Good Morning Beakers!  Good morning Phyl, baz, oldguy, Peeps, tsk, E4E & Lani!

Phyl, Lani & oldguy, such sweet good night pictures!

oldguy, thanks for the story of Nicholas Winton, and the story of Poldi and Ingo! Still going through your selections!

Peeps, Willie is such a good Dad!

tsk, I very rarely put jelly on my peanut butter toast!  In fact, I have been known to take a spoon to the jar of peanut butter... ;D Here is a history of
baby formula, just what you want to read!  ;Dhttps://milk-drunk.com/the-history-of-infant-baby-formula/

Phyl, so you remember the mimeograph machine! Do you remember the smell of the ink, typing the contents on that special set of paper...and the way
you had to correct errors (paint over the error, let it dry and re-type it. You couldn't take it out of the typewriter and then go back and fix an error, you had to
proof read it while still in the typewriter).  65 for our high today!

E4E, I didn't get quite all of the plants planted, it was quite chilly yesterday! So I worked inside, now my house is clean (mostly, the Mole Hole is always
an exception.  Can't clean down there unless Ed is totally out of the state! I will get the rest of the plants today, rain coming tomorrow!

Dana Schroeder/Heartsfire Photography - Here is the Baltimore Oriole nest outside my kitchen door.  They are very skittish and I try not to bother them.

The Cedar Waxwings are back!

Good Morning Beakers

I am leaving here shortly to take Jeff back to the eye doctor for a follow-up.  Hoping the pressure in his eyes have gone down with just the eye drops, that he has been using the past 11 weeks.

Phyl - Same weather  ;D   I am thinking about turning off my AC, and opening some windows.  I just don't want it to get too humid.

Peep - That is adorable, Willie bringing in the nesting!

oldguy - Thanks for the videos, much appreciated!

E4E - Sounds like you had a nice weekend, and what a nice "thank you" meal for your Mom.

clynn - I did not even think it rain!  But, we had those "alerts" that pop up while your in the middle of watching your favorite show, telling you to take cover and be prepared.   ::)
Those special instructions....tea, vitamins and OJ!  That would be a No-no from doctors today.  ;D  Love the Decorah pic!!!   ;D ;D Ole Spice!

tsk - At 45 degrees, I would want the shawl meeting indoors too!  Have a good meeting.

Have to agree with tsk  clynn and add my compliments to OLDGUY's submissions for the day/night.  Not a bad one in the group - hard to even pick and choose  - just look at the whole library.

I'm going to mention and pick the chickdee vids/facts (actually 2 videos).  Very much related to my outside activities yesterday.  Spent a good part of the day cleaning up and cleaning out the droppings from the crimson maple.  First the blooms fell on the driveway and sidewalks (then got driven by car tires into the garage).  Biggest chore was getting all the fallen pods, flowers, and seeds out of the river rock landscaping.  Daxx lawn maintenance crew just used the blowers to blow it over the river rock and coat them so they didn't even show they were rocks underneath.  Didn't they notice!  Guess not. . .What a pain-in-the-Ashley - Took so much time on rocks, would have been easier for me to just do it myself.

OK, but I did pick my fav from OG.  Story follows:  Had to take many breaks yesterday, and sat down on yard chair and watched my busy chickadee, busier than the bees.  He kept flying from the lower part of the trunk of the maple to around to the side of the garage.  All the flying was about 2 to 3 feet from ground.  Then he'd come back again, multiple trips.  I tried to see what was attracting him to maple trunk; I know there are larger ants that like the sweet sap of the maple.  Saw nothing.  When I'd get up and walk around the corner of the privacy fence he'd stop.  I never did sneak good enough to see his destination.  I have a wren/chickadee house that gets used each year by both, first by chickadees then wren.  It wasn't making its trip to house.  Today I'll be working in back, on patio etc.  Maybe I'll pick up a clue where its going and what he is carrying.

CLYNN   Fascinating article. Thanks.  I do not think my Mom breast fed us kids so sure do wonder now if evaporated milk was in our cupboards?  I do remember feeding a bottle to my brother who is 8 yrs younger than I.  I also remember mimeograph and loved the smell.  My friends and I before school started would high tail it to school and help the sisters collate handouts and pass papers fresh off the machine on to kids desks  LOL
Cool photo from Dana - oriole nest. They are so distinctive.  Old spice  ;D

LISA  Good luck for Jeff - Hope the meds worked.  Actually did get a walk in this AM with a sweatshirt and jeans -  ::) for May 23rd!

