BL (and Tig) - Pure poetry! Thank you. Safe travels.

LORI, that darling kitten and puppy. :)

BL, sounds very romantic.

LANI,  I am glad YRK has shown up.  I was worried about the adults.  I will feel better when I see a video of dad.  According to Lady Hawk the little blues have been serenading QT at night.  LOL. It is cute how the penguins and rabbits keep her company.

Peep - I know you are really into those cute sloths! Do you watch a live cam and take all those pictures?  If so, they are so darling!
Phyl - I too remember the smell of the felt markers!
Pink - I have never watched 'Under the tuscan sun', but maybe one of these days I will!
Oldguy - Thank you for links!
Hi Baz!  :)
Phyl - What is for din-din tonight? :)  No need to reply unless you feel like it. :)   I warmed up left-over spaghetti for us, had some bagged salad and 2 pieces of french bread (toasted).  Just something simple on a week night!
Lani - You are a wonderful family member!! :-*
BL - Have a fun & safe time!
Clynn - Lol - the hoarder shows!!   Wow, the pic of the green heron is so beautiful!
Tsk - Guys just hate to throw anything away - because they 'might need it sometime'!! ;D
Karen - I am so happy you & TA enjoyed some bites of a vanilla shake! ;D
Jaspurr - I am guilty of buying something to wear and never wearing it. >:(  I have donated nice clothing & shoes with the tags still on them.  I am needing to try to be careful to buy what I am really going to wear (or to use), and not waste $$.
Hi LisaG  :)
Hi Eburg  :)
Hi Tig!
Hi sweet Lori!  :)

Tig, You and Camper are having a great year. Lots of fun trips, good for you both!  :)

Lisa, I love my memories, good, sad, lows and highs. We all have a story to tell  ;). If it's not too imposing, I'd share a story I wrote about my grandfather. I took a writing course 18 years ago. Mike has a Navy buddy that taught an online/in-person course in writing both personal and for professional at  Lansing Community College. He was a fantastic writer. During a reunion of Mike's Navy buddies/wives, he talked me into taking a semester online personal writing course with him. The hardest part was writing sentences correctly. LOL! Anyway, I wrote a Memory Nugget, the assignment was to go back in time, write about that memory as if you were reliving it again. I wrote about Saturdays with Grandpa. I'll be glad to email it to you if you like.  :)

Tsk, Debbie completed her radiation treatments a couple weeks ago, and she's doing well, and so is her daughter, my niece. My niece's doctor was worried a couple weeks ago, she lives on Kauai and needed to fly into Honolulu and visit Queens hospital. They had her do an Amniocentesis and a couple other tests, but all is well with baby and mom.  ;D  .. I've never watched "This is Us." you must have really enjoyed it.

Eburg, no apologies needed.  :). Where did you serve? I met my hubby Mike, a 4th generation Kansan when I went to work for Dean Witter Stock Brokerage out of high school. Mike was a newbie stockbroker after his 4 year Navy tour. He decided to work in Hawaii. Mike is the KU graduate and doesn't apologize for it either  ;D . His parents and grandparents went to KSU, now he apologizes for that  ;D , but then at least they didn't go to Mizzou.  ;D. College rivalry and pride is deep in the midwest  ;D

Lori, love your post and goodies! Sending you hugs and prayers  :-*

Eagles, You will love "Under the Tuscan Sun" I wanted to go to Tuscany after I watched it... I have bought things in the past and ended up not wearing them too  :-\  Or I have clothes I can't part with, even though it may be too young or something  :-\

Jaspurr, I watched the video of the Blue Penguins serenading QT at night. That was so cute. Just checked on her, another windy day. The waves are really rocky again.

Good night!

Good night Dear Beakers, Cheers, Jewel Family, and Friends, Peace, good health and happiness be with you and those you love  tonight and always,

I'd like to brag on my college, but only alumni would know the where and what of it.  Chicago Teachers College organized to educate future teachers especially for working in the area.  Went through several name changes, currently Chicago State University.  It was and is a 4 year + college for those specifically geared for the teaching profession.  And get this, all the professors/instructors were either teachers or former teachers.  What a concept!.  No fooling around, all business. Took me 3 years 8 months for my Bachelor. Now?  Liberal arts, 5 or 6 years to obtain degree.  And, they now have a basketball team.

The discussion of school rivalries brings to mind an I80 experience several years ago - although I'm sure the fervor still exists.  My 80 years ago uncle and aunt drove to Chicago from Denver to visit.  Not a good decision.  Wanted to see our family; 100% from the west and 4 out of 6 born in Denver.  One direction or the other, members of the family put a lot of rubber on that highway.  It was not something anyone wanted them to attempt again.  Tony and I decided to drive them back in their car and then fly home.

The adventure started when there was a backup on the interstate - what the heck could back up an interstate in the middle of the country!!!!  How about a Nebraska/ Iowa football game.  It didn't really back things up - the state police actually shut down both lanes (others, us, were relegated to the left shoulder).  Who ever heard of closing an interstate because of football?  When we stopped for lunch break we found out - every game it happens at either school when there's a home game - really?  Especially when the two neighboring state school play each other.  There was a plethora of red in in or on all the cars not in the shoulder lane.  That was a long ordeal - Uncle took a nap (snoring) until things started to roll again.

My school (CTC) didn't even have a football team - missed out on the comaraderie.

BTW Checked in on NN - Awww  Things are really looking soggy this morning.  Sometimes it's just not fun being an eagle.

E4, the Toucan Rescue Ranch cam went live earlier this year. They are in Costa Rica and rescue much wild life there, not just sloths. The cam is at the home of founder Leslie Howle. The sloth antics are comical and the babies are very sweet.  :D

HI EVERONE

Rain most of the day - heavier this afternoon.  Pouring now

TIG  At least I didn't cry!  Favorite scene - the sibs sitting on the steps at the end.  " Pipes and pies"  great.

LANI   I would definitely love to read about Saturdays with Grandpa.  You have such an interesting backround  :)   Thanks for update on Debbie and your niece.  Kauai is such a beautiful island.  Was my favorite when visiting there back in the 70's  :o

PUFF   Great story.  Right? Who'd ever guess interstates would be shut down due to a football game LOL
