When Dad went missing in 2018, Decorah's Fire Department drone was used to try to locate him. That's it for the use of drones around eagles!

That is correct T40.

The Hatchery area should be a NO DRONE ZONE.  :)

The USFWS has severe penalties for operating drones near BE's or their nests under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.

Hmmm, too bad the drones would be dangerous and disturbing to the eagles, but it makes sense.

Lisa, great pics of the Sub-A and the RT hawk!  The size difference is remarkable.

Late this afternoon, two BEs flying and perching upstream from N1, near a pasture area on our left, with a paint horse grazing.  Could be HM and HD.  The stream is very low, hardly any water visible in this view.

Stressors like drones or even admiring people near an active nest can cause an eagle's adrenal glands to release "fight-or-flight" hormones with dire consequences for the eagles and nestlings.

One of the Hatchery pair, I think HD, caught a large fish at the place they like to use in that corner at the base of the bluffs.  Mom and DM2 liked this location also when they nested at N2B.  Nice cam view of a long flyaround and HD eating the fish from a pasture perch nearer N1, where there are now round bales in the field across the road.

I had never seen moons of Jupiter before in my life.  A BIG thank-you to the cam operator giving us this current view. :)
