I saw 2 active pips - I saw the shell  moving like a tiny trap door

3.15 am  Mom is eating the shell
There is the fluffy chick!!
7 am  there is chick #2

Sep 29 Mom brought prey to nest.  She struggled with it - chupping as if feeding her chicks.  I am sure she hears the chicks hatching.

It appears BOTH male and female are new this year, and this may be a first time mom.

 I can now confirm 3 have pipped.
[Pipping is when the embryo cuts out it first hole in the shell which is a breathe hole it needs to get more oxygen and then hatching begins.]  Hatching for these eggs should be complete within 24 hours. The first may even have fuly hatched this afternoon.
Given the interrupted incubation schedule this is a very welcome sign!

Apparantly all 4 eggs hatched.
She stands between cam and kids for feeding so I cant count beeks.

2 kids got out of the box. They were back in before dark.
The last one Mom hauled up squawkin

This Mum is amazing.  She hatched 4 young - ALONE.

ALL 3 purposely went down into 'the pit'
One tucked himself into the corner upstairs.
Tiny jumped down with the other 2 - I bet thats a male.

The first one who went down - stood up, and she looks HUGE!

Three of the kids go down into the pit daily, and when they march along it its hilarious!

I suspect we have 2 males and 2 girls - wish they'd band them

They switched to cam 2, as the kids all moved to the other end.

The kids black feathers begin to show.
I've seen BOTH parents with them at the same time.
Both these parents are new this year.
