Peep, I love your "Happy Endings stories!"  :-* ... wonderful photo updates of the little ones.  :-*

Tsk, glad you liked Jeanne's video!!!  ;D

Lisa, You can put ham in my potato soup recipe. Mike likes it without ham or anything else. He's picky .... I'll send the recipe to you.

Jaspurr, awww {{{Friday}}} what a wonderful story of your very special family pet... I agree about Grazier, she's a great mom/teacher/defender!

T40, I'm sorry to hear of the passing of Willard Holthaus, a wonderful friend of RRP and especially the Decorah eagles. A life well lived.

Lori, thanks for sharing the great collection of photos of Harriet/M15 building their nest. They are an awesome pair, hard workers with a couple of glitches  :o , but they are determined and the nest is off to a great start.  :-*

Good night!

Good Morning Beakers! Good morning Phyl, tsk, Lisa & Lani!

Phyl, cute little grape teapot! I have two old teapots that are cats, I'll try to remember to get a picture of them for Caturday!  I guessed right for the fastest airborne animal... It's nice to hear that Jim felt good enough to mow... Funny, the pre-internet Windows chat room! Kitty hugs for Maggie... :-* :-* Beautiful early sunrise on the Flyway!

Lani, when will you and Mike hear about the MRI? Prayers said and fingers crossed... LOVED the Jeanne Robertson, she is so dang funny!

Lori, thanks for the SWFL pictures and info, looks like Harriet and M15 are working on the original nest!

jaspurr, your Mother sounds like she was a very loving person, your pet rabbit had the best of everything!

tsk, I can't really find out if the cam is still on the SWF nest tree, I had thought they said that the cams were all there, all but the one on the ground from the tree that fell. But the cam is not on yet! I would think it would be on if possible, to watch the nest building...

Just found this: On SWFL FB page - Denise Kikkawa Segura - Apparently ,the cams are intact but there is no power, so they do not know for sure if they work. They do not appear damaged. The pond cam is still where it was mounted, but the tree is not where it should be… It is on the ground.

SWFL - 10/4/2022: thanks to Donna Lee for these wonderful and precious photos of Harriet and M15
OCTOBER 4, 2022..Tuesday... I was able to get a hold of a few people and it was safe for me to venture to Harriet's & M's without interfering with all the emergency response teams out there. There was a line of 10 police cars that did make there way down Bayshore, but I was at the church safetly parked out of the way. Knowing the devestation down here it was goosebumps watching them pass...Harriet & M were home busy rebuilding the nest. Both took turns bringing in sticks. There are plenty to choose from in the pastures. This was Harriet's adventure. She got a nice sized stick from the office grounds and started to make her way back to the nest with it. She had to make 3 stops as it was heavy. These sticks are still wet, leaved and long. They weight more than they look. Harriet made it to the nest with it, but with M in the middle she lost footing and ended up sliding, belly down the front and rested upon the branch. She first landed on M and flattend him right out in the middle of the nest location. It was comical to watch. (there are 20 pictures of the whole fiasco on the SFWL FB page)

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

Good Morning Beakers

Hi LISA, I can always count on you for my morning cuppa.  You went overboard this morning.  Thank you.

Jeanne Robertson is one of my favorite humorists.  She was funny until the day she died last year.  I have watched all of her video clips on You Tube.  Here are just a few.  She affectionately called her husband Left Brain.

https://www.youtube.com/user/JeanneRobertson

LANI, wonder what the owl is reading.

So many baby sloths to care for PEEP.  Be careful itchy seal, don't fall overboard.  :o

CLYNN, it is fun to watch SWFL build their nest from scratch.  I hope those branches are strong enough to hold the nest.  Wouldn't it be nice if the storm destroyed the GHO nests.
It looks like Sampson and Gabby have installed 18 inch rails around their nest.  No one is going to accidentally fall out of their nest.

