I remember the young going out there, then disappearing around the bend.

predawn - Louis standing on walkway - evidently sleeps there
He dives for prey
7.30 am he hauls prey up to box perch,
Clara swoops in, grabs, leaves!

She looked like she was laying an egg
Yesterday was so windy, NASTY weather, it actually blew him off the perch.
I have not seen an egg yet
3 falcons LOOKED like they were laying today!

Shep, sticky or pinned threads are for our falcons only. I'm going to unpin this.
Thanks!

WOODMAN, Omaha
There are 2 Omaha nests, I am not following the other but bcaw is.

Very, very serious situation at Woodmen. Mom is either sick or injured badly. Eggs are scattered. She appears to be alive..but has not moved in the past few hours...even when dad came. This is not looking good.
Jean, from Facebook has contacted Woodmen and DNR and will continue to monitor via cam.

WOODMAN
April 19, 2022 Temp 30 F
It appears the female
Charity
is no longer with us. She has flown over the Rainbow. Could be she caught up to the California falcon who died some days ago.
BOTH Omaha falcon nests are here
https://www.peregrinefalcon-bcaw.net/viewforum.php?f=521
SOMEWHERE...... OVER THE RAINBOW .... FLY HIGH
.................
She joins so many of the pets we have loved n lost
THIS needs to be in our heart, not the demise. Life goes on ....
https://youtu.be/81tWAoRcngo
They took the dead Mom and the eggs then cleaned the area
The Vigil
Precious how devoted some mates are
thanks sky, bcaw

Woodman Omaha April 20
6 am Male goes into the box, spends some time in there - too dark to see much. The snapshots show he's been around for 2 hours.
Omaha Falcon Chayton dies
Apr 19, 2022 Woodmen Life, Omaha Nebraska
- We are saddened to announce that our female peregrine falcon, Chayton, passed away on Monday evening. At this time, we don't know a definitive cause, but Nebraska Game will be testing her body. Raptor Conservation Alliance took Chayton's remaining eggs to incubate them in hope of any hatching.
The female falcon Chayton died Monday. She's been there since 2018. While raptors are not as prone to avian flu as other types of birds, some raptors have been known to succumb to the virus.
Chayton’s mate, Mintaka, has been seen around the nest. He was her devoted mate, and kept vigil at her side as she passed somewhere over the rainbow. Perhaps she joined other falcons we knew en route.
