Jaspurr, sounds like you have the resources and expertise to be our expert on identifying the "extra" birds found by the cam ops!   :D

I can always use your help.  The graduate course was about 20 years ago.  The memory is not as good as it use to be.  LOL

Happy to help, Jaspurr!  Here's probably Newman preening on the large feeding ledge this early evening.

Gorgeous SHEP.  The ATF is going to have another paddle boat cruise on Sunday.  If they head to the bluffs my hologram will be on the bow  waving to you.  I won't be there is body this year but definitely in spirit.

SHEP, I watched that barge you were talking about.  It looked like they had to split it into two sections of 6 each to get it through the lock.  I can see where the tug can push the second part but I didn't see a tug to get the first half out.  Don't they need a second tug to pull the first half out?

Hope I'm not buttin' in uninvited, but there's a "donkey" on the land side of the locks that pulls the barges out of the lock and out along the extended rail.  It's got a track from one end to the other, the guys that you see walking up to the front of the barge raft, they cable up the tow and an electric motored "donkey" pulls the raft along.
Use the talents you possess: for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best.

Of course you are not butting in Eburg.  That makes sense.  I knew there had to be something that I wasn't seeing.  This is what they do in the Panama Canal.  Thanks.

I just got word that members of the RRP ATF will be on the boat leaving LaCrosse at 11am.  I asked them to get on the bow and wave to the GSB camera.  I will be watching and hope the cam ops know this.   ;D

Is this one of the E's??? ;D ;D ;D

jaspurr, thanks for the heads up about the ATF river boat cruise today.  Hope to see everyone on deck as they pass by GSB.

The  Peregrine in your pic is likely Newman or Zooey.  Looks like it's molting time.  The juveniles would be brown and white.  Gray and white as adults.
