie egg...it'll be worthless for hatching even w/keeping it gently heated, I'd think.

E4E Oh yeah! That' just the way we like our salsa, chili, guacamole Buffalo and Cajun, hot and spicy, just not worth if it's 'mild'

Lani thank you for thinking of Linda/Ian;  and all the Royal Albie backstories

Tsk I'm the only one in this household that loves pumpkin pie. So, I'll have whole pie to myself.  ;D

Old Guy tks for update on Iceland. So very sad and frightening for inhabitants. Jaspurr---I hope all's well w/her.

BLI don't run washer(dish/clothes) or dryer when not home, etc either. Tks for the extra info too. On detection sensor in the 'over fill' or catch pan for water
heater--- it makes good sense to put it in the  washing machine catch pan  too.  ;)   Thank goodness for "B" the cat

Karen yes gonna buy the 'shut-off' and  you should too !  ;) :-*

Prayers for:   Our friend and ally the Nation of Israel and peace for her people. All abandoned, abused  cats and feral cats; Linda and Ian, My  Alter prayer list
The Bluebirds of Cane Ridge, Tennessee, Hummingbirds, Bumble Bees  and Honey bees everywhere . The Beakroom and Cheers.

While I'm late to the gate. . .Noone mentioned the dishwasher.  No running out on that noise.  Hoses/joints can burst on them, too.

GOOOOOD MORNING

High of 65 today mid- afternoon.

BL  Thanks.  Sounds like Beak inherited the "all things electronic gene from Dad and at such a young age"  ;) ;)  :o

OLDGUY   How sad for Grindavik.  Such a terrible disaster to lose an entire town most likely.  A least time to rescue valuables and the animals.  :'(      The piece on the moose was really interesting - intoxicated  LOL

LANI   Love the good night photo  :-*

PHYL   Wish I knew all those leaves better.  Nice collection.

Good Morning Beakers!

Phyl, pretty Flyway sunrise, cute Gray Plover in the 365, great pics in Amy's Blog! Thanks! Clean out your refrigerator day!  I do need to do that! Interesting leaves posters, we have some of the same trees as Britain! I remember the horse chestnut trees, they had 'conkers' that fell to the ground. Cathy and I collected them, they are like buckeyes! That is a fat little squirrel! 46 here right now, high 68 today! Love this weather... no more 60's after tomorrow...

BL, cats know things... it's good to pay heed...

I remember back in the late 80's, I worked for the mortgage company in the building pictured below, the Ridgely Farmers State Bank that had failed in the Great Depression. The basement was cool, the big vault door, the Board Room with all the mahogany, outside the building the sidewalk opened up and the lift went up. They had one of those water detection devices, it failed, and before it was discovered there was nearly 2 feet of water in the basement. Other rooms were used for storage of paper files, and one of the main loan file rooms was actually in the vault. It was a disaster, this was back when most records were still hard copy. The loan files had to be freeze dried/restored. Here is a pic of the building, my office was on the 11th floor, the fourth set of double arched windows!

Sorry, I went way off... the water topic just made me think of this happening in 1988ish.

Lani, your 'it was okay' on the gluten free pumpkin pie doesn't sound wonderful, but I guess if you have to eat gluten-free it's better than nothing. I remember making a sugar-free pumpkin pie years ago, for Ed's diabetic sister. She said it was good, I don't know, she may have just been nice!

oldguy, oh poor Grindavik!  How crazy! I hope maybe they can relocate the town, maybe to a safer place. It looks like such a nice little town!

tsk, I too am glad they let people go back into Grindavik and get their pets and valuables. I can't imagine the anguish of leaving pets behind...

It was windy here yesterday, our big oak tree was raining leaves, and still millions to go!

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

Two Highland cows in Scotland.

As calves they are adorable:
https://www.boredpanda.com/cute-baby-highland-cattle-calves/

Going to be a hard working day for me. After days of ferocious winds and just light and variable today, am going to blow, rake, mulch and mow my front yard/gardens today. And hopefully be able to push/pull/drag my front mower down steps and a steep hill to start the back or leave for tomorrow. My back mower needs fixing and can't be done per my small engine repair guy till the Spring. He's too busy fixing snowblowers now.
How fun!. (sarcasm)

Mine and nearby trees have mostly "fallen".
