Hey Jaspurr, skunk smell might dissipate over time, like when I remove spoiled food from the fridge!

Chilly and windy morning at the nest, good thing the kids can thermo-regulate because they are too big to fit under the parents! MrN brought another kind of bird to the nest at about 8:30. Not a duck because not webbed feet. No head either.  ID, anyone?

T40, thanks for the siblings video. In this chilly wind, they need a double coat of thermal down!

From noon on, there's a variety of prey brought to the nest.  I'm still puzzled by the bird MrN brought this morning, chatters say maybe a pheasant.  Could be.

Rewind to noon to watch DNF land with a strange load.  Part is a dark, roundish lump with a long, dark tail.  A really big mink? A ball and bat? Turns out to be 2 items; one is a stick that she moves to the rail. The other is a mystery creeature until MrN picks it up at about 3:00 and reveals the front portion of a large fish. You might be able to see yellowiish fins.  The eaglets liked it!

At 1:00 MrN brought another bird carcass, mostly eaten so hard to know what it is. Maybe a hawk, maybe not.  Wait for the next installment.

Sorry, no ID on MrN's bird from 1:00.  Perhaps he has located a pheasant nest, because he brought in a partial bird at 4:00 that I'm confident is a pheasant -- long wings with stripey feathers and long, skinny legs with big feet (not webbed, not talons).  DNF moved the pheasant out in front of the eaglets for a better (bloody) view at about 5:00. The legs remained at the back of the nest.  Eeeewwww.

On second thought about the 1:00 bird, it could be pheasant and what I thought was the tail could have been a wing instead.

Doesn't really matter, it's all good food for the eaglets!

Quiet day at the North nest compared to yesterday. Feeding = nestovers. The eaglets are growing, napping, eating, pooping.

Thanks, Lisa, wild tom turkeys are really beautiful when they display.  Huge, too.

Eaglets got fish and a red squirrel this morning. DNF is doing the hunting and MrN the feeding and nest aerating.  Also a loud flyover of geese that got the Norths into defensive mode for a short time.

Lisa, you would be smart to keep away from wild turkeys.  The Toms also have a big sharp spur on the back of their legs above the foot. For fighting.  My son hunts wild turkeys, and is out there for Spring Season in Missouri today.

Morning pics today.  DN15 is showing pin feathers on wing edges, but I missed getting a pic. The face is showing sleeker, dark feathers around the eyes as the dandelion fuzz disappears.
