Around 8:25 DN15 defended the nest from a squirrel.  This is so cute.  Video by GABear.

No squirrels allowed!  Great video for sure.  Who was snorting and grunting; was that DN15 or the squirrel?

Early morning, the DNs were looking for something above.  Later, MrN brought grasses instead of fish.  The DNs moved grasses around.  Still looking for fish.

The DNs are progressing in their prey handling and dominance development.  Good squabbling over the fish brought by DNF at about 1:00 this afternoon.  No grudges; they huddle together right after a tussle.

DN15 has a distinctive large white wing feather on each side -- I forget the correct feather name. Visible when wings are extended.  DN16 has not cooperated with wing extension long enough for a pic, yet.

DNF brought a fish at about 6:00 this morning. Both DNs rushed, mantled, pushed and shoved, and DN15 (I think) got the prize.
Then about 9:00, DNF dropped off the head and neck of a deer. One of the DNs dragged it around and picked at it (icky closeups).  By about 10:00, MrN brought a fish, which DN16 claimed and ate. MrN stayed to help with the deer carcass.  The DNs are extremely well fed!

Yes, Lisa, they are almost as large as MrN.  58 and 60 days old, amazing.  Rainy day pics.

Morning, and the Norths are still wet and bedraggled.  Several fish for the DNs before noon.  And a wing view of DN16, revealing all brown primary wing feathers, no all-white ones like DN15.  That will help us identify who's who in coming weeks.  MrN is still trying to molt that big feather today -- no pic, but good view on rewind around noon.

Early morning hopping and flapping, then a fish delivery from DNF that DN16 claimed, moved, and ate.  At noon, they are waiting to be served lunch.

Closeup of DN15's talons shortly before DNF brought a fawn leg near 1:00 this afternoon.  Claimed by DN15, no surprise.  Rewind to see closeups.
