Number 1....Has my name on it LOL.

LB..We're expecting some yucky weather over the weekend.  Not sure if it's going to be a big storm or not.

Glad you got your drawer fixed so quickly.

Such a beautiful day today....

Hi LB 18, 29, 41 degrees is the temps we're being told here....sunny Sat and Sunday, wind and rain Monday.  No mention of snow....We'll see LOL.  Guess we're on the hairy edge.....

Went to do weekly shopping yesterday and shelves are getting sparse in some aisles and prices way up.  AND, there was no canned cat food on the shelves.  WOW.  Wondering if people are nervous about the virus OR the weather.

Have a good, warm, safe and healthy weekend everyone.

Hi LB and jicaji,

LB, Same here being tired of hearing about weather forecast. Initially 6-10 inches snow then 3-5 then 6 to 8" followed by ice and rain.
Whatever happens tomorrow lets just do it, get it done and move on.

jicaji, Definitely agree to lots of empty shelves and prices outrageous. This is ridiculous. Not ending any time soon probably. Inflation as it is should not be happening.

Oh my gosh you have me laughing about keeping the house warm by baking a cake. lol A triple chocolate cake with chocolate/raspberry frosting!! Sounds delicious. With our one digit temps I say stay cozy warm inside and stuff yourself with that delicious cake!  :)

Sorry. This is longer than I had hoped to explain.

I've had a busier than usual past couple days. Remember my refrigerator breaking last June? Then waiting 2 months for new one that was 1/4 maybe 3/4" too large to fit into where old fridge was? Well that began a kitchen renovation that I've wanted to do many many years. After planning with contractor since June and ordering new cabinets, appliances, flooring and whatever else it all began yesterday/Friday one week ahead of schedule due to Nor'easter tomorrow to remove dining room hutch, table, chairs into storage before storm arrives. Reno was to begin next week. I've been hustling to pack and move kitchen & dining room into boxes and other rooms sooner than expected. The wall between kitchen and dining room has now been removed yesterday. My kitchen looks like .. well .. empty down to drywall.  I kept my old stove to continue to cook until it has to go. The bedrooms are full of boxes of kitchen/dining room stuff and tray tables in kitchen to put a few things on to assist with cooking. The noise wasn't all that bad yesterday except when the wall between kitchen/dining was removed but pretty much bearable.

Interesting is the new cabinets, backsplash, appliances and flooring ordered months ago all just arrived this week. Shipping delays are no joke!!

I invited some family here today and was able to cook the meal. I was determined to pull that off and somehow I did. I was determined.  ;D

That being said I'm beat and calling it a night and I definitely plan to sleep in tomorrow before Monday morning when reno resumes.
I'm not complaining. I've dreamt of this reno for years. I'm smiling and glad it's finally here.  :)

SED Cozy in .. keep warm .. sleep well .. and prayers for others and animals less fortunate in this frigid predicted stormy weather.

P.S. Some day I might learn how to condense my words for smaller posts. Now that would be a miracle.  ;)

Paulie....Noooo, don't condense....Love your posts.  Good luck with your renovations.

It's 3degrees this morning.   45 degrees for tomorrow..... The birds coming to the feeder are all puffed out.  Feel sorry for all the outside animals.  I keep putting out warm water for the squirrels and birds, but it just freezes up really quickly.

Number 1

LB, you have to get yourself a nice warm hat that covers your ears for these morning walks when it is so cold.  When I was able to take Rizzo on his walks, I found a hat really helped keep my body heat in.

jicaji, Aww thanks about not condensing my posts.  :) As you see below I did not condense.  ;) Thanks also about the kitchen reno.
You mention "when" you were able to take Rizzo for walks. Has the knee shot helped at all yet?

LB, You sounded reeealy cold this morning! Agreed you need a warm hat and get ear muffs too. Good that you have off tomorrow. Thanks about reno and okay will try to remember to take pictures.

Birds here were all puffed out keeping warm today too. Lot's of new ones showed up at the feeders too.

