Sorry LISA,  loosing track of time is another senior moment.  :o

Did your dryer tech come and go yet?...if so, is it fixed?

Good morning Beakers!
Morning Lisa, Phyl, Puff, Tsk, Kb, Clynn, Tig, Jaspurr, Oldguy, Lilbro, Lori, Pink, Eagles, Peep, Karen, Baz, Weasel, Eburg, Ezee, Bggolden and All!

Oldguy, wonderful Walter Santi vid, memories of Hawaii are flowing through my thoughts.... thanks for links and minion  ;D

Jaspurr, 10/6 📸Newsflash! Quarry Track (QT) chick has received her official name. She has been named Lilibet to acknowledge the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Another adventure of where's Camper and Tig?  8)

Clynn, Sweet Miss Bella  ;D ... we had a milk container like that too. I don't even want to think about cleaning the freezer UGH  :(

Kb, Madagascar lemurs daily neighborhood gossip, this one concerning the news Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen have retained divorce lawyers.  ;D ... YAY Both Towers have been seen together.

Puff, it was 49 this morning.... Time to get the potted plants indoors.

Phyl, Oh for the days of having dairy products delivered to our home twice a week. A typical week in Kansas, I think the last delivery was late 70s. Mike's grandfather's family on his father's side owned and operated the dairy. Mike worked the soda fountains when he was a kid for his uncle in the connected cafeteria. Then he went to work for his dad for the family asphalt company when he was 14.

Lisa, I have an eye doctor appointment for the same reason. Take care  :-*

This is Aly's last day at the center. Then she'll write her Finals, big test for license is in January.
The center here is assuming she's going to work for them, and they won't discuss salary or other details.  :(
Aly's school adviser told her do not accept, to move ahead and look for other options.
It's always something  :(........ I wanted her to accept the Medford, Oregon job. Though it would be wonderful to have her here.

BL - Hope your having nice weather, cause it is a beautiful day here on the Chesapeake!

Lani - Cute morning greeting!.  Oh no, why don't they want Aly to accept, and look for other options?  Do they think this place is not good?

kb - Oh, you all have a Walmart like that, too.  MY SIL is has one like that near her house.  They do not go there, unless absolutely necessary.  They go to another one about 20 miles away.

OLDGUY   Good deal on your Covid booster minimal reaction.   That is so funny about taste buds.  I don't find SweeTangos tart at all  LOLOL  So what is good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander  ;) ;) ;)    Claire was overwhelmed with wonderful sentiments and gifts.  Interesting about your uncle.  I'm going to see if I can find Rave apples.

KB  4 sticks of butter today was $3.59 with store coupon  ;)

LANI   Great name for QT.  :D      Connection to dairies in your family as well  ;)   Oh no.  Why would the advisor say to say do not accept?  Does she know that the salary would not be high enough for Aly?  Seems strange that they are not discussing it with her.

Temps dropping and getting some rain now.

Lisa, Tsk, they want Aly to accept without advance knowledge of salary or other details. Her school adviser feels, and we do too, that would be unwise. She needs other options, if this center is not willing to discuss what they are willing to pay Aly straight up. I've never heard of such a thing. No one accepts a job offer, if you don't know what the salary or health insurance, etc will be. This week they told her, we will see you mid-November after you graduate. WHAT?! Aly told them she will get back with them about that. Everyone is assuming she's accepted the job. She hasn't signed a contract or anything.. it's strange?

Lani - That is very strange for them to think she will just accept without the advance knowledge of salary or other details.

tsk - Enjoy the cooler temps.  We were a lil warm today, but it's really nice now.

Have a good night, everyone!

Lani, that might not even be legal! I am not current on employment law, but I would run from that offer! Do you have a lawyer friend/acquaintance that you can consult?  >:(

Lithuanian

Tsk, Clynn, Lisa and Lani I remember my parents telling about getting milk delivered, Dad mostly as Mom was a Kentucy farm girl who did the miking of diary cows.  But, he'd tell me about the way the cream and fat floated to the top his mom would skim it off; as did my mom's mother on the farm...made butter and kept the cream for cooking and baking.  Alas this desert gal only knows how to visit the dairy case.
Tsk how cool is that Chocolate milk on your birthday from 'the milkman'

Lisa what a pain to go thru all that, again with your specs. When I go for  walks in the late evening I have a pocket pepper spray...aim for the eyes and spray straight accross them. Stains the face too. Thankfully, I've never had to use it.  Very nice memory of the Borden milk co. Sweet Elsie.

Clynn I luv the Ukraine classroom. And, the coffee mugs esp. the one on the right. Oh my, now that's a new one, birds drinking milk.  Didn't take them long to peck thru the foil/cardboard top, I bet.   YOu know I had a pink Olster lady's shaver purchased with S & H Green Stamps.  Wonderful photos of Bella.  ;)  Good one of Red Bellied Woodpecker

Hi Tig  photographers see Life thru a different lens. Safe journey home.

Kb Hurrah! You 'captured' The Towers at home.  ;)   Thanks for the photo. Lemurs conversing. Hopefully before long there'll be snow and a drought no more.

Tsk Enjoyed your memories of the milkman.

Oldguy always ejoy the links; Jim's first FIL was a milkman...who was smart with money. Saved it up and bought the company he worked for in New Hampshire. Bought a rambling Victorian house  and restored it. Made a nice home for Helen siblings.

Lani cute breakfast this AM, Jim would luv the fluffy ewe. I'd go for the kiwi and orange w/ English muf   Many thanks for update on "Lilibet' and the links. Wishing Aly only the best with writing her finals. January will come quickly.  School advisor has the right idea  and don't sign a thing.

I usually check our bank accounts daily. But been busy with Jim' health. As it's been a few days thought I'd better give them a check.   Looking a the dashboard, all the joint accounts were fine.
But I was shocked that my social security account had been cleaned out with several purchases  to an online game streaming service at $100  each visit.  Made a quick call to our banks customer service and reported. They  deactivated my card and flagged my account. I have to wait now for the charges to process before I can dispute them.  However, there's a Lowe's charge that has been pending since the end of Sept., 10 days. A big 'what if' regardubg the fraudulent charges,  popped into my head. I think Monday, regardless, Ill visit the branch and have a chat about Lowes expressing my concerns with the fraudulent charges .  It never ends.  :(

Lani - the one thing that could be involved is that they may have policies that prohibit offers until applicant meets education requirements if the position requires a specific degree.  My other half's' sister-in-law ran into this a few years ago.  She was working on a masters degree and one of the places she was applying at told her that they could not make an offer until she graduated - this was for a large nursing home company.  As soon as she had the diploma, they offered a short term contract - she fulfilled the contract and then went else where, as she did not like the management environment.  Ended up getting a better job with a different company and then moving within that company to Phoenix. She wanted a hot climate - born in Kenya. ;D

Oldguy sweet story of missing kitty returning home and ringing door bell to be let in.  Thanks for links.  Distressing news on the Miss R. and barge back ups. Hopefully the temp road connecting Pine Is and mainland will help those who need to get the island will do the trick.
