kb - Sorry about having to go out in the cold with Ollie early in the dark.

Lori - Those peanut butter and chocolate spider cookies are too cute.

tig & kb - Wow, 2 inches of snow....yikes!

tsk - You found the hot chocolate??   :D

baz - I had my heat set at 69, but I was still too darn cold.  Had to kick it up a notch!

Lani - The community hall celebration for the kids sounds like fun.

Phyl - When I go to the grocery this weekend, if they still have the Autumn Mix, I will get you a bag or two and mail them to you.

Lisa, I did the same thing! Now on 70!
Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

BAZI   We have been in and out of "blizzards" and then sun most of the afternoon.  Just had 9 trick or treaters come to the door as sun is out but really cold.  Some big stuff overnight they say which may be measurable.  Interesting heritage you have.  :)

T40  Enjoy your cat contributions  ;D  Black cat a fav.

CLYNN  Got my hot chocolate  ;) ;)  Spritz of redi whip as well.  Again as I type - forgot the Baileys again  drat!

LISA  Yes - the cocoa kcups are now located right in the middle of all the coffee ones - Good grief - Could easily be at one end or the other...

Tsk I've made a note of your suggestion for ice  DuPont Teflon Snow and Ice Repellant, Aerosol 10 oz. I have no Baileys  :(
Too bad I don't have FB membership so can't view Karen's posts.
Bazi interesting ancestry to be sure!   Oh yeah. On the Redi Whipp only 15 calories a full  rosette. I give  Maggie  a medium rosette in a cup saucer as a treat. Gone in 5 secs.  ;D

Lani Oh Jack  Skellington . Have Nightmare Before Christmas' Didn't think to watch that one. Gonna see 'Monster House' tonight and put them all away.
Jim was just near Target near the PetSmart where he was grocery shopping for Maggie. If I had read your post earlier.

Lori/Tig
I made those frankfurter mummies one year. They're  cute and fun to eat and not alot of bread. Which is what I like. ;)
Ih that Wendy's kitty!

KB me too. Fond memories of door to door 'trick or treating'.  The employee housing  was so large had they had so many friends that invitged me to stop by ---they had to drive me

Dear Lisa thank you---that isn't necessary---when I can hop on my broom and be there in a few!  Now Jeff would faint if a witch with black
silver streaked hair knocked  on his door.  ;)

Old  Guy   Q-Kids and 'Monster Mash'  ;)  You've done it now! Purrbie can't be beat!!!  Enjoyed this soooo much had to call Jim up. He was impressed.

Howdy Beakers.

Clynn, if my temps had been the same as yours, I would've turned on my heat, too!  There's a looong Quaker tradition in my family.

Lisa, sometimes it's just hard to get warm, for no apparent reason!

TSK, I still measure loose coffee grounds into a drip coffee maker, so I'm not up on all things k-cups. The cocoa kcups were in the middle of the coffee ones?? Anyway, I guess that means you got your cocoa... but you forgot the BAILEYS?!?!? LOL.  ;)  Thanks for posting Karen's story to share. I saw about your weather when I turned on the Weather Channel this evening! Stay in tomorrow - and remember the Bailey's!  ;D 8)

Karen, nice story about Rose and growing up and growing older.

Phyl, I'm not on FB either. That link from Karen doesn't require a FB membership.

Lori, and others, those mummy weiners are really fun! I always liked that combo, too... especially the appetizer size, with different kinds of dips.  Is Destini wearing a costume today?

Lani, my porch lights are off tonight, but I haven't seen any trick-or-treaters here in many years now. Like you said, there are many community events, Trunk-or-Treat, and other things for the kids to do here, though some neighborhoods still have a busy traditional Halloween for trick-or-treating here.

