Couple afternoon pics.  The mating seemed not to be "productive" as egg-laying time is past, so perhaps just "bonding" in an intimate way.

So much for balmy spring weather!  Looks like March isn't quite done with Iowa yet.

The eaglets, especially DN15, are moving around more in the nest. DNF offers food bits from a little farther away today, luring them towards her.  What a mom!

Great pics, STL!

I forgot to post some pics I captured yesterday at one of the feedings.  Each got a bite, and then both were very sleepy.

Lisa, the eaglets are easy to tell apart today.  Thanks for your pics, and a couple from me.

Question -- can the eaglets thermoregulate yet?  They are about 10 days old.

Great pics!

They can thermoregulate between 10 & 14 days old.

15 is 11 days old
16 is 9 days old, almost 10 in a few more hours.

Earlier this afternoon, DNF was feeding the kiddos and Mr N came in with a clump of nesting.  He plopped some right on top of the kids.  One lil head popped up thru the nesting.

Like all babies, eaglets are endlessly cute!  Good that the early snow didn't stick for long.

Both kiddos seem to be enjoying the furry meal
