T40 - Mr Decorah looked really good!

I asked Kay before the program started if he socializes with the other eagles, and she said that he and another eagle named Thora stay together. Thora is blind.

FYI - That is Kay from SOAR holding Mr. Decorah at Velders Auditorium building at Luther College.

Had a nice few days - we have to get more of you to join the crowd!

P

Puff - It was good to see and talk to you again. I hope you made it home safely.

Thanks for the pic of Mr. Decorah, T40!

One of the new Decorahs landed on the Y about 2:00 and still there at 3:45.  Looks kinda scruffy from bugs under the chin.  Not sure which it is.

T40, thanks so much for posting the RRP blog here.  It's a concise and practical explanation of names and circumstances.  I think I'll print it for my bulletin board!

NIGHT CHATTER
July 19, 2022
Both eagles perched very close together.  BEAUTIFUL.   :)
Just before 3 am both eagles began calling together.  I have no idea why.

Shep, here's a pic of HD and HM together on their pasture branch during the night, and one just before sunrise. Love the chatter between pairs of eagle mates.

I took over 500 pics at ATF, but I will share a few of my favorites in multiple posts.  I hope you all don't mind.  :)

First set is of the osprey that was seen around the hatchery.  It was soaring around, landed in the trees West of the raceways, and on a pole on the North end of the raceways and ate its fish.

Hatchery Mom, Hatchery Dad, HM & HD perched in the tree to the right of N1, and HM & HD perched together one foggy morning.

Hatchery Dad perched upstream (took these pics from the bridge on Trout Run Rd.), Hatchery Mom, and a RWBB & Green Heron on top of M2.

LisaG1967 - Was nice to see you again at the ATF.  Wish there had been more time for chatting.  I think you drive one of the greatest distances to attend and it's always so good to see you back in the Forum to know that you arrived safely to your destination  :-*  The Osprey was a special treat and your photos are beautiful, as always.  I look forward to seeing any of your "favorite" ATF photos you may wish to share  :)

Lisa   :o  500 photos...I can easly believe it.   These are great!  Many thanks for snapping and sharing.  ;)    Why don't you start a thread with nothing but postings of your lot of photos  taken at this years ATF.  You could call the thread, " Highlights of the 2022 Decorah Eagles ATF"  or some such.  ;)
The English language is, weird.
It can be understood through tough,
thorough,
thought though.
