BrokenLug - That is so true about contractor's leaving extra stuff.  When we had out roof re-done I want to say they left like 2 or 3 extra boxes of shingles.

Uuf, can't see the water tower anymore....across the street.
Heavy bands for hours now....ice/sleet as well.

Had to coax Ollie man out to the back as it had been well over 12 hours since he'd gone potty.
Success...
For some odd reason he knows (from the dark of the basement).....and has stayed in bed all morning long, other than when I coaxed him outside....There he will stay most likely the rest of the day!

BL   Good point - we have found such things in our basement as well. - Mostly paint and carpeting remnants

LANI  Good idea of extra tile behind frig/oven.

CLYNN  and we can't blame the different tiger colors on the mailman  LOL  Must have a lot to do with dominant and recessive genes

Early this morning on January 3rd 2023 at 08:02:20am, the first pip was seen  when M15 got up to reposition himself on the eggs! Pip pip hooray! This is the the first official view of the pip - it actually occurred earlier, but we have no way of knowing of the actual time it broke through the shell. Hatch time will be when the chick is "out" of the shell. Congratulations to Harriet and M15 and to all the viewers on this very exciting day as we wait to welcome E21 into the world! I've been taking down Christmas decorations.  I've cleared the hall from garage to kitchen, lavatory and kitchen plus the dinning room. That's all packed ready for storage. Had some breakfast. Then went to work on the Christmas tree. All the decorations are off  and packed and tucked in the storage tubs. Now Jim has to put te lights up as I laid then accross the back of his LazyBoy so he's have to deal with them and packing the tree before he can watch TV. Then we haul the tree bag up stairs to guest room closet. That' leave s the greenry over the entry to dinningroom and the stair rails for tomorrow. Poof! ---finished.   The Nativity will get packed on Friday 6th---Epiphany.

Phyl - no fog......all snow..

A guy trying to get up the hill a half a block from my house, lives across the street, couldn't get up...so he did the wrong thing: up down, up down, spinning his tires...and started his car on fire! 1:30 pm
Other delivery vans can't get up my street....

I bet that intersection after the fire department came to put the fire out of that car is an icy mess ;)

Lesson: don't spin your tires in MN snowstorms....LOL.

We are just in phase 1.....phase 2 to come tonight and all day tomorrow.

The heavy rains and high winds have subsided. Hopefully all past us.  I bet Jim is all wet.   


Looking out from our deck onto the retention pond below. Almost at cresting. If one looks very closely, can just
see the high water in the creek below the retention pond. Normally the creek is an oversized trickle.

Hello Beakers

WE got to 46 today - have had about 1/3 inch of rain since yesterday - it has been a very damp/slight fog day.  The next 10 day forecast keeps us under 40 for all days, with 20s for lows - almost all the piles of snow have melted from last week.

KB... I estimate we got 4 to 5 inches over here. We "pupped" and shoveled part of the driveway, the sidewalk, the patios, the path around the house and the city walk. Bro will finish the drive in a bit.
More coming tonite and tomorrow means I'm not attempting to drive to the Y tomorrow.
