KB, glad you followed your instincts about that guy.  If it doesn't feel right it probably isn't.  The last thing you wanted was him knowing where you live.  Do you carry an emergency alarm.  Adorable cubbies.

PEEK a BOO little deer.  I see you. LOL

TSK, please, please, please stay off ladders.  Donate the ladder to Salvation Army.  ;)

My brain has shut down for the evening.  I have been putting out small fires all day and I am exhausted.

Aha - the Tale of the Ladder  - Or how to know you are at the next stage.  Tony gave our tall ladders away 3-4 years ago.  All that is left are two 3-step and one 4-step.  One stays at upper level, one stays at lower level, one in garage/outside.  Not that we're allowed to climb them either; any project higher and the helper has to have long one.  Oh, and I can't forget my step up pee stool.  Use it to reach some just a little higher needs (spices, glassware, etc.) and use to use it to get into Ton's SUV.

I lay awake last night making up my list of people to call to get help:  window cleaner, leaf/gutter cleaner outer, get up after getting down to turn off sprinkler system, clean away plants and dead plants/pots, and some decorations for Christmas.  I'm going to have a lot of nice things that I hope some bodies will want.  I have a lot of cards and phone numbers for those who help out "people at this/my stage of life.  Happens to all at some point.

Kinda like the RRP group - change some of the cams, eagles rebuild a nest they've had for 10 years, adapt to a new nest with new sticks.  Watch us try!

HAPPY DAY, BEAKERS!  :)

My local (southeastern NC) Harris Teeter (in 7 states and D.C.; and now owned by Kroger) grocery store's weekly ad/specials, for today through 10/11, included these 11 apple varieties and prices:

Macintosh - $1.49/lb.
Fuji - $1.49/lb.
Pink Lady - $1.49/lb.
Snap Dragon - $2.79/lb.
2 lb. bag Simple Truth Organic Honeycrisp - $5.99
Jazz - $2.49/lb.
3 lb. bag Sweet Gala - $4.99
SweeTango - $2.79/lb.
3 lb. bag Honeycrisp - $6.99
Rome - $1.49/lb.
Cortland - $1.49/lb.

There are several other apple varieties available in the store now (red and golden Delicious, Granny Smith, etc.), but these were the ones in their advertized weekly specials.

$3.99 for 1
Picture from Lunds/Byerlys on instacart...today.
Mine have come down a dollar...
a two pound bag of different honeycrisp are now 9.99....probably close to 2 apples also same place

Since they were developed at a land grant university...the UofM...one has to wonder why we are being charged more than everyone else?

CLYNN, thanks so much for posting the pics of Harriet and M15 rebuilding. Are they at N1 where the cams are? I know that there are far more important things going on down there right now, but I hope that the Pritchett cams are working. Otherwise, it will be another year of not being able to watch familiar eagles raise a family. I am resigned to getting to know and love the "Hatchery" pair at N1. This past season of watching the barn owls Sydney and Melbourne in Oceanside, CA was a tough one when first Mel and then Syd abandoned their owlets (maybe lack of food or pressure from a GHO pair that took over the neighborhood). As usual Mother Nature plays hardball.

Welcome to the Beak Lilbirdz!  ;D

Good Morning Beakers

I just realized I didn't even say good night, or post yesterday afternoon.  I went out in the afternoon to see about getting some new glasses since my prescription did change some, and I am not crazy about one pair of my current glasses.  The lens keeps popping out of them, so I need a sturdier pair.

clynn - Thanks for the SWFL update and pics!  Some of those are just too darn funny of Harriet in her awkward position.   ;D

jaspurr - I am glad you are enjoying those morning cuppa's.  :D

tsk - I remember the ledge that you are talking about, and all your beautiful pots and baskets!

kb - Do you carry pepper spray or anything when you walk?

Lani - Praying for good MRI results for Mike, and glad to hear he is using a cane to steady himself while walking. Love that morning pic of the deer.

BL - Are you still in NC?
