Watching the Norths sure beats housework, even if it has been a ho-hum day at the nest.
At noon, MrN delivered or discovered a muskrat carcass, picked at it, fed a little to the DNs, then carried it away from the nest. Looked old to me. No pics.
About 4:30, DNF brought a medium sized fish, a sucker, and it was alive. DN15 claimed it then wasn't sure how to subdue the flopping. DNF came to the rescue, dispatched the fish (out of our view, thank you) and fed it to the DNs.
DN16 is the most vocal -- wonder if that means anything we would like to know??
