Nora, the tail fluff reminds me of a bustle.

Morning wind and rain and several fish.  The eaglets are attempting to feed themselves now and then, even pick up sticks.  Practice, practice.

Just at daylight, DNF came to the nest and flapped her wet wings.  Looked like a demonstration of wingercizing, which we will see from the kiddoes in coming days.

Just checking the Norths, and found DN15 standing with straight legs!  Normal for 35 days old?  Haven't seen real walking yet. Maybe tomorrow, to celebrate my birthday!

The DNs have been picking at corn husks this afternoon, in between feedings and naps.  Late evening cam ops located DNF on the creek bank, when a deer walked nearby. Better on rewind than pic.

Both eaglets can now stand up straight!  And flap those long wings at the same time!!  DN15 has lost almost all of the baby head feathers.

Definitely big kids now!  Last posted pic below shows DN16 snatching the fish tail end from under DNF.  That is the first snatch I have observed this season, and better view on the rewind or video.  DN16 is the more vocal eaglet, and perhaps the more aggressive.  Male??

Some kind of insect has hatched recently -- constant high-pitched buzzing at the nest.

Couple views of the DNs in the late afternoon sunshine.

Is it the frogs that you're hearing,STL?  On Explore chatters say Spring peepers and chorus frogs are being heard.

Ginger, of course!  It's spring peeper frogs.  Can't believe that I totally forgot about them.  Used to be one of the favorite sounds in the woods near water while horseback riding in spring near where I live!