Well trying to cook meals during a kitchen reno is not easy but can be done!! When I packed the kitchen I put all dishes, glasses, utensils etc on bed in a spare bedroom Then boxed all the stuff in all the cabinets in individual boxes and lined them up in bedroom. We put a long 10 foot table in bedroom so it's full all across the top and boxes under table.
Well we decided to make a double batch of spaghetti and meatballs today. Oh my gosh that was tricky without countertops and a kitchen sink! Then remembering where the different utensils were put. We kept going back and forth to bedroom then also to bathroom where I put a plastic bin in the bathtub to wash pots utensils dishes etc. Then I remembered I'd have to use strainer for double batch of noodles. lol
Umm the bathroom sink did the job. We got everything made and into containers and I washed the huge pots etc in the tub drying them as I went along and putting back into their place in bedroom. After I got everything washed and dried I then cleaned the sink and tub and faucets and countertops etc. That bathroom sure is clean! And my lower back and knees are feeling it! I might not be cooking as many meals as I thought and just order take out.  ;D We did cook some things last week too to freeze during reno so we should be good for this week. Reno estimate 3 weeks maybe 4 but the reno guys accomplished a lot yesterday so maybe it won't take so long. It depends on delivery of flooring, appliances, cabinets and backsplash too. Time will tell. Anyway, that's today's story about cooking in a kitchen with just a stove in it. Hahahaha I thought it would be a good idea but not soooo much extra work entailed. One day at a time.

It began snowing here at 4pm and is to snow till 10pm with one inch an hour at times. Then sleet then rain. Maybe 6 inches.  Weatherman said when done it's going to be a slushy mess. Sounds like it!
Reno guy texted me today they'd like to come tomorrow but he'll see what the roads are like tomorrow morning.
In any event my husband and I are staying inside and have plenty to eat!  ::) ;D

Oops forgot the quotes. #1 but all three are very good.

Number 1.....Number 3 is good, but I have much dificulty with that one LOL..

Paulie....you continue to amaze me :) and the knee shot did diddly squat.  I'm pretty much at the end of the road until I make up my mind to get the replacement.

LB...As Paulie said, ear muffs wil help if you don't want to wear a hat.  Good that you're off today.

Well today is going to 46 degrees....big jump from 3 degrees yesterday morning :o  Just raining right now.  If it goes down later, we're in trouble.

Have a good one.  Stay safe, warm.

LB, You have me laughing about your "I hate hats!!" Well I guess you do! Lol Be careful driving tomorrow. Look out for the other guy!

jicajil Me amazing? Nope. Determined and stubborn? Yep!!  ;D
Darn it to the knee shot!! Well you tried. I wonder if the one that the (censored word) ins company won't pay for would help? Creeps.
You went to 46 degrees today! Nice!

My area got dumped on with the Nor'easter snow then holy mud lots of hard hitting heavy sleet then rain. This morning was one big slushy mess! The wind and gusts were so strong that 2 of my Blue Bird feeders along with deck poles to hang them and one of my solar lanterns blew off but landed on the deck. Only the solar lantern broke. Luckily one of the reno guys shoveled when they got here. I really appreciated it!

Last night I decided to throw sliced apples off the deck for the deer and not go into the yard with snow mess. When I got to the corner of the deck and ready to start throwing apples I suddenly noticed they were right there down below me! Boy I was surprised. It's happened before but I didn't know if they'd show up in that weather last night. My husband had said if they're hungry they'll come. They did. They eat browse from my garden and trees too. Anyway, suddenly the snow turned to heavy sleet and the wind was gusting. I had on boots and  long winter coat with hood. A young deer ran to it's mama and held its head close next to her side to shield from the sleet. I'd throw apples then they'd look for, find and eat them. When the one large doe would stop and look in my direction I froze in place. lol And dang the wind and sleet were gusting. It was fun though honestly. We finished up then I slowly backed up to go inside and they walked away. Last winter about 5 to 7 laid under the pine and arborvitae trees at the far end of the yard. That was cool.

Is anyone ready for Spring yet?  :)

Paulie....Love love the deer story.  I haven't seen any around lately.  They used to hunker down under the pine trees in the back in really cold weather, but not so far.

Hope the renov is coming along well.
