Fall colors just starting here along the mighty Mississippi!

When on my walk some were turning here just south of Minneapolis...
Am slow watering my arbors now as it was such a drought here in a suburb on Minneapolis....

With my windows open I just heard the screeching!....Mr Tower just chased 2 red tail hawks off the water tower...hope he returns.

KB    Good that you got the generator issue resolved.  I agree with your comments to OG on the Sanibel vid.

LANI   Thanks for Lynn's interesting report on One-Eyed Jack - wonder how far he followed him - and the intelligent Corvids

OLDGUY  What's amazing in that rescue effort video is to see 2 or 3 homes still standing in the middle of all the wreckage. :o   Then there is the no expense build house that made it!   Maru gets excited over very little  LOL   That's about how a few of the maples are looking here.

KB, the fall foliage is beautiful.

One-eyed Jack.  :D. I will remember the Honey Oat Granola Bars if I find myself in Bear Country.  Also the jingle bells recommended by BL.  The Wildlife Center of VA has 5 first year cubs that they will be keeping for the winter.  All were either orphaned or hit by cars and nursed back to health by their outstanding veterinary staff and interns.  They will tag and release them next spring.  Time to make a little trip to the Center.  I will find out if they know about the Granola Bars.  LOL

I caved, and turned on the heat already!  It’s too chilly with this rain.

Have a good night, everyone!

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Maggie in chair next to me... occassionally snoring.  :-*

Puff thanks for apple info.  Did some research on my own, Publix doesn't sell in store. and, from I can gather it's an New England apple. And  trees can be purchased thru  online retailer like Stark Bros and the fruit can be purchased  from retailers like Amazon.
The Honey crisp apple is sold by Publix online via Instacart No mention in store sales.  Since I buy so much online. I know where I can get them.  ;)

Lisa for the most part here kids go to Halloween 'gatherings' sponsored by schools, churches or communities/neighborhoods as it's safer.  But I still remember the 'good 'ol days' of Halloween as a child.
My late father loved Great Northern beans and ham soup ...with some green onion stalks and saltines.  Mom made it from scratch using the dried beans having soaked them, etc.  For me it's okay. I loved her beef stew   ;)

Clynn great Ukraine this AM; cute Happy Monday hedgehog; I may hav to post Flyaway cam (The Driftless) later in the AM. But I do love the sunrises. Oh my word! Just love that adorable Wild Heart Ranch critter! Some quick camera  work. Thanks for sharing Wskrsnwings Live FB on H and M-15. Vicki was so upset as we all are ...the tears. {{Vicki}} Sending lots of hope and prayers  that couples way.

Eagles nice to have you around Beak regularly.  JIm did good today. Said he's tired. Lungs clear so maybe heart is working better than I think.   Had my mind on other 'things', sorry. But, you still on your 'special' outting? Your little Star is in good hands

KB winky, winky Snowy Owl.   :).   Mr. Tower is waiting patiently.  Hopefully, Mrs. 'Tower won't be later than November.
Don't have to corral or stuff those spiders anywhere...Maggie gets them and smashes them betwix her paws and the floor. Leaves them for dead that they are...such a good 'mouser' that  'ol lady.  :-*

Tsk I ought to have read further and I'd had all the infor needed in you post.  ::) LOL  I hope you get those SweetTangos. Jim said the store staff took good care of him when he took his lunch break some of the girls  put his feet up .   ;D    Really luv your AM image.  That teapot and cup w/ the ivy trim will go great in my kitchen.  :)  LOL

Lani how Mike's MRI go?  And, did you and Aly get the truck all emptied in time?  So glad you have her at home. I can remember how it felt to be home as an adult .  :)
Many thanks for update on  One-eye Jack and Corvid clean up. A great  photo of him . I don't believe you'd share the granola bars. Nope!  Nope!
Those crows do good work.  ;)  Thank you Dr. Rogers, for all you do.

Oldguy thanks for your post/links. Esp  appreciate the drone over Sanibel Is.  :'(   Those  well built homes vid, just goes to show, eh?  the contrast between the vegatation and out building destruction...
I have sound probs so don't hear the sound on the other vid.  Oh yes I've set aside some time to work on it.  Pretty gradient turnng maple tree.

Good Morning Beakers

BrokenLug - Are you camping in NC?

LisaG - No, it's just a gaggle of us ol' squids renting a house hanging out in the 'tower room'.
The sea is to rough to be out in a 24' boat fishing unfortunately, but there's plenty of other fun to be had down here.

Fishing out of Teach's Lair Marina on Patty's Pride, Captain Kirk's boat.

Good Evening Beakers

Our favorite apple for eating and baking is the Cortland - a large apple with a short storage life, 3-4 months, so is only available in the fall - I have not seen them in the stores yet.

It is easy to forget how small puffins really are for such a hearty sea bird!  :-*

Lisa, I made sloppy joe's for Mike tonight, it's his favorite! Long Day, emptied the van by noon, returned it, and went with Mike to the valley for his MRI. They delayed it 45 minutes.

Clynn, I love ham and beans, very comforting and yummy. My mom made it a lot! I love it, but Mike and the girls didn't, so I only made once a year during the winter... raccoon is adorable. {{{Wskrnwings}}} bless her  :-*

Peep {{{Benji}}}  :-*

Jaspurr, the baby raccoons are adorable. .. One-eyed Jack and granola bar LOL  ;D

Tsk, I've never heard of sweetango apples... I like Honeycrisp, I'll have to look for Sweetango apples when we go to the valley.

Oldguy, gorgeous Red Maple... thanks for the video updates of Sanibel.. tragic, hard to look at  :'( ..

Kb, ditto on your comments to Oldguy regarding Sanibel ... beautiful owl... I hope Mrs Tower returns soon.

Phyl, MRI went well... we emptied the van by noon. We had boxes/couch/bed/other bits of furniture organized and covered.... I'm tired, glad to hear Jim's first day back at work went well and his co-workers took care of him.

Good night!

Good Morning Beakers

BrokenLug - I was going to say, the Chesapeake looked awfully rough yesterday, so I can just imagine what it looked like in NC. Cool house!

Phyl - Cute peanut butter spider cookies.  I love a good beef stew.  The best one I ever ate was made by one of my SIL's.

Peep - Aww, the kitties!

Lani - I am glad to hear that all went OK with Mike's MRI.  Keep us posted!  I bet you were tired after unpacking the van with Aly.  All this talk of Sloppy Joe's is making me want to make some, too!

Good Morning Beakers !

Currently: 46F .    Our forecast for the day:  high of 78 F  and  sunny  a nighttime low of44 F   .

Think I'll hose off the front porch and decorate for Fall/ Halloween.  Come in  give myself a hair cut and etc., etc. Jim goes in to work at 10AM.

Lani I bet you all were as tired as your 'Good Night' pooch.  Mercy you gals do fast work. So glad Mike's MRI went well.  A 45 min. delay?

Lisa the coffee looks good;  sometimes Publix has Hunt's ' Sloppy Joe' on sale as a BOGO. I confess I've bought 3 sets.  ;D

Tsk Not much on PB cookies. But, I'd eat those spider PBs. LOL

BL  looked up 'ol squid' just to be sure I was correct. And,  I was!  ;D     Nice beach house.

Oldguy thanks for the apple info. I'm starting to crave, apple pie.  I'll be making one soon.   Really enjoyed the Walter Santi Cape of Good Hope vid, luv the  cormorants in their 'high rise',  A very well done 'travel ' log.  Luv the story of Autumn and Trixie. I hope she keeps Trixie the cat.
