Glad to see DH2 got some food! HM & HD will soon get the hang of that whole parenting thing 😉

My own interpretation -

I watched HM pull a tidbit off the fish and then sit and hold it waiting for DH2 to chomp at it.  DH2 just stayed put, didn't know next step was theirs.  HM would watch as the juice dripped off the bit and finally swallow the rest.  Then she'd pull off another bit. Happened quite a few times before everything got in sync.

Ain't easy being a baby eaglet!   :-X

This could take a while.  Plus - we still have to fledge 6 gooselets, aka goselings.

From SOAR:

Well, just finished watching about 20 min of non-stop feeding.  Most of it even made the beak and down the hatch.  Now nap time.  Great technique improvement.  Chow down little one - hundreds and thousands here cheering you on.

Dang - see from Amy's post that I missed DH2 poop shoot. How do they know how or that they have to?

I have to thank anyone associated with cams and pics!!!!

Puffy???   It's just morning water retention shep -  ::)

And. . .now we have both waiting in line to take turns at feeding.  Result could very well be a puffy DH2.

It looks like there is still quite a few fish on the nest, and its 60° in Decorah today.  I can imagine the flies are all over the nest and fish.

DH2 looks good at a changeover about 3:45 PM.
Also at the same time, great video of two soaring eagles around N1, likely HM and HD.  Watch on the rewind.

HM is doing a great job at feeding DH2 today.  They are really in sync with the feeding. - HD & DH2, DH2 looking up at HD, and HM feeding DH2
