Not long after the floppy fledging fish, HD brought a big fish head.  DH2 mantled, then grabbed it and walked around before returning to HD for help eating it.  HD spent time eating some of the nestovers.  That reduces the number of flies at the nest.

DH2's tail feathers look quite dark in a napping view at 9:00 this morning.  There may be white along the edges when the tail is flared out.  We used tail feather appearance as an ID tool in years with more than one eaglet on a nest.  And HM and HD have different dark markings on their white tail feathers.  What happens when they molt the tail feathers?  Do the same markings appear on the same new feathers?

Curious about possible fledge date for DH2?  In the Nest Records section under the live feed, scroll to Eaglets and Outcomes for egg laying dates, etc.  Click on the "Detailed Annual Information" link to see when previous eaglets fledged at Decorah.  Different nest, different parents, but fledging is about age and development of the eaglets, too.  So June 16 to 22 might be a time frame to expect DH2 to fledge.  Hope for branching before that, and a long time of hanging around the N1 area learning how to fly like a pro.

STLbf been wondering the same myself, as to banding/fledging.  Thanks for heads up for  dates, June 16 to 22 .
When I do look in on this nest, I haven't noticed 'branching' by DH2. 
Like you, I hope 'branching' and all before then.

There was three fish deliveries early this morning back to back, one large trout by HM, and two smaller fish by HD.

BL - The pics that I have seen of the damage, it looks like maybe the tree fell to the E, with some of the branches hitting the back side of the shed.
