Spring snow storm for post-April Fool's Day!  It's heavy and wet but surely won't last long.  Keep those babies warm and dry.  Thanks to all the camera operators for bringing the Norths into our homes, computers, and phones!

The headless fish that DNF brought to the nest looks like it's full of eggs.  Brown trout spawn at this time, and they are one of the species in the creek.  Very nutritious, fish eggs.

Snow melted fast, typical for April.  About 3:00, DNF brought a chunk of bright red meat. No  skin and no hair, so looks most like those frozen red chunks from a month ago, but could also be afterbirth I suppose.  Anybody have the real info about this source of food?

4:00-ish, DNF fed the eaglets fish head bits, including an eyeball (no pic of that). At least 3 fish heads on the left side of the nest.

Feeding time at DNN, both were fed (DN16 front, DN15 back).

Can you believe it? The eaglets are just over and just under a week old today!  Time for a family portrait.  Go cam ops! :D

Only within the moment of time represented by the present century has one species -- man -- acquired significant power to alter the nature of the world.

Lisa, love the closeups.  I thought the eaglet sticking out from under MrN was DN15, the older one, but I'm unsure even when they are next to each other!

MrN brought a chipmunk or a small squirrel to the nest about 3:00 today. The dismembering is very explicit and close up, so no pic. Watch on rewind if you wish.

FYI, at Great Spirit Bluff, Zooey the peregrine, has laid her first egg of the season.  There's a video link on the Flyway site, or scroll to about 8:00 this morning at GSB.

Mid-morning, DNF brought a large rabbit carcass. The eaglets are looking more alert by the hour!  DN15 is starting to preen those itchy downy feathers and stretch the little wings. Today I can tell them apart easier.

After feeding the babes, DNF flew off (for a bath?) and MrN arrived to keep the kiddos warm.

Lisa, what a great pic. Both the babes look really alert and focused.  Amazing how fast they change, isn't it?  They are ps-ing, but what about casting a pellet? Maybe not if they are not eating bones or scales or fur yet.

Morning pics attached.
