So, do you really want the word? Here goes: The patient lived.
As expected the arthritis was at work on my right hip. Years back did right knee and left knee so I knew the pain and knew the odds. At this point doc says he doesn't prefer to jump right in with replacement without using medical means. Ergo, we will try 2 or 3 injection procedures. If they don' t keep me moving and my pain controlled then we do the replacement. Had the steroid shots for spinal arthritis a while back also, somewhere along the way the steroids worked; manageable pain most of the time there now. Hope for the same results with the hip, too. But then there's the other hip to think about.
As my original ortho once pronounced Our bodies were not meant to last this long, especially with what with what we put them through.
And, my favorite saying - Our medical system is expensive and screwy - but it's the best thing going on the planet. In my travels and experiences around the globe I've had many opportunities to compare.
And, I have to repeat my funny of the whole experience. . .
When all finished I came home had a grilled cheese/Pepsi and went down for a nap. I hadn't had a good sleep for a week.
Went to sleep about 5 - 5:30 and woke up at 7:30 this morning.
