Good Morning...It's Caturday !

 Currently: 63F mostly cloudy . Our forecast for the day:  high of 85 F  mostly sunny  and a nighttime low of 63 F  and clear .

The past two mornings I've been sorely tempted to turn the furnace on for a bit...chilly.
Talked to Jim last night. Think I woke him or caught him just before he dosed off   :( . So didn't chat long. He sounded good.  his temp is just below normal
I really pushed it yesterday and so tuckered out that I woke up in the recliner after 2Am

Hi Lilbro and {{Karen}}

Lori nice Autum collage; how's your Gran?

Clynn Good Ukraine;  Bella looks like a 'starlet' in the sunglasses

Tig glad you both are home safe ; I'm not a fishergal, the only fishing I've done is off the Oceanside pier back in the '80s with Dan

Tsk good news on thenew alarms installation;

Lani tks of hugs and prayers we certainly need them, tks for incl. Maggie ;  Esp enjoyed your 'Good Night' yesterday  made me homesick, that's okay.

KB really cute 'kids' yesterday ; many thanks for the advice via memories of  Scott's tra uma/ Jim had a 'chat' with Docs and nurses  ; hilarious note to postman; oh and I told Jim what you and Tsk said about walking and all  ;)

Oldguy Minions LOL; I think it worked out fine with Bailey's bed and Momcat w/kittens.

BL LOL 'fishing not catching'  that's true

HI EVERYONE THIS FALL CATURDAY MORNING

PHYL   Good to hear you thought Jim was doing better.  Hope you just rest today  :-*   Funny shames  ;) ;)

Think we may be taking Lucy to the vet today - Last she ate was Thurs night .  This happened once before and all blood work was good.  Vet gave her an appetite stimulant and all good.  :-\ ??? :(

Good Morning Beakers! Good morning Lani!

We will get to 79 today, looks like it will be a beautiful day, so good after yesterday's chilly rainy day!

Lani, men can be so stubborn, there is nothing more that can be said. We do what we can and try to refrain from saying I told you so... I would love to walk through your forest in about a month or so, I bet it will be beautiful with the fall colors!

kb, oh I do hope there will be a new male at MN DNR!

oldguy, interesting from Lesley on the Chickadee. When I hear loud, incessant squacking outside I run to get the Merlin app on so I can see who is making all the racket. It is usually the Blue Jays, upset at something! The crows get into a squawkfest once in a while too!  Love the video of the Mama cat and her kittens, that dog just couldn't win!

Phyl, I do hope they will keep Jim at least until tomorrow...check with your Medicare plan to see what they might be able to do to help. I do know one has to be in the hospital at leat 3 days to get anything (learned that from my Mom). Prayers continue for both of you...and purrs for Maggie May. Nice, different view of the Flyway and the morning crowd! Love the cat and the late drone...

tig, is it good to be home?  Now you need to rest from your vacation!

tsk, cats have bad days just like we humans go... Hope all is well again. I am taking my two in Monday Morning for their teeth cleaning, check-up and complimentary claw trimming, No food after 8:00 Sunday evening. The hard part will be no breakfast Monday morning! I had to get a new carrier for Honey, one with a top door because we had a heck of a tme getting her out last time, a lot of hissing and some screaching!

some bounce

Hi all. Thanx. Yep BL... fisherpeople have a short hand... "You know that's why..." "Yep" LOL
Can't rest yet. We are picking up S.I.L. from airport this a.m. and taking her to join my Bro at the corn maze where their band performs during the Fall season. We will hang out for a bit.
She is coming in from OK City where she was a 2014 inductee and she performed at the 2022 black tie ceremony last night. She played a newly acquired banjo, the first one made and played by F. Bacon, a famous maker/player: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_J._Bacon
The banjo came from a Japanese collector who has thousands of priceless banjos. We watched it on livestream last night. Am hoping a video clip will be available soon.

Speaking of fish, LOL

Well, our homecoming football game last evening was interrupted at the start of the 4th quarter by 2 people being shot just outside of the stadium...I wasn't there...Not life threatening injuries but suspect not apprehended. A group had formed and was not allowed inside the stadium before the shooting.
Rival teams between Bloomington, my alma mater, and my current residence.

