PEEP, love the videos especially the bunny one.  I won a baby bunny on an Easter radio contest.  Named him Friday and he lived for 13 years.  He had one spot under the clothesline where he urinated.  My mother was so crazy in love with this rabbit that when it rained she would stand with an umbrella over his head so that he could pee in his spot.  She also would cover his outdoor hutch with wet sheets to keep him cool during hot summer days.  He was a very special pet, loved by me and my father but especially my mother.

So sweet, Jaspurr..

I kept myself busy today to distract myself....
Dropped milorganite and seed in front yard....and mowed the back, twice!
Meaning I didn't bag the leaves....makes it easier for me to not drag up 2 garbage cans of leaves up the side of my hill.....on the other hand: I had to cross cut it to get the leaves in smaller pieces....One half dozen or the other I guess?

I told Chris today I think the hill gets steeper every year!....he said: na, maybe over 10 years of erosion but I think it's you!.....
Yeah I guess he's right..

We are very sad to announce that Willard Holthaus passed away last week. Willard became an eagle lover after the Decorah Eagles built a nest in the cottonwood above his garage.  One of the highlights of his later years along Trout Run Creek was watching and learning about them.  Cinematographer and natural history film producer Neil Rettig began filming 'American Eagle' in 2007 and needed to find an eagle's nest. RRP founder Bob Anderson told him there was one in Decorah, unexpectedly near a woodshed and very, very easy to access and film. The two started filming from the famous white barn in the background but quickly secured permission from Willard to put cameras in the nest, beginning the Decorah Eagles story. Willard and his wife Mary Ellen loved serving as caretakers of the Decorah Eagles and always had detailed stories to share every time they saw us working in the garage that we call command central.  Willard frequently flagged us down to tell us about the eagles and swap stories about what was going on while we were gone or outside the watchful lenses of our eagle cams.  His enthusiasm, cheerfulness, and support for the bald eagle live cam will be greatly missed.

It's been a couple of tough years for the early crew. Thank you for your support.

TSK, yes, he came inside the house in the evenings and would cuddle with all of us.  He was fond of sitting on my father's lap and biting the wire to the earplug my father used to listen to the radio.  He was only in the hutch to sleep and during the heat of the day when my mother would wrap him up.  He had full run of the backyard which was completely enclosed.  He loved to eat my mother's roses and  tease the neighbor's doberman by running along the fence line and staring through the fence cracks at the dog on the other side of the fence.  The doberman was very friendly but would get so excited that my mother was worried the dog would knock the fence down.  He died of cancer.

Clynn  :)    Jim had a good day at work. And, felt good enough when he came home to do some mowing on the 'top' part of our/Sadia's yards.  Tomorrow he has a  hospt. follow-up appt. with him PCP about 11-ish AM then finish the 'hill' on both yards. No Eddie help this time.  Luv the Ukraine and the gradient autumn leaves on twine.    Sounds like a good deal for sure on the PB. I've had to convert a hall closet into a large storage for all the BOGOs I buy. Plus 4 yrs ago a freezer for Kroger's Freezer sale.  Last year I had such a surplus that didn't buy anything for 6 mos save perishables.   ::) :o  Okay! I've seen those Sweet Tango in Publix!  Now that I see the packaging. Bingo!
Ōamaru Blue Penguin Colony   :o  chick population.
Heartbreaking Sanibel Island. Recovery will take a decade or more I'm sure.

Tsk  like the Indian Corn. Got the front hosed down and swept.  Change the sunflowers to a flaming orange mums and potted.  Have an Autum leaves swag on the front door and a collection of pumpkins  next to the wicker  plant stand with  3 potted 'ever'green no water plants.  Tomorrow will tackle some decorations for the dinning room/kitchen and possibly a couple of other spots. Dunno.

Tig Thanks for thinking of my Flyboy.    It's been over 20yrs since I've held a 'career'. And half that time  I woke up as if I had to go to work. Gosh! If I had to go back to work a day grind...which could happen...mercy me. Luv hearing about your days.

Lisa   I'm gonna have to linger to catch a sunrise at the Driftless ( Miss Flyaway cam).  LOL

Kb I'm Scott's at peace, he was well loved. Nice photo of you and Scott.

Eburg/Tsk FNC all morning from Hemmer/Perino to 'Out Nurmbered' was tributing to Loretta Lynn.  Very well done.

Lani  enjoyed your AM pic today.  Good use of that garage space for Aly's things. You should see our garage  :(  LOL  Sure hope there's something positive in MRI results for {{Mike}}.
I've made my pick for Fat Bear Week.  ;)
I still have a cough and upper chest tightness. Maggie is doing well considering her health issues. I look into her pretty furry face and eyes and see such love of life. As if she's telling me 'not going anywhere, yet!"  I believe her.
