Morning pics from Decorah - Someone had spent the night on the skywalk, and then was down on the trees in front of N2B.  The only eagle that has been around this morning has been HM, so I am gonna say the BE that spent the night on the skywalk was her.

Pre dawn I hear an animal sound.
What is it?  A calf, a deer?
Love TRUTH even if you dont like it

Lisa, I got almost the same pics, but yours are way better, so . . .   Is the curved branch near N2B or near N1?  Wonder if the over-nighter could have been a visiting eagle?

Those are great pics from yesterday, with the visitor fly-by, and the others!

STL - That curved branch is near N2B from what I saw this morning. When the cam op followed, and the cam turned from IR to color you can see that the BE was sitting on some dead looking branches on maybe the S side of Trout Run Creek to the left of the nest a bit.  It was hard to tell in IR if it was HM, but she was the only eagle that I had seen on cam all morning.

Wow - Who would have thunk it -

Now we have a racoon taken its sleep hours in our nest.  I think it must be N2B?
Looking at 5:00 am for those who missed, try rewind.  Maybe N1?

Little critter moving out at sunup - looks like N1.  One of the HE has taken perch on branch.  Hard to tell which since it's only silhouette.

Puff, it was N1.  I think that might be a bad place for the raccoon to sleep.  :o

At 5:10am a raccoon was seen sleeping in N1, and a couple morning pics of HD & HM

What a brave (or really stupid and inexperienced) raccoon to sleep on N1 this morning!    Both Decorah hatchery adult BEs were awake on their branches at the same time.  Amazing. If this had been DNN's nest, the critter would have been on the breakfast buffet!

STL, LOL. we have seen many raccoons on the menu at DNN.   ;D. MOM North is an expert at catching them.

STL - Great pics, and yep both HD & HM was watching the raccoon from what I could tell.

jaspurr - You are right about DNF, there is no way she would allow a sleeping raccoon on her nest!  ;D