CLYNN  Thanks for the SWFL update.  Those pics are hysterical.  If anything, it is so tight when they are just beginning.  It's hard to see a "tripod" of trunks to start this nest.  They sure have the pickings of branches this year  ::) ::)

JASPURR    If ever you need a good laugh - Jeanne is the one to turn to  ;D

PEEPS   wondered if that seal would fall off  LOL

So, in my front entry I have a ledge above the door.  It is decorated with a number of interesting pots and baskets I've acquired through the years and my previous home also had a ledge so...To clean that ledge once a year I carry in from the garage a 70# magic ladder that through a process of extending it to its full length , the very top of the ladder will reach the ledge.  Now I have been dusting it by staying on the ladder and using and extended Swiffer duster. - enough to get the flies off  LOL.  I'm done with this I've decided. - I usually do this when Tim is gone as he gets mad when I go up the ladder  and he can't help either cuz of his balance .  So we are 2 old people now and I'm going to empty the ledge of all the pots/baskets.  ( Tim left for Door county with his brother at 10 this AM)
Got a few pots down myself but the rest are way too heavy.  So texted an organization in in town - who I've used twice before - and they will come later today and take the remaining 5 pots to the basement.  I'll save it all for our church rummage in June.  There is also a window up there that hasn't been washed in YEARS  so maybe I can get the guys to do that as well.  Then carry the ladder back to the garage for me.  Worth every penny...

tsk - creative solution to a vexing problem......LOL....age and/or the wisdom to know when enough is enought.....love that you are doing this....

Morning all..
Took a walk with Ollie earlier......a man I have never seen was walking behind me....more than a block. Next time I looked he darted in and out of the block end and I saw it...I let him pass me just as I got to a home with workers outside and waited so he'd be in front of me...He got another block ahead of me and stopped and was or pretended to be talking on his phone so I darted up a different block to get home...Something about him too as he passed me gave me pause.....
So a hillier/steeper walk home. could have been nothing but one can't be too careful these days. :)

Heading out to buy a small can of red outdoor glossy paint to re paint the wooden slats on my 2 glider chairs on porch in front..
Scott used to tape them all off and spray paint....na, too much work. I'll sand and hand paint them...a sheet covering the metal framing and cardboard should be fine...even if I don't get around to it yet this fall, I'll have the paint and be ready to go next spring.

Good morning Beakers!
Morning Phyl, Jaspurr, Lisa, Clynn, Peep, Tsk, Puff, Eagles, Pink, Lori, Oldguy, Weasel, Eburg, Baz, Tig, Kb, Ezee, Bggolden and All!

Kb, good for you to be cautious, I've done the same often. Take care.

Tsk, very smart to call for help. I have the same situation with high shelves that need my 8 foot ladder to get the job done. I dust it twice a year.

Peep  ;D

Clynn, Mike will get the MRI results Tuesday. He has PT today and Friday. He's back to using his cane, after PT checked out his grandfather's wooden cane. Told him it was the right height for him. Granddad was 6'1" .. yesterday's session wore him out and he went to bed early... Can you imagine what M15 was thinking as he's looking down at Harriet? Glad she was okay.

Jaspurr, "Little Owl's Night"  :)

Phyl, Got the Peregrine Falcon right  :)

CLYNN, thanks so much for posting the pics of Harriet and M15 rebuilding. Are they at N1 where the cams are? I know that there are far more important things going on down there right now, but I hope that the Pritchett cams are working. Otherwise, it will be another year of not being able to watch familiar eagles raise a family. I am resigned to getting to know and love the "Hatchery" pair at N1. This past season of watching the barn owls Sydney and Melbourne in Oceanside, CA was a tough one when first Mel and then Syd abandoned their owlets (maybe lack of food or pressure from a GHO pair that took over the neighborhood). As usual Mother Nature plays hardball.

Still have monarchs and a few straggler hummers..

so funny!...while Ollie was inside on the couch with me the outdoor tornado sirens went off (1pm first Wednesday of every month)....and he decided to howl to it..windows were open.

Caught a great video of it on my phone but this site doesn't allow videos from home...

Got my paint but spending the rest of the day relaxing.

Lani - great minds think alike!..actually glad to hear it from you so I don't feel too weird about it, being cautious.