The sad part is they cancelled tonight's homecoming dance says the superintendent so people can mourn?...
Seems like a bad decision to me...Can you imagine preparing for the big dance, a parade happened last weekend....etc..don't let em win is my thought.. :-\ :-\

Preparing for my jr. highschool reunion tonight....short ribs in crockpot for Chris and hoping Ollie doesn't give him a hard time in my absence..

Have fun, KB!  :)

What do you put on your short ribs? Do you cook any veggies with them?

Good Morning Beakers............It's Caturday!!!

Phyl - You and Jim have had a time, prayers for you both!  Beautiful Flyway pic.

kb - It felt good to turn off the AC, and open the windows yesterday.  We are in the low 50's in the morning, and upper 60's/low 70's during the day. Have a good time at your reunion.

oldguy - Great minion's yesterday.  Thanks for the videos.

Peep - That is how I felt about our temp drop, but not complaining.  Love it! :D

tig - Glad to hear that you and Camper arrived home safely. You are always on the GO!  Have a good day.  :D

tsk - I love Cinderella pumpkins.  You can stack a few on top of each other for a pretty display.  Praying all is ok with Lucy!

Lani - Beautiful good night pic.  Hugs for Mike.

clynn - I had to laugh at your "remember when cashiers had to make change at the register (in their head)"  I am so calculator dependent from working in a bank, that I have to admit I have a hard time doing that!  Pretty rainbow!  Good luck to your kitties on Monday!!

Have fun, KB!  :)

What do you put on your short ribs? Do you cook any veggies with them?

I cook them in beef broth, onion, garlic powder, rosemary, and horse radish on low for 6 hours...nothing else added.
Oh I'll add some pre-cooked mashed potatoes with cheese, bacon, and scallops on them re-heated separately and separately some carrots, raisins, onions and butter.

Thanks!, I'll try to enjoy...my first time to this function without Scott....or any large gathering for that matter without him.

Morning Happy Caturday!

Thank you Clynn, Puff, Tig, LisaG, Lani, Tsk, Peep, Phyl, Lori, Oldguy, Kb, Weasel and all who have recently mentioned my retirement and/or posted gifs for the occasion!!  ;D
I am so happy for everyone in the Beak. Hugs to All Beakers  ;D

I had a wonderful last day at work, but it was mostly spent walking around and hugging & talking with everyone.  I had already taken home most of my stuff and had a few boxes of stuff at the end.  I had gifts and decorations to take home!  A bunch of girlfriends helped carry my stuff out.  Then 8 friends stood around outside giving me another hug! I actually got to leave when I wanted, but I stayed until 1:00.  It was surreal and wonderful & special all at the same time.

Phyl - Thoughts & prayers for both you & Jim. {{Jim & Phyl}}

Lani - Wishing all the best for Mike {{Mike}}

I need to get busy around here. BBL  :)

All have a nice 'Caturday'  :)

Tsk   Sweet ginger kittens this AM.  Sure hope nothing serious w/Lucy. But, like Clynn said.   The only kitty I had eating probs w/ was "Sam', Samantha my black straight-face Persian. Did the 'vet thing' and appitite stimulant and she turned into an eating machine. She went from 8-lbs to 20- lbs. Persians look like little Mac trucks anyway and she was huge. Lived 22yrs.  Pets/kisses to Lucy.

Clynn Awwww Ukraine kitty.  Cute autumn kitty in scarf.  We're getting rain today and prob tomorrow. Great DesMoines photo. I do remember when cashiers counted back change and did it in their heads. Wishing H and H all the best tomorrow. Pets and kissess.  Hope all is well w/them Monday.

Tig your SIL is quite accomplished.  You and Camper are an 'on the go' couple.  ;)  :)

KB near as I can tell that's a Synchiropus Lateralis or Chinese ornate dragonet. So sad about the game shooting...and too bad about the Homecoming dance. Hoping you/everyone can have fun tonight. Shortribs...never fixed those. Tks for your recipe
