Good Afternoon Beakers

It's been a rainy, foggy day, but we just came back from lunch with ex-SIL in Delaware.  We met at Texas Roadhouse, as the drive is about halfway for each of us.

clynn - Yes, it is hard to do good at the holiday.  OMG, how could you forget a Red Velvet Cake in the freezer?!  That is my favorite cake in the whole world!  Thanks for the NEFL update.  I sure hope all the suitors have stopped showing up now.  Wow, the cam view from Stewards of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge.  I would love to see that in person! "Not much on the supermarket shelves"

tsk - Sweet morning kitties from you.

tig - Pope Benedict  :(

kb - My prediction is to make no prediction, cause I never keep them!  ;D Wow, that fog!  Ours wasn't that bad, but it was foggy. I went to WF this week, and the hot bar was finally open at ours too.

Lani - Love your morning kitty! Pepe & Pope Benedict  :(

E4E;D

Phyl - Thanks! Purr-More, Hiss-Less  ;D  Great cat shames!

oldguy & T40 - Thanks for vids...getting ready to watch!

Well, the Iowa Hawkeyes surprised a lot of people today - Iowa over Kentucky 21-0  We played with our 3rd string quarterback and missing 5 others starters on the team not playing.

Making my chili for the card game tonight (soup is the norm for our NYE party) - not expecting anyone to stay until midnight though - we will maybe celebrate with London  ::) ;)

SE Iowa - Grew up within 40 miles of Decorah

Lisa - I meant predictions, not resolutions.

you know, like: how will the economy be in 2023?, LOL...I will start. I predict groceries will be way more expensive!

I am not sure if I've ever made a resolution for a new year myself.

bounce

Just home from a fancy dress up dinner for the two of us. Wore my silk chiffon shawl by Traci Rabbit that Camper purchased for me when we were at the First American Museum in Oklahoma City this past April. One needs to make events to wear the stuff in the closet. LOL.

Now to relax until midnight... when there may be a toast with a margarita from a can. Fancy... NOT! Teehee...

Kb - We have gotten nearly 1" rain today, but it raining really well right now, so our gauge number will be going up quickly!  We live in the city limits, not near a creek, so we are not in danger of flooding - we are lucky that way.  There is lots of good drainage around here.   Wow, your frozen fog - hope it has melted. :o ::)

Clynn - Tv has done some really nice tributes for Barbara Walters - she will be missed. RIP

Phyl - Like the Caturday shames   :)

Oldguy - Thanks for the link for new years music!  ;D

Lani - As T40 mentioned;  thank you for posting the beautiful photo of Pele & Pope Benedict XVI  :-* :-*

Hi Tsk  :)

Baz - Like your New Year's snoopy gif!  I texted that same image to some friends of ours today!

LisaG   :)

Oldguy - Have a great night at cards - I'm sure your chili will be a hit!! Yumm!!

Puff - Hope you are enjoying your trip  ;D :)

Hi Tig, Lori, BL, Lilbro, Pink, Weasel, Karen, Paulie, Eburg, BgGolden, Jilltosa & All!

Everyone have a nice evening no matter what your plans are!  :) ;D

T40     That second one was so funny.   Cool - a felted cat ornament from the cat's own fur  ;)   Woman rescues stunned hawk - how beautiful.
Awww  the dog who gives the big piece of treat to his pig friend  :-*  Happy New Year back at ya'  :)

LISA  Glad you got to meet with ex-SIL friend  :-*

OLDGUY   Enjoy the evening of cards and it's New Year's somewhere  :o :o

TIG   Sounds like a perfect NYE  ;)   We had Barb and Tom over for crockpot ribs, baked potato and huge salad.  I take them to the airport at 11 tomorrow for their winter stay in Florida

EAGLES  Boy, you are really adding up the rain numbers.

See you all next year  ;) ;) ;)

Oldguy, thanks for the videos, songs, I'll enjoy watching them tonight. We're getting the rain followed by snow late Sunday night that Ryan predicts. Lots of great football bowl games this past week and weekend! Good luck with the cards and have a great evening.

Hi Baz!  ;D

T40, paragliding with a vulture that was a cool video! awww dog gave bigger treat to his friend. LOL! Beautiful eagle, thanks.

Puff, I know you're having fun!  ;D

Eagles, you're getting some good rain. It's been drizzling throughout the day, it's been nice through. Soaking into the ground slowly, everything smells clean and foresty.

Shannon and her pup Kona are staying overnight. They're avoiding the fireworks and noise in Mesa. She and Kona arrived around 4pm, Sadie and Dewey went nuts and not happy about it. Shannon and Kona are staying downstairs in Aly's area. Aly and Dewey will sleep upstairs tonight. Pet gates dividing up the floors and cats are keeping to themselves.  ;D
