Rain over, one parent in creek trees, so were the DNs.  No food except bones on the nest -- rewind to 1:30 or so to see DN16 swallowing a big raccoon bone and keeping it down (no pic).  At posting time 4:00, both DNs on Perching Branch.

Happy July 4th to Everybirdie.

Be safe if you do fireworks, and hope there are none that frighten the eagles.

Seems like a pretty quiet morning in the North's valley.

Checking rewind from noon today, DNF came to the nest but didn't bring anything new.  DN15 followed, mantled at the Perching branch, then came to the nest, followed by DN16.  Lots of mantling and screaming, but no new food.  They must be pretty hungry to make all this fuss over fur and bones.  Time to learn to hunt and fish on your own, you DNs.

Did I miss the feeding on the rewind today??

Thanks to cam ops for the mourning dove in the Perching Branches this afternoon.  And for the views of the eagles in the trees along the creek.

Thanks, Lisa.  Good to get many pics before they disperse, and no idea when that might happen.  Previous years are from late July to September, if I remember correctly.

Looks like MrN and DNF in the Brush Pile Tree and the Scary Tree most of this afternoon and evening.  Did not see or hear the youngsters on a quick scan through the rewind since about 11:00 AM.

All four spent the night on the Scary Tree.  This morning Mr. North flew off and then DN15 and DN16 (both were hidden by leaves but you could see them when they flew off).  Both flew to the nest for a bit and also to Yonder Branch.

These pics are from last night.  DN16 on the left, DNF middle, and DN15 on the right -- Mr. N. on the lower branch.

DN16 moves further up

Ginger, what wonderful pics of the North family, all together on the Scary Tree!  I had a feeling that might happen.

This morning, the adults were still there as you said.  No food on the nest or anywhere else.  Couple pics to add to the collection.  Small birds were harassing them at the nest and the Yonder.  Brave small birds!

Red and pink dawn all over the Decorah and Flyway areas today.

The DNs are here, flying from nest to perches nearby and at the creek. MrN brought a fish to the nest, and DN16 got it about 7:15 AM.

Nice to have the picture of all four in the Scary Tree, Ginger, especially since we don't get to see the cue cards for dispersal. As always, thanks to Lisa and STL for pics, too!