PUFF  Nice to take the time and watch nature happen.  I'm waiting for the first monarch to make it's appearance as I have several stalks of milkweed about 18"" high.

TSK, I have a swamp milkweed that is about 18 inches tall.  Please send one of your monarchs my way.  ;D. I have had to refill my hummingbird feeder three times since Friday.  I have a hummingbird stairways battle going on in my backyard.  I almost got speared during one of the battles this morning.  It is getting dangerous.  LOL.  Yes, Jeremy was my little smuggle into Panama. :). Slept the whole flight.

{{{Prayers for Pink, her mother and family}}}
{{{Prayers for Karen and TA}}}
{{{Prayers for Lori and family}}}
{{{Prayers for Blschue and family}}}
{{{Prayers for Puff and Ashley}}}

Lisa, I pray all goes well for Jeff

Emy,  Happy Victoria Day!

Oldguy, thanks for links  :) ... I didn't know about the Tonga eruptions.

{{{Hugs Eagle}}} What a special and memorable weekend you had with your loved ones.  ;D

Clynn, I remember my mom getting that baby card for my brother and sister. I'm 8 years older than my sister. I helped to make their bottles and was responsible for their feedings if I was at home or when mom went to her sometime jobs. No such thing as a sitter. 2nd thru 4th grade I missed 45 days of school in each year to take care of my siblings. Most of the time we had Carnation instant milk in a box. We were very poor, sometimes I used rice water for feedings. It all worked out in the end  :) ... love the Cedar Wax Wings, I wish they would stay longer when they migrate to the north in the spring.

Tig, music is the soul of life! I love the older hymns. I am an Episcopalian I love the old Welsh hymns, we use to sing this one during Eucharist  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ofp6rdAgRrY        I love the Gaithers too, I have a few cds, Lynda Randle is one of my favorites of his singers.

When I need a pick me up I listen to this, The Oak Ridge Boys join in  ;D

Phyl, that must be a Downton Abby pic you posted yesterday. The movie is here in Payson, Aly and I will wait to see it later this week, maybe after the holidays.

Jaspurr, the Kestrals are darling.... Thank God it's not as windy for QT. She's wide awake, I keep checking their updates and they haven't posted about the parents stopping by to feed her. I bet the heavy winds made it difficult.

Peep, yesterday's puffin and TRR pics are cute. I enjoy seeing how well TRR residents are doing... love the cuddle puddle of puppies  :-*. I hope they are in a larger bed by now....  awww sweet Willie  ;D,

Tsk, Dr Rogers must be the most contented man. Someday I hope I can go to Ely and visit the Bear Center. Great golf tournament yesterday! Thanks for recall alert.

Baz, I know it's sad to watch yearlings going through family breakup. :'( They are so confused by their mom's rejection. Most of the time siblings of the same sex will stay together and join other yearlings on their own and protect each other. Mother bears have done a good job of teaching their cubs how to defend themselves by climbing for safety in the white pines. Learning where and how to forage for food, water and of course where Dr Rogers keeps his food station  ;D  Also, Ely residents have learned through Dr Rogers how to maintain their food stations for bears, as well as recognizing the bears/yearlings and keeping Dr Rogers/staff informed.

JASPURR  I'm jealous of all your hummers.  I generally just have 1 pair and they will take about a 1/2 cup in a week.  I change every week.

PUFF  I have seen a swallowtail as well.  Kind of surprised me the other day LOL

LANI    ;D ;D ;D ;D  your morning gif.  Interesting, your experience with "formulas".  Thanks for sharing that.  Boy I wish we'd sing that Eucharistic hymn.  How beautiful.  Loved your song links  :)  Be sure and report back on Downton  ;) ;)   Yes that was some tourney yesterday.  Good for Justin Thomas coming from behind.  The newbies to the big time gained a lot of experience and should do well.   Do you still have a FB connection with FFRC?   I'm liking all their increased presence on FB.  I think their new director is doing a great job!!

Good Afternoon Puff, tig, oldguy, jaspurr and anyone I missed  :)

We are back from the eye doctors, and lunch.

Phyl, tsk and Lani - The pressure in Jeff's eyes did improve some, but not alot.  He was at 24, 11 weeks ago and is now at 20.  The average pressure in the eye is 15, I believe.  He was given another set of drops to use, once in morning and evening, and then continue with the other drops, as well.

Lani - That moring gif, so cute and funny!

TIG   LOL  I don't remember seeing that before  ;) ;)

LISA  Let's hope the added drops do the trick.  I think they start reducing pressure the simplest way first and then add as needed.
