CLYNN   Car seats - How did kids ever survive without them?  LOL   Col. Sanders  LOL  Kids views are priceless.

PHYL    Yes to everything about "iodine" on our wounds.  Raised on it.  A&D ointment not so long ago.  Beauty of a candelabra  :o

TIG   I've got that series recording.  Have yet to watch episode 1

LANI    Loved your NM report.  I too was thinking of Monument Valley.  You can't help but wonder how it all came to be and how people survived the move to the West.  Kisses to Sadie being a good girl.

LORI  Always good to see you pop in   All of God's creatures trying to stay cool  ;D

Hi backatcha, Lori!!  :) And Destini:-*  Thanks for the summer treats! I would love one of those yummy light lemon/pudding/shortbread/whipped cream squares! Thanks!!  :)

Hi Beakers!

Here are a few photos my sister took this past week at some relaxing places with nice views of nature...

Click the attached pics to enlarge them...

1st Pic - Goat Island at Murrell's Inlet, SC. See the goats? There's a group of 3 standing together at center left, and 3 goats lying down center right - 2 are on tables. LOL.  I think I see 1 or 2 small kids on the far left edge... not certain about that, but looks like it.

2nd Pic - A stately old Live Oak tree with Spanish Moss in Brookgreen Gardens, SC.

3rd Pic - A Nature Trail sign in Brookgreen Gardens, SC - Be sure to read and obey the sign!  They are not joking!  ;D

4th Pic - A pretty view along that Nature Trail in Brookgreen Gardens, SC.  I really like the various colors and textures in this photo of various flowers, shrubs, trees, etc., in the foreground, middle, and background.

 :)  Ommm

You can hear chirps on the Loon cam! Chatters think that at least the head might be out, but no proof yet!  :-*

BAZI   Thanks for Sis's pics.. I've been to Brookgreen Gardens  Gorgeous place.  A beautiful place to walk - If I remember correctly it is also a sculpture park?  Think that was my first time seeing a live oak.. and was the first time we met a street vender and had "balled" peanuts  LOL  I had met my travel buddy who now lives in Vancouver WA when she was working in DC where we started - down the Outer Banks, Brookgreen Gardens and to our destination in Hendersonville NC where we stayed 3 or 4 nights and went out from there to various hiking trails and waterfalls, back to DC through the Smokies.  I loved that trip!  Thanks for the memories. :D

OLDGUY  Love Claire's challenges  ;D  LuLu is my favorite  :-*

Mama Loon keeps lifting her butt partially up and you can hear chirps, but not fully hatched yet!  :-*

Hatch #1 for LPC Mama Loon! Very hard to catch a snip. It will stay under wing until dry. Hatch #2 in a day or two. :-* :D

Update from TRR - good and bad!  ;) :) :(

We’ve got some new updates to share with you all:

New Arrival

Presley was found orphaned and was unfortunately kept by a family for a couple of days that wanted to take care of him before he arrived to Toucan Rescue Ranch. Sadly, even when people have good intentions, they feed them the wrong diet and with the wrong methods that could be very dangerous. Remember, to always call your local wildlife police to handle animal emergencies, as its better for you and for the animals!
-Because the family gave him cows milk, which is not good for sloths, we are giving him nebulization treatments as a preventative measure.
-Presley also has big long eyelashes, so sometimes they get gunky and we are giving him eye treatments. He’s been spending nights in the incubator because it is pretty chilly outside.
-So far Presley is eating leaves, drinking milk, and is well hydrated! Woohoo!

Sloth PreSchool Updates:

-Winnie is loving to climb! We moved to her to a bucket on the floor after she took a little tumble, but don’t be alarmed, she’s doing great!

-Pringle will be graduating soon! He will be moving to Sloth Elementary where he can climb on larger structures and forage for more leaves!

-Reggae is gaining weight and is completely weaned off of milk, eating a complete diet of leaves!

-Canela is also completely weaned off of milk! Due to her hip dysplasia and the amputation she had on her tail, she has troubles climbing. Because Mexican Hairy Porcupines are an arboreal species that rely on their tree climbing skills, Canela will remain at TRR as a permanent resident. We are working to build her a new enclosure and give her a great home!

-Carmen is also doing well and growing rapidly! She now weighs 420; way to go Carmen!

-The baby parrots have all graduated to the release site. There, we have a mixed age group of birds, forming a flock of 12! 3 of the birds there are still babies and can’t fly, but they’ll all be released when the whole group is ready!

Alongside these promising updates, we also have some sad news.

Jonny the new arrival passed away this afternoon. He was having stomach pains and crying a lot. We thought after he used the bathroom a few times it could get better, but our Vet Team decided to operate, as they suspected intestinal torsion. Unfortunately, they were correct, and he was unable to overcome the condition.

As always, thank you for following along with the babies. Through the ups and downs, you all are here and we appreciate your support every step of the way!"

Hi Bazi! tks for sharing your sis's photos. All are great with my fave being the Brooke Green Gardens Nature Trail.  Thank her for us.  ;)

Lani so glad Sadie is doing better. Been eons since I was in NM. The photos of Shiprock Pinnacle  are fantastic. Thank you for sharing.  Hope all goes well for Mike on this t rip.

Lori the Lemon Lush Pudding looks luscious .  ;D  So Destini has a surprize for the kitties and pups tomorrow. Eh?

Tsk isn't having DVR capabilities  an extra 'charge'? I know Comcast charges a fee for access/capabilities.  Our basic bill is over $230 w/internet access a month.  I'd luv to drop al the sports and music channels for Netflix, ShowTime and the like. Sure wish they revamp their lineup to where its' more Senior oriented. But knowing how that wouldn't pull in the 'Bucks and Does' for them what's the point in asking.

Lisa just not sure about dinner Saturday. Do I make Sizzle Burgers with the trimmings, etc. ?  Or do I make a chicken alfredo spinach pizza with Kalamatra olives ?