BL, I'm not sure if your "boys of summer" post was in reference to baseball, but I'm watching Game 4 now. I'm not too enthusiastic since I don't have any emotional attachment of any kind to either team in the World Series this year. I guess I'll pull for the D-backs since all my living exes live in Texas.  ;) OMG Texas just hit a 3-run homerun... 10-0 Rangers in the top of the 3rd!!  :o ::)

Beakers, I got in a 31-minute walk today around lunchtime, after I posted earlier today. Then I ran a couple of errands, and on my drive home, I took a shortcut through the neighborhood across the street, where I often walk, and there were 3... count 'em, 3! coyotes... just nose to the ground, walking in a line, one behind the other, along the bank of one of the retention ponds, near a treeline. When I first saw them, I thought someone's dogs had gotten out, because they each had a darker streak of hair on them than most coyotes I've seen, and they looked larger and very healthy. Then I looked again and realized they were coyotes... at 3:15 pm. I knew that a coyote was a regular in that neighborhood, and is seen in my neighborhood, too, but all the people who have seen it have done so in the early mornings, when they were walking their dogs right after it got light. I thought it was kind of odd to see them all out like that, so visibly, with so many people around, at that time of day. I spoke with the wildlife person who was in his truck nearby there, because an employee of that development had told me someone had seen the coyotes on a walking path and had reported them. So I drove over to the wildlife guy's truck to tell him I had just seen all 3 of them together a half block away, walking on the bank of one of the retention ponds there. The wildlife guy's reply to me was, "Well, they live here." Yep. So there's that.

Good night, Beakers. Peace. SED.

Kb, yum eggs, ham, english muffin, sounds good! Mike asked to make pancakes for dinner tomorrow! So, that's what we'll have tomorrow. I'll make a couple of eggs for me, and hash browns too. Tonight's potato soup and bacon/tomato sandwiches.... I hope it will warm up tomorrow and melt the ice.

Tig, Congrats on tonight's win! YIKES!

T40 Great Halloween pics!

Lori, love the wiener mummies. I wondered what they would look like.

Clynn, it's normal to be in the 30's. We're at 5500 elevation. But, we do need moisture. And I see none for another 10 days... love the weiner mummie... Halloween looked like that in Kansas, in the 70's, 80's & 90's too. Up and down the streets kids everywhere. I loved watching the teachers and school children parade around their school and through the neighborhood too. The good ole days... "Cookies & Screeem" I've not seen that!  :o. oh, that would be delicious! They'll be gone here in Payson, maybe Shannon can find it at Target in Mesa.

Tsk, thanks for sharing your snow and ice repellent. I'll order it now so we'll have it when needed. We've already bought one bag of ice melt to have it handy for the first snow.

Lisa, I'll need to buy cocoa kcups.

Oldguy, Fun video by the Q Kids!  ;D... cool Purrbie House! LOL!  8)

Phyl, Yes, I found it at Target. Walmart or Safeway did not have it here in Payson. We have to go to the valley for a wider selection of groceries or items.

Good night!

Hi EVERYONE

29 degrees. BRRR

Only 25 trick or treaters last night - Down 30 from last year.   :o

OLDGUY   Barbie house - super enrichment activity for the cats  ;D   Always liked Monster Mash  ;D

BAZI   Tim is the K cup coffe drinker and I have my Mr  Coffee.   But I do sneak my  cocoa cup into his Keurig and I also use it for hot water for my tea.. ;) ;)   Interesting response from the wildlife guy about the coyotes.  Right place at the right time to see that.

PHYL   Your front porch is lovely.  :)    This is the time of the year I light my scented candle at dinner time.  Try to find "evergreen" or other winter scents.

KB   Cute blower starter.  Get Chris on that bike  LOL

currently 52 - high 82

Tig & Kb - let the shoveling begin  ::)

Kb - Does Ollie still like to go for a walk when it's cold and icy - does he change his mind once he gets outside? :-\

Lori - Like your cute Happy Halloween post! ;D

Phyl - Yummy & tasty Halloween dinner!!  We had a simple meal of chili hot dogs (2 ea.)  This was while we were handing out candy! :)

Lani - Nice that your HOA provides a safe place to give the kids a Halloween treat and to have fun!    Over here, many houses stay dark - we got around 80 Trick or Treaters, and closed up at 8:30 when no one was going up & down the street anymore.  Years ago most houses were lit up and we would get 300+ .

Tig - Sounds like a fun Halloween for you guys!

T40 - Cute  :)

Clynn - 50's Halloween pic! ;D

LisaG - Turn on the heat as needed! ;)  We are lucky to be having warmer than normal temps right now, but we really need the rain!

Oldguy - The Monster Mash  ;D

Bazi - Enjoy your walk!

Happy 89th Birthday to Clynn's Mom!
